One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had. Staff is incredible. Food is amazing. Caesar salad and bolognese to die for.

I think we may have been lucky to walk in and get a spot without a reservation. This is a busy place, and at times can be quite loud, but it was not an issue for us. Stool seating at a counter/shelf isn't my preference for dinner (maybe for fast food), but you may very well be seated at one unless you make a reservation for a table. The waiter was helpful to make our selections for drink and dinner. To start, we shared the Caesar salad, which was very good. Then on to the Bolognese pasta for main dish; also very good. I'd recommend this restaurant for reasonably priced Italian food, and excellent Caesar salad. For dinner, I'd also recommend reservations for a seat at a table for a more comfortable dining experience.

We ate around 5PM on a wednesday so my review on the atmosphere may not be accurate. The cesar salad was amazing and the riccotta ravioli as well. However the sausage riggatoni was average at best.

Safe to say the best overall restaurant in Montreal. Been there countless times and never left disappointed.

They say the third time’s a charm, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. On a positive note, our server was excellent—professional, attentive, and truly a gem. She really elevated the experience. I’m also glad I didn’t judge the place too quickly, because my first interaction with the host was quite off-putting. For some reason, he chose to address only one person in our party of two (and not me), which felt odd. He also tried to joke around but couldn’t remember his colleagues’ names, which made the interaction awkward rather than welcoming. Overall, a mixed experience—great service at the table, but a confusing and uncomfortable start.

Food was delicious, loved the vibes of the restaurant as well. I really liked their take on the caesar salad. Sandwiches are bomb, even pasta was very tasty. Would go again and would try their coffee! looks like specialty coffee.

I went to Mano Cornuto and honestly had some of the best food I’ve tried in Montréal. The service was warm and quick, and you feel very comfortable. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience in terms of atmosphere. From the outside, it might look like a casual spot, but it’s truly a destination for great food. I’d recommend it to everyone.

Speaking for my breakfast run: The hot chocolate and coffee are always great, we've taken our time exploring the cafes in the area and this has become our weekly morning spot. Staff is friendly, always consistent and delicious drinks and sandwiches. When you can see your barista recalling nearly every person's order, you know you got a special place.

Came highly recommended from other restaurant staff in the city and did not disappoint! Great wine and pasta - forgot to grab my servers name but she was a total gem! Will be back again next time I’m in Montreal.

We were sitting at the bar area with the window behind us and we were just enjoying the atmosphere. With the pleasant chattering around us, it was still easy to talk to each other and have a great time. Soon later, we would keep getting bumped on our back though because the path is so narrow, people walking buy would hit us by mistake. That was a bit less pleasant and definitely made the experience less enjoyable. The service was fine. They weren't rude or anything but they were shouting at times and they weren't really patient or friendly for most of the night. The interactions just made me uncomfortable every time. On the other hand, the food was amazing. The salad had a lot of toppings which I thought were too salty but when eating with the lettuce, it complemented it so well. All the combination of flavours from the different ingredients made the salad so refreshing and enjoyable. The portion was also pretty large for only around 17$. I have seen salad half the size for 20$ or more. The pasta on the other hand was a bit small in my opinion, especially for around 26$. The flavours were quite enjoyable but a bit too sour for us. I did really enjoy the texture of the noodles though. They had great elasticity and felt so nice chewing on them.

NOVEMBER 1, 2025 A special visit to a special town deserves a special establishment — and Manu Cornuto is it. I was here two years ago, as you can tell from my review below, but it was so special again that it deserves an update. This visit with my daughter was filled with Montreal history, conversation, and, of course, Italian food — both on the table and in our discussions. We talked about how we prepare our food and reflected on how, in a city so deeply rooted in Italian tradition and filled with countless great spots, this place still manages to do it a little differently — and a little more special. Great night. Great service. Kudos. Will always return. SEPTEMBER 2023 We were going to do steak on our last night-this night, in Montreal, but, a chef-College teacher buddy told me about this one place out of the dozen he visited on his recent trip. We did arrive after telling our Uber to let us out blocks away, we changed venues last minute and I am walking wherever and whenever a chef tells me too! There was no lineup when we got there the place was packed. After being told on the phone that they did not take reservations I saw quite the opposite occurring. I probably should have asked properly, and perhaps in French when I called :-). When I inquired further about the reservation miscue, I was politely told one side of the room is reservable but not the other? Ok. “Can we sit at the wood”?, . . . Me. Me - “There are two spots open”. Her - “We cannot put three” Me - “it’s ok, it’s not to tight, and there is an empty stool nearby” Her - “I cannot do such” Me - “Cannot or will not” Silence. Ok, it was not that abrupt, what I had meant to ask was . . why?? Aren’t we all thinking it by now? I saw only two settings placed in front of the two stools taking up enough room for 4 people. I guess the restaurant rules in La Belle Provence don’t want people to touch elbows when “oui” snack. Oui, did get in quite quick though and WE were offered a drink, to which WE did order - 3 Peroni draft. Our table was outside on a great 22 degrees 6:30 late Autumn eve. The hostess placed our beers on table and two peeps approached; our server and what appeared to be the Sommelier! All are casually and comfortably attired. A wine is quickly selected, the specials are described, cocktails are also ordered and turnaround on all is swift. Of particular treat was the discussion with our young Sommelier (Tomas) on our choice of wine, its complexity and kudos to us for choosing. My brother asked how he had such knowledge, to which he politely and proudly replied “It’s my job”. Egg+face>older brother. We started with the special appetizer; tuna in a can essentially was explained to us - gotta be good yeah. You cannot believe how GOOD this was (all CAPS good, that’s how good)! Such few ingredients on top of quality tuna with a little bomba for flair. We order all of the appetizers in their menu-gotta be good again right. There are only four. But what a four, do the same as I and order all if you visit. We had the special pasta, and consistently repeated, few ingredients with impeccable execution. Something thicker than spaghetti, no hole throughout (so not bucatini), endive, butter, good bacon and herbs and Italian goodness. One more dish, the porc tenderloin it was our servers favourite. I can see why, seasoned heavy on this trip, but try it too. Special coffees (in this province=Americano coffees and booze on the side) add male camaraderie and banter, bs and bs related stories, loud, more loud then shushing, and closing with a shot with our server, My older bro - “you’re having one?” Server - “Yes!” Egg encore. One of the better meal experiences I have had in some time. Wonderful.

My boyfriend and I love coming here for special occasions. The food is pricey but so delicious! We always get the beef tartare (no foccacia needed). This time we got the crudo as well which was perfectly spicy. The beef bavette with brown butter was to die for! And the fresh pasta is just as delicious. We usually get the special which was the puttanesca this time and chanterelle campanelle the last. Everything is amazingly buttery. We always have a great time here.
