As someone who has been reviewing restaurants for over 11 years, I was really disappointed with my experience here. I came in specifically to try their lunch special that I saw advertised on Instagram — a bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, potato salad, and soup. The photo they posted showed a generous portion with plenty of cream cheese. Unfortunately, what I received was completely different from what was advertised. The bagel had barely any cream cheese — honestly it looked like almost none at all. I even politely mentioned it to the waitress because I thought maybe they had forgotten to add it. She spoke to the kitchen, and I clearly saw one of the chefs (a man with a beard) look over and say “that’s enough cream cheese.” There wasn’t even a small container or extra on the side. What made the situation worse is that it seemed like the owner was sitting in the back on a computer and saw the interaction, but nothing was done to address it. The waitress simply came back and said, “that’s just how it is.” The potato salad was also very underwhelming and lacked flavor. After coming home from vacation, all I wanted was a simple, comforting bagel with cream cheese and salmon — something Montreal is known for. Sadly, this experience did not deliver that. What you see advertised online is not what you get, and because of that, I unfortunately won’t be returning to this location.

Excellent
We had our lunch here after taking a walk at Lachine. This restaurant is quite popular. They were busy when we arrived. Service is good enough. Cheese sandwiches with chorizo was tasty. It came with fried potatoes which were crispy and delicious. Coffee was good. We sat by the window so looking outside and seeing snow was relaxing. We can come back here again.
This place is expensive. It was my first visit, and I was honestly shocked to pay $29.49 for a small latte and a grilled cheese with egg and arugula, which had about three pieces of mushroom and roughly 20 tiny potato wedges on the side. I finished the entire meal in about five minutes. That $29.49 didn’t include tip, which I declined since the order was to go. They don’t handle takeout orders very well. The place was clearly focused on dine-in customers, and I waited around 20–25 minutes for my order. I also asked for pistachio syrup in my latte, which I’m pretty sure I was charged for, but it didn’t taste like pistachio at all.
