Great spot for spicy sichuan cuisine. I was craving for spicy beef noodles and it was well made. The owner is from chonqing. Chewy bouncy noodles and well spiced. With bok choy and beef slices. It came quick too. Quick bite to eat and relatively affordable, would visit again :)
What guests say about MALA EXPRESS Downtown
Customers especially enjoy the spicy noodles and soups, with portions considered generous, good value for money, and service that is often quick and friendly. Several reviews also highlight a clean place and well-seasoned dishes, but some feel that certain dishes lack vegetables or depth. The experience seems stronger for fans of spicy food, even though one review is very negative.

this place is close by to the Museum of Fine Arts and wow was it good. I had the Beef braised noodles and the beef and onion pie. Both dishes were delicious. For the spice on the soup I got mild and while i was able to handle it i was surprised at how much spice was in it. definitely don't underestimate
Fast serving speed. Ordered their recommended wonton soup and beef onion pie, both were good. On their menu, all the recommended dishes have a little sign before the items as reference. The wonton soup, there’s option for mild or spicy. Clean dining environment.
I wish I took a photo of my beef noodles but I ate them too fast. The service is great, the noodles are outstanding with great seasoning and the restaurant is clean. I have a very high tolerance for spice so I got extra spicy and it was perfect :) my new favorite noodle spot
Won’t go again Better of buying the same thing in the grocery store
It's rare to find a good xiao mian in Canada, but this place does the Chongqing noodle proud. The alkaline noodles are the perfect texture and the ratio of oil to noodle is good. They have varied spice levels, but my noodles could have been more numbing at the "spicy" level. It would also be nice if they had black vinegar at the tables. It was nice that they added veggies to the bottom of the bowl, but there could have been a bit more meat in the sauce, it was stretched with mushroom. The cowpeas were legit and the perfect texture. It was a good price with a good portion and friendly service, I will definitely be coming back to try more!
The chicken appetizer was good, the noodles were not very authentic or good and doesn't have any vegetables at all
Got this place recommended by my friend, and as a a spicy food lover, this place is BUSSING! I tried the spicy wonton soup, Wanza Noodles, the dandan noodles, and the beef pie with onions, and everything was DELICIOUS!!!! highly recommend!
Delicious and well priced
