Went before the hockey game. The tables were super close together but the food was fantastic!
Reviews / Ratings for Lucille's Avenue des Canadiens
tldr: slowest service ever, food was decent food: the $1 oysters are yummy but tiny, so get a lot of them. the steak is alright. fries are pretty good, but like fries are fries. the key lime pie would've been good if it weren't for the extremely salty crust. the creme brulee was good. i would not recomment the cauliflower salad. service: so fricking slow. our server spent all her time entertaining the older gentleman next to us flirting with her. not very professional. it seemed like a packed night too, so maybe spend more time doing your job instead of whatever i was witnessing.
Good place for gathering!
Everything was great. Except you get 4 lamb chops and at Dix 30 you get 6. Tired of restaurants reducing the plates and charging the same and more. Therefore 3 stars!
The restaurant delivers a great overall experience in many respects. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was vibrant, and our waiter provided outstanding, attentive service. Table service was also impressively quick. However, the front door management during event days needs significant improvement. Guests were left waiting in line for over two hours, even while tables appeared to be available inside. This understandably led to frustration, with many people losing patience and leaving. Additionally, the tone at the entrance could be more welcoming. Some interactions came across as dismissive and, at times, rude, which set a negative first impression. A more organized and client-focused approach at the door would go a long way. If the goal is to encourage customers to return, especially on non-event days, it’s important that guests feel valued and well-treated during peak times as well.
I arrived at the second period of a playoff canadien match and they rush me out before the end of the game, food is overrated
Food was far too expensive for what we ordered. Frys were very salty. Meal salad was the size of an entree. Drinks were nice but very overpriced even for downtown prices.
Waited 30 minutes in line only to be told I could come in to eat—but then would have to leave immediately after and get back in line if I wanted to stay and watch the game. When I asked how that made any sense—why someone else could eat and leave but I couldn’t eat and stay—the staff member had no explanation. Just a shrug and “that’s the policy.” If your system is so poorly thought out that even your own staff can’t explain it, maybe it’s time to rethink it. You’re not managing a crowd—you’re just frustrating people who were willing to spend money. Plenty of places know how to handle game nights without making customers feel like they’re being cycled through a revolving door. I won’t be back.
I organized a lunch for my company, 80 people total! The efficiency and communication with their events team was top notch. On site, we got served fast, the food was amazing and fresh (my standards are pretty high 😉). We had an amazing time. I would highly recommend.
Great restaurant great staff, had a lot of fun
We went for dinner after learning our concert was canceled. The restaurant was busy, but the food and drinks were great. The waitress was busy, but the atmosphere was nice.
We ate at Lucille’s and it was the opposite of what we experienced at Bistro 1640 and La Bûche in Quebec City. I got the surf and turf, my wife got salmon, and my daughter got oysters and a lobster roll. None of us felt great after eating it. The starter was a tuna tartare with guacamole and watermelon, but the guacamole completely dominated. You couldn’t taste the tuna. The lobster roll meat was rubbery. If you’ve had a good one in New England, this isn’t that. The salmon was dry. The salads had so much dressing none of us could eat them. My ribs were ok, but there was so much sauce you could barely taste the meat, even after scraping it off. A true disappointment. My daughter then vomited at 1:30am. Would avoid.
What an Excellent restaurant! They have impeccable service (shout out to our server Judy!) and the everything we ordered was amazing. The raw oysters were super fresh, clam chowder was filled with clams, and every steak options we selected (4) were cooked to perfection. Definitely a must visit even in Montreal!
We went here for dinner before the Florence + the Machine Concert on April 15th. The Main Event Caesar was AMAZING and the food was truly delicious and HUGE PORTIONS. We loved the service and kindness, it was well worth it all!
Was served by Catherine for lunch! Good food and excellent service! Will be back
Warm and friendly environment.
VERY satisfied and impressed with the service better than rib and reef !
They have zero communication skills at the door, we waited an hour only to ne told there was another 25 minute wait once we were at the top of the line. Looks like they prioritize looks over experience when it comes to door management. Never going back again.
What a game last night! Pre-drinks are always a good idea at Lucille’s, place is bumping, then a delicious ribeye after the game for the W. Great service thanks.
I rarely write reviews, as I am a frequent customer who usually receives excellent service here. However, I had a disappointing experience two weeks ago. I spoke with a young man named Alex (I believe he is a manager) who was unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. Honestly, the situation would have been handled better without his involvement at this point.
Great place with buck a shuck oysters, nice wine list and lively atmosphere
Lucille’s was a complete disaster. We had a reservation for 7 PM for 8 people and still ended up waiting forever just to be seated, and then over 2 hours for our food to come. Waiting that long is actually ridiculous. what’s the point of a reservation?? The service was terrible. It got so bad they literally switched our waiter mid-meal, and no one seemed to know what was going on. Everything felt disorganized and slow. I went there for my birthday, and somehow they still managed to mess up my order. On top of that, one of my friends has allergies and can’t eat fries because of the oil they use. They still brought the fries out first anyway. We told them it was wrong, and they took it back… only to bring it out AGAIN wrong. Then they claimed they made a new burger in like 2 minutes, which honestly makes it feel like it was probably still contaminated with the fries. Not okay at all when allergies are involved. They also offered him mashed potatoes instead, but didn’t mention there was an extra $10 charge until the bill came. That’s just straight-up misleading. And the bathroom there was a massive duhh in the toilet that smelt like 67 fart bombs. Absolutely disgusting. What’s crazy is I’ve been here before/ after Montreal Canadiens games and never had issues honestly a great resturant, but clearly if it’s not tied to a game night at home, they don’t care. Safe to say I won’t be coming back again.
Food was great, waitress was always making sure we were good.
We were visiting Montreal this past weekend with our two children (ages 2&4). I hadn’t read many reviews about people bringing young children, so wanted to leave one about our excellent experience! All of our food was incredible and the service was amazing! The drinks and food came out very fast which made dining much more enjoyable with young children. Would definitely recommend and will come again next time we visit - you can’t beat the $1 oysters! 😃
Expensive and mediocre
