Very beautiful place and very generous people 😋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What guests say about Ma Poule Mouillée
Ma Poule Mouillée is often described as a must-visit spot in Montreal for Portuguese chicken and poutine, with very generous portions and good value for money. Many customers love the flavor of the chicken, the sauce, and the speed of service, but you often have to expect a long line and limited seating. A few reviews also mention inconsistencies in quality, with dishes sometimes being too salty, dry, or with less successful fries.

Overall it was good but nothing wow…I asked for metal fork and the lady said no, we only give wooden fork now…guessing they were closing and did not want to wash more ustencils…
Did not live to the hype. I had the 8. Poutine with chicken and chorizo which I think is what they are known for. It was very middling. The chicken did not have any charcoal flavor and was too salty. The spicy sauce was not spicy and the chorizo needs to be crispy. The poutine sauce was alright. The portion was quite generous.
Ahhh, the memories… Use to eat here all the time 6-7 years ago.
I live in Montréal for a while now, and my only regret is that I took such a long time to go to this resto!
If you haven't been to Ma Poule Mouillée yet you're seriously missing out. The charcoal roasted piri piri chicken here is the real deal, smoky, juicy and packed with flavour in every single bite. The half chicken with fries is the classic move and it never disappoints. But honestly the chicken poutine with chouriço and São Jorge cheese is on another level entirely, it might be the best poutine I've ever had in Montreal. There's usually a line but don't let that scare you off because the service moves fast and the food is absolutely worth the wait. Prices are super reasonable too and taxes are included in the displayed price which is a nice touch. A true Plateau institution and one of those spots every Montrealer should have on their regular rotation.
We don't understand all the rave about this place. Sure, the place is charming, the servers are friendly, and the portions are huge - but the quality of the food itself was sorely lacking. The chicken was dry. There was no way around it - the whites were devoid of any moisture, and the dark meat was even beginning to dry out. The spicy sauce was good, but not memorable, and it came with way too little of it. The salad and rice were an afterthought (which is understandable for a chicken place). The potatoes were bland and cold.
We went there thanks to various recommendations. We ordered the poutine and a chicken sandwich and I cannot emphasize enough how GOOD both of the dishes were. Making the 10-15min line means nothing compared to the great food you are getting.
Poulet Mouillé is an absolute must visit for anyone craving authentic, comforting Portuguese style charcoal food in Montreal. On my recent visit, I ordered their famous chicken and chorizo poutine, and it truly hit the spot. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait when you arrive, as there is usually a bustling line of about 15 to 30 minutes just to place your order. However, the kitchen staff moves like lightning; once you finally put in your order, it takes only about 5 minutes to get your hands on the hot food.Paying 20 dollars for such a large poutine is 100 percent worth it because it is easily good for two people to share. The base of the dish was flawless. The golden fries were cooked to perfection, holding their crispy texture beautifully. What I appreciated most was the savory sauce; it was wonderfully flavorful without being overly salty, so you never get bored eating it. The grilled chicken was undeniably the star of the show because it was exceptionally juicy and packed with smoky flavor. The chorizo was just meh not bad, but not outstanding either. Still, this comforting dish is a total winner.
Quite possibly the best charcoal chicken I have ever had. Incredible smoky charcoal flavour. Poutine was definitely the best I have ever had. Chips are perfectly seasoned and the gravy was perfect. Salads a little bland but you don't come here for the salad. If you visit Montreal, this is a place you must eat at. Expect long lines though. Gets very busy and limited seating. Absolutely worth it though. Amazing.
Actually delicious. So worth it, a TON of food.
Charming vibes, Jumbo portions, tastiest chicken of all! and advertised prices include tax already. Has nice deserts as well! On my favorites lists.
Service has gone downhill lately. This is the 2nd time the lady forgot to add sauce on my order to go. Came home to bland dry chicken…. I never have this problem when the owner serves my plate. Waste of my hard earned money again!
I always stop by this place whenever I visit Montreal. The chicken and hot sauce is top tier and addictive. Prices are decent. I'd absolutely eat this regularly if I lived in Montreal.
The best poutine ever
Great chicken. Portions are large enough to share. The spicy suave wasn't very spicy. There was a line but it moved fast. There are few seats inside.
Expensive. Bad quality. Overrated. Do not recommend.
Amazing chiken
Solid 9/10, perhaps the best poutine on the island of Montreal
Very good A bit greasy but very delicious
Amazing Portuguese style chicken and really good poutine. Definitely would recommend!
I think I did not eat the same poutine as everyone else. There is simply nothing special about this poutine. Maybe I had my expectations a bit too high because of everyone recommending it.
The chip is nice. The chicken is excellent. The saguaro is well mixed with chicken
Good service, very fast
If come here, be prepared for the long queues. Poutine was okay.
