Food portions were HUGE but tasted amazing. Service is slightly weak but not bad Atmosphere doesn’t capture the essence of Persia

Terribly below expectations.will not return. The service was super slow The best part of the meal was probably the soup followed by the lamb shank. The rest was awful. The appetizers arrived and were underwhelming. For the love of god, reconsider the size of the Shirazi salad! It’s too small for a salad. The meat arrived very late and then it was cold. All of it! We complained that the filet mignon was cold and the waitress came and said she would bring a new one. After ten minutes she returned and said she would just warm up the one we had which turned the meat into a shoe sole. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Koobideh was actually decent. This Persian restaurant is not worth the hype. If anyone wants to eat well, please head to Quartier Perse!
On the positive side, the staff and atmosphere were amazing and welcoming. The service was also great. The soup served before the meal was really delicious. I also enjoyed the Ghormeh Sabzi stew. The main reason for the 3-star rating for food is the Salad Shirazi, which had a strong moldy taste. The vegetables looked fine, but they tasted and smelled rotten. We all tried it and agreed that it had a terrible moldy smell and taste. We also ordered the chenjeh. It had too many unusual spices and was overly salty. It was also very hard and dry, and it did not taste fresh at all. It almost felt as if the spices were being used to mask a lack of freshness. On the tasting plate, the dishes tasted good, but some items (Kashk Bademjan and Mirza Ghasemi) were served cold rather than warm. This was not a major issue, but these dishes are often more enjoyable when served warm because of their oil content. The koobideh was okay in terms of both taste and freshness. The saffron flavor seemed to be stronger in color than in actual taste. Overall, I think this is a good restaurant with a great atmosphere and excellent staff, but they should pay more attention to the freshness of their ingredients, especially for dishes that may not be ordered as frequently, such as Salad Shirazi and chenjeh.
Five Stars is an Understatement! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Maman Sady has officially stolen my heart! The moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with the warmest, most genuine smiles—it honestly feels like walking into a beloved family member’s home. The atmosphere is cozy, beautifully designed, and just has the absolute best vibes for a night out. Now, let’s talk about the food: WOW. You can taste the incredible quality and love in every single bite. Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was just the icing on the cake. The staff is so attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares about making sure you have a wonderful time. If you haven't been here yet, you are seriously missing out. Maman Sady is an absolute gem, and I already can't wait for my next visit! ❤️
The servers are incredibly friendly and the food is out of this world
The Barg and kabab were great. Fesenjoon and Ghormeh sabzi were not enough good in my taste. Jojeh ( chicken) was fine . And still I think the Fesenjoon should be either sweet or completly sour .... which was nutral taste not enough added pomme granade molasse neither. Ambiance is great. It s a Family restaurant, great choice if you want Grilled meat ; chicken , Kabab koubideh or Barg .... not stew though . 🙏🫶I may return ...
Absolutely one of the best Persian restaurants in Montreal. The food tastes homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. The kebabs were perfectly cooked, the rice was fragrant, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the portions were generous. You can really feel the care that goes into every dish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Persian cuisine.
A very warm and pleasant environment with a warm and friendly welcome and very delicious food.
Keep going!
My experience in maman Sady's restaurant was really perfect. Warm welcoming, cozy atmosphere and delicious food. I recommend lamp shank, tea, and cheese cake baghlava
We were a group of eight people, and unfortunately none of us were satisfied with the food. For example, the koobideh kebab had an overwhelmingly strong onion flavor, and it seemed like too much onion had been used in the meat mixture. The rice was slightly undercooked as well. The Kabab Torsh (Gilani style) had such a strong garlic taste that we could barely taste the meat itself. As for the marinated chicken, although it was tender, it honestly had no special flavor at all. The most disappointing part was that we had a guest visiting from the United States, who was actually hosting the dinner that evening. He ordered the Barg kebab, but it was completely undercooked. We politely asked the staff to cook it properly. Instead of preparing a new one, they simply put the same kebab back on the grill for a little longer, which only made it tougher. Our guest was so disappointed that he did not even touch the kebab after that. Overall, we were truly dissatisfied with the food and the experience, and unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant again.
We took our order to go and we couldn’t believe how good everything was. The portions were huge and customer service was also great. Super friendly. A jewel in our neighborhood
Had a wonderful experience at Maman Sady Restaurant! The Barg was super delicious and perfectly cooked, and the Ghormeh Sabzi was incredibly flavorful and authentic. The Meygo Polo was also delicious and well made, although the spices were a little different from my personal taste. Overall, the food quality and atmosphere were amazing, and I’d definitely come back again!
Certainly no complaints on my behalf, very very good cooking it was spot on 🙏
What a gem of a place. The meal is super refreshing (Koobideh). I will definitely be coming back!
One of the best iranian restaurants in Montreal… as an Iranian… wow.. the food is 10/10
April 2026 update: Went back and had torsh and this time ghorme sabzi. The ghorme sabzi was unreal and torsh was pretty much the same as before!! My only complaint is still the oily rice— please use less oil! Dec 2025: The atmosphere and the staff are great, so is the food presentation. But the quality is not the best. I ordered the torsh and it did not taste that great, it tasted like garlic, which makes no sense. The aash, though, was very very good! I tried my friend’s joojeh and it too was very mediocre. The rice was also too oily. Given the limited iranian kabob choices in montreal though, I’d still go back.
Great restaurant with exceptional service very nice atmosphere. Food is very tasty. Will be happy to come here again when next time in Montreal.
We really enjoyed our experience here. The Kashk Bademjoon was absolutely delicious, and the chicken kabob was incredibly juicy and tender. The koobideh was decent but definitely has some room for improvement compared to the other dishes. Also, a special shoutout to Sahar Joon — she was so kind and attentive and truly made the experience even more memorable. We’ll definitely be back!
First time coming here. We were a group of 6 people, food was amazing with generous portions. Decor was so nice and staff was very accommodating. Everything was delicious! Definitely coming back again!
This place is so good that I advertise for them on every chance I get even when I’m going to the other restaurants! It’s absolutely recommended! If you want to taste an authentic Persian food, this is the best spot in Town!
Best persian food! A bit pricey
Delicious.
Nice place,Good food and good service i liked the kabab koobideh ,i liked the soupe, but the kabab barg was really dry and small and the food was cold i asked to warm it and they did it.
The lamb with the green rise is good, beef rise with almond is good and the grilled meat looks good too but the dark sauce is not at all. The waiting time is too much the foos took 1 hour to come even the appetizers took 30 minutes to be served, they need to work on that.
