Fantastic cocktails, extensive wine list, and market fresh seafood and meat options. Half the menu isn't on the menu and the specials were delicious. Had an earlier seating at 6:45 and there was a mild bustle about the restaurant but by the time we were finishing our meal, the volume level was way higher from tables full of friends enjoying top tier fine dining, all of them having an audibly great time. Service was excellent. Mike made us feel welcome and cared for and it wasn't just a waiter's veneer. It was actually genuine. Booking my next reservation now.

Love but I miss the Parmesan fries 💔
Absolutely wonderful place. Highly recommend for high quality, treated ingredients and perfect service.
A return visit, to see if things are as good as it used to be. The food is what one might expect of this reputable business: solid diverse offerings, seafood incredibly fresh, but one highlight at this resto is the fantastic service. This might be secondary to some, but we all know how bad service can ruin a good food night. Kudos to the staff for their detailed explanations, attention to details, prompt cleaning and pleasant chatty vibes.
My wife and I had a celebratory dinner at Liverpool House and it exceeded expectations. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable with low lighting—almost like being at a cozy family cottage. The room was lively, with a younger crowd and great energy. The food and service were both exceptional. Our server, Cecilia, was charming, professional, and very knowledgeable. What really stood out was how seamlessly the entire team worked together—multiple servers checked in, and it felt like there was constant communication between the floor and the kitchen. You could tell they were paying close attention to what guests were enjoying (or not), which was impressive to watch. Highlights from the meal: • Oysters to start • A special clam dish with clam chowder baked on top—unbelievably good • Raw scallop—subtle and interesting • A seafood starter that didn’t look like much but tasted like the best kind of homemade cooking • Ribeye with Alexander sauce—rich, buttery, and outstanding (the chicken stock base was a great touch) The wine and cocktails were also excellent. Highly recommend Liverpool House—and if you can, ask for Cecilia. This is a serious restaurant
Food was amazing Our server was very nice. The table next to us was friends with the manager and acting belligerently. They were vaping in the restaurant during our meal and one of them hit me in the head with their elbow. The server felt bad and gave us a free desert….I guess that’s what you get for taking an elbow to the head. Ownership needs to find a new manager. Letting guests behave that rudely at the expense of others is unacceptable.
Absolutely 10/10! Montreal classic that I had been meaning to try forever. Now that I finally tried it I can say it is absolutely worth the hype. The food was insanely good (I’ll be dreaming about the clam chowder clams which was their special for the weekend) and the steak frite was excellent. Service was TOP (Sasha) our waiter was kind, helpful and made us feel so welcome. The rest of the staff (Ben and CiCi) were also amazing and make the whole experience that much better. Shoutout to Ben for singing happy birthday to me it was iconic hahaha. Safe to say this has become one of my top spots, I will 100% be back.
This place is incredible. The Lobster Pasta was outrageous!
I had an exceptionally wonderful experience at the Liverpool House recently. I had dined there several years ago on a business trip and really enjoyed it, so this time around, my mom was with me and I decided to take her here. While the menu has evolved since I came, it retained what made it special - high quality ingredients, very flavourful dishes, none of which felt heavy or too complicated. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also something special - while it is definitely high-end in terms of the food, the setting feels incredibly welcoming, comfortable and unpretentious. My mom doesn't like fussy places and she felt right at home here. Our server - Cecelia (I hope I got her name right) was incredibly attentive, warm and kind. Liverpool House is a must when in Montreal.
Amazing food and friendly service, and they were very accommodation for celiac. Favorites were the lobster pasta and ribeye.
This is arguably the best restaurant in Montreal. Every dish on their menu is fantastic and you can tell how much passion the chef has with each creation. Next time you go, you have to ask to be served by Cecil. SHE IS AMAZING!
we got oysters, the lobster spaghetti and steak frites. Unfortunately the pasta was not worth 74$, but the oysters were great and the steak was okay. the servers were very attentive and the ambiance was amazing
Great vibe, great menu.
The service was above and beyond anything I expected Init, our waiter was so gracious and so attentive and gets a 10 out of 10 from the 4 of us at our table
The atmosphere was amazing as well as cocktails and choice of oysters. Unfortunately main dishes were underwhelming considering how famous this place is for food. Also, we both found it containing too much salt. And we are not shy of salty foods. High quality cuisine normally does not have such prominent salt content.
Food is very good but maybe not quite as much when considering the price. Loved the breakfast sandwich (not sure I've got the name right). I think the lobster pasta is overrated. Waiter was awesome.
We were looking forward to dining here given all the positive word of mouth and reviews, but overall the experience ended up being a bit underwhelming. We ordered the ribeye for two and were told it would be plenty. What arrived was eight sliced strips of steak with no side included, and just three onion rings as garnish. For a dish meant to serve two, it felt a little light. The steak was cooked medium as requested, but it was quite fatty and chewier than expected. It didn’t quite feel like a premium cut, especially at this price point. Sauce on the steak was also very unique and delicious. That said, the service was good and the ambiance was very nice. The staff were attentive and the space has a great atmosphere. Overall, not a bad experience, but for the cost, we were hoping for a bit more.
Always a great experience! Jeremy and William provided above and beyond service. Great team at Liverpool!
Phenomenal service and light and friendly atmosphere. A restaurant where you can actually have a conversation and still enjoy a lovely meal. Every bite was a delight from start to finish. This is a true must have when in Montreal
Great food and good service in a casual atmosphere. The beef tartare and the rib eye were the standout dishes for me but everything was great including the salad and the desert.
Had dinner here after a day of driving from Toronto. The table was cozy. Atmosphere nice. Bustling even. Service attentive and prompt. We had a dozen oysters and the burrata to start. Very good with the house cava. Both decided on two of the specials. The arctic char was delicious. The lamb pie was excellent. I mean perfect. The crust light and flavorful. The meat and gravy cooked perfectly. Seasoned perfectly. Don't know how we managed to have dessert. But that was also great. An excellent meal.
Last October, while traveling in Canada, we had dinner at Liverpool House. It was a meaningful road trip with my husband and my elderly mother, who is close to eighty, and we were very much looking forward to this meal. We arrived around the start of dinner service and the restaurant seemed quiet. We were seated in a small back room with a bar. The food was good and our server was kind, so the meal itself was enjoyable. However, it felt strange that such a popular restaurant was so empty, and during our entire meal, that back room remained almost vacant. As we were leaving, we passed the main dining room and were surprised to see it completely full. We had made an early reservation, yet were not seated there, and no other guests appeared to be directed to the back room. It left us with an uncomfortable feeling that perhaps we were seated separately because we were Asian and dining with an elderly woman dressed rather modestly. At the time, we let it go. But recently, seeing the receipt for a meal that cost over $500, along with a generous tip, brought back that uneasy feeling. I am leaving this review because I have never had a similar experience in New York and anywhere, which made this feel especially strange and upsetting.
