Louis is an institution in Sherbrooke. They have been going since the 1940s. If you like junk food but not junk capitalism, I suggest you support this local business rather than places like McDonalds. The quality of fries at Louis is much better than McDonalds anyway (or any similar corporate fast food joint) as they are a little crispier and bigger, perfect in a poutine. If you are in Quebec on holiday and you want to try a poutine, Louis is a failsafe option: big portions, the right consistency and flavour of gravy, plenty of cheese curds so rubbery they clean your teeth, and fries of just the right consistency, that do not go too soggy in the gravy. The service is good too, and everything has a slightly old-fashioned and rustic feel. Even the order tickets seem to have an authenticity lacking in McDonalds and similar places (sorry Ronald). They are printed from a machine and not the till. Louis, can I have my free poutine now? (Just joking).

The burgers were okay, very flat, felt small, but a decent price and quick too. The interior is very colourful and feels like early 2000s fast food franchises
