So delicious
Downgrading because it's more expensive now and the chickens are smaller, really good flavor though.
Was lucky to reach the restaurant just before the crowds descended, so managed to get one of the few tables around. Ordered the half chicken, non-spicy version, and it was so sublime: crispy skin on the outside, while the meat was super tender and juicy. Chips were crispy and surprisingly held up well to the gravy, so it paired very well with the chicken. Couldnt finish the large serving and one of the chefs was kind enough to get me a box to go so i disnt have to line up behind the long queue to do so, very grateful for that!
Great place to go eat a customized poutine.
The old lady on the counter was rude and disrespectful.
The chicken was juicy and the fries wasn't oily. The combination was the salad was perfect. This portion for 18 dollars totally worth it!
Great food at Ma Poule Mouillée. Chicken, fries, and salad were all really good. Very crowded place, but definitely worth the wait.
Very good poutine we got the Large Poutine Chicken and Chorizo which was plenty full for two people. Warm service, we went during lunch time so it was packed. Large partions Great Taste amazing price
Really good poutine and chicken.
Amazing chicken, definitely worth the visit.
YUM! Such yum food and their sauce is just stunning. Absolutely loved this place!
Ma Poule Mouillée is easily one of the best spots in Montreal if you’re craving truly tasty, satisfying chicken. It absolutely lives up to its reputation as a TripAdvisor-recommended place, and after my visit, I can see why it’s so popular. I ordered a salad, poutine, and their famous chicken, and the total came to a little over $40—well worth it for the quality and portion sizes. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right with that signature Portuguese-style flavor. The poutine was rich and indulgent, loaded with toppings and full of bold taste, while the salad balanced everything out nicely with fresh ingredients. One of the things I really appreciated was that you can actually see how they cook your food. It adds a level of transparency and trust, and it’s honestly fun to watch the process. You know you’re getting something freshly prepared right in front of you. The service was fast and pleasant. Even though the place was busy, the staff handled everything efficiently and kept things moving without sacrificing friendliness. That said, be prepared—there’s often a line of people waiting, which says a lot about how good the food is. Seating is limited, so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking for a long, relaxed dine-in experience. Overall, if you want delicious, fresh chicken and don’t mind a bit of a wait, this place is a must-visit.
poutine very tasty
Delicious, incredible food. Line gets long so order ahead, and get a dessert at the end.
Super generous portion of poutine filled with lots of tender rotisserie chicken and slices of chorizo. We shared a small poutine between 3 people and it was enough. The gravy is rich, but starts to get a little salty near the end. You order in at the kitchen area then pay and pickup your food at the cash register. Would recommend for delicious and reasonably priced poutine!
One of the best chicken
Very good chicken at a really great price!
You simply cant beat the price/quality/value of this place. Giant portions and delectable food.
Really good chicken and portions are unbelievable. The sandwiches are really yum with the bread being particularly soft with the right chew. The egg tart is a must try and we even tried a few others - all good. Must try!!!
If you’re looking for the best Portuguese chicken in Montreal, Ma Poule Mouillée is hard to beat. I’ll put it this way—I’ve had Portuguese chicken in Lisbon that wasn’t as good as this. The chicken was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Paired with their piri piri sauce, it was absolutely spot on. The grilled calamari was my personal favorite: incredibly flavorful and surprisingly tender. Even as someone who isn’t usually a fan of poutine, I have to say their version was amazing. That said, be prepared for a bit of chaos. The place gets busy and operates mostly as walk-in ordering. The calamari takes longer to cook, so we ended up waiting quite a while—at least 15 groups who ordered after us received their food first. On top of that, some staff don’t speak much English, which made us a bit anxious about whether our order had been missed. Despite these downsides, I’d absolutely go back again. The food is fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced—well worth the wait. Recommended items: Grilled Calamari, Le Tony Alves
Very good
Their poutine is delicious. Highly recommend this place. The madame was kind and approachable, and she answered all my questions about the food.
Be aware and be prepared: Always waiting time! The place has just few places to eat inside. 1st come, 1st served. HOWEVER, amazing food, delicious, coconut flan is top! And come hungry... if not... you will have to take the leftovers... LOL... Suggestion: in the spring, summer, autumn with nice temperatures order as take out and go to the park nearby... bring your picnic matt and enjoy 😉.
Edd tart is nice. Pontine is too much to be able to eat.
