What guests say about Maison Fu Chun
Maison Fu Chun seems to be a good spot for Shanghai-style dumplings and noodles, with several reviews praising the flavors, freshness, and generous portions. The service is often described as fast, friendly, and efficient, but some customers also report delays, disorganization, and a lack of attention. The atmosphere is generally considered clean and pleasant, although some find the place a bit small and the menu rather limited.

Pork soup dumplings, shrimp, shrimp tempura, fried pork cutlet were amazing. The service is top tier.
Authentic. Better than the other soup dumpling places.
One of many quick spots to eat in Chinatown. I felt it was just okay. The service was average, the restaurant was a little on the messy side but not bad, and the food was alright. Big portions for the price. We tried the cucumber salad (which was my favourite dish), the buddha’s delight noodles, and the spicy peanut noodles. The veggie noodles were fine, not that flavourful and really oily but the cooked vegetables were great. The peanut noodles were incredibly rich and creamy, but not at all spicy. Super filling though so I’d recommend sharing it.
Delicious! My Chinese Canadian husband loves it. Says it reminds him of his grandmother’s Shanghainese cooking :)
Perfect food and A really Nice service
Happy to see they opened up a 2nd location in Chinatown. Food was good as always. As a Shanghainese living in Montreal, this is truly nostalgic food for me.
We came on a Sunday evening and despite the place being packed, we only waited around 15 minutes before being seated. Service was quick and efficient and food came out promptly despite the crowd. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, Classic Pork Xiao Long Bao and the Spicy Peanut Sauce Noodles. The noodles were well-seasoned with just enough spice to give it a kick. As for the Xiao Long Bao, the pork filling was juicy and flavourful, but we found the dough skin wrapper to be slightly too thin and delicate relative to the size of each dumpling. It would have worked better with smaller dumplings, as the larger pork filling made the wrapper more prone to breaking when lifting them from the steamer - resulting in a lot of the soup being lost in the process. Overall, if you're looking for Shanghai-style flavours in Montreal, it's still worth a try.
Solid spot overall. The Shanghai noodles were excellent, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The sweet pork soup dumplings tasted great with a rich, flavourful broth, but the wrappers were too delicate: 4 out of 10 broke before we even touched them, so we lost a lot of the soup. The chicken plate was the main letdown. It came out cold, and nothing on the menu said it was meant to be served that way.
We ordered crispy chicken wings, beef and onion soup dumplings, peanut sauce noodles, and chicken katsu noodles. The noodles were nice and chewy and the peanut sauce was delicious. The xiao long bao skin were very thin and the filling, very generous. The unexpected though was how their chicken wings tasted like China! I was blown away. Everything felt freshly made even though we got there kinda late (one hour before closing). I wish they had more non-pork options though.
Really good duck noodles!
Traditonal Shanghai food! Yummy~~~❗️
Delicious food, nice service, highly recommended!
Everything tastes fabulous and classic Shanghai style! Strong choice!
Great choice!
Horrible service, the servers do not know what they are doing. Ignored us multiple times walking by so we had to walk up to the counter to order. The wait for food is way too long and they messed up our order so we had to wait for even longer. And despite not knowing what to do, the attitude of the servers were definetly not welcoming. I am sorry but if your job is a server, give better attitudes. Never coming back
Nice spot for a little taste of Shanghai at Montreal. Good portion sizes, good flavor and soup to the xiaolongbao, and i liked the dried fish. Clean and welcoming decor.
Excellent
Food was great but the service was terrible. - long wait even when tables were empty. - Dirty cups (there were pieces of food floating in the water) - waiter cleaned table as we were being seated. - waiter served my canned beverage with his fingers all over the lip/opening).this is extra gross cuz he just finished cleaning our table. - delivered our main dishes before we finished our entre. (Not usually a problem but our table was small. So suddenly we had literally no space). When we finished dishes we put the empty dishes on the table next to us. - We ordered dishes to share, but we did not receive any small plates for sharing. - they kept giving us food without removing the plates that were finished. - no cutlery /chopsticks - no napkins We had to ask for everything. The waiter was so oblivious we had to steal cutlery from the table next to us. It was obvious they were understaffed and not trained. 5 stars for food 1 star for atmosphere because the other tables were having similar frustrations. 1 star for service is obvious. I would come back but only if they had better servers.
Excellent dumplings. The best I ever had. We took those with pork and greens and the vegetables ones. Both were delicious. The price is low. Good value for money.
The food was amazing and the staff were very welcoming
SOOOOO YUMMY🥢
The food is immaculate, taste exactly like a bite of Shanghai, its super authentic.
I love this place! Their Shanghai spicy peanut sauce noodles are actually to die for and you NEED to try them if you come here. Amazing! I will definitely be back.
Did not even bring us water. Server lost our order. Served 3 other tables that arrived after us never bothered to follow up. Female server came near did not inquire and left without any follow up. Worst service ever. Left the restaurant in disapointment.
