We enjoyed every dish we ordered, unique flavours. Staff were very friendly and attentive!
Truly incredible food! Great place to go and share food with a friend. Delightful flavours. Don't be scared of the warning on the wasabi ceviche - it is sooooo good!
First of all, the service is exceptional. Staff is over the top friendly and knows their menu inside out. Went with some of their recommendations and was not disappointed.Prepare to spend a little more than you’d think - and it’s justified. Each dish popped with flavour at the exception of the Nataing. I was expecting to get more curry coming through with a fuller richness with the pork belly, but it sort of fell flat for me. On the other hand, the Bok Lahong was incredible and fresh, and the spicy fried chicken and Fried Cod were standout dishes to us. Cocktails were great as well. The place has a slight upscale feel, with some hipster vibes.Check it out for some Cambodian inspired cuisine with a twist.
First time trying Cambodian food, and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. Our server took the time to explain the menu to us since it was our first visit and we weren’t sure what to order. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to others.
We had two coconut based curry (fried cod with amok sauce & samlor cari khmer) and I found them overly sweet. They offer only a few vegan options which are average. The yuzu pandan drink tasted only yuzu and the pandan part is a piece of leaf inside as decor yet Lucy Liu cocktail is not bad. Last, beef tartare quality is unstable same as their service attitude. Overall not my cup of tea.
It is very rare I leave one star review but tonight wad very disappointing. Since we entered they told us we had 1.30h to sit and dine. We agreed (a group of 4). The dishes were hit or miss… some were very flavourful like the coconut curry fish and papaya salad. Some were very bland in flavour. What topped it off was the beef tartare. The beef itself wasn’t very fresh and you could taste the old bloody taste of beef (when it is 2-3days old). We told the server that and basically his response is ‘everyone has liked it tonight’ while in the beginning he said ‘i have a few beef tartare left’. It should have been a red flag since he said ‘i have a few left’ and not order it. We felt a bit rushed during the service and two dishes came very late. We had only 10mins to finish them because they were giving eyes to basically finish and leave the table. It’s sad since this place has been hyped by a few friends before.
I've been to this restaurant a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Fresh tasting perfectly spiced food, fun drinks and attentive service. 5 stars
I would recommend this place for a quick drink and a bite , but not for a full course meal. Sharing dishes is fine with us , but the cod and the scallops (42$) were served lukewarm instead of piping hot because they plate the food on cold plates. The taste was delicious. Avoid the beef skewers , poor quality meat , very stringy. The sticky rice was served in a weird little plastic bag, it was just plain rice ….. all and all won’t go back , 200$ later and this being a birthday supper , a bit disappointing… I also mentioned this to the waiter (cold food etc ), nothing … too bad it seems Went early so the noise level was fine..
The atmosphere and the hospitality was amazing, food was top tier, it’s a very precise and detailed space when it’s come to culture, preservation, and cuisine. One of our favorite dishes was stuffed chicken wings, steak with prahok, and the amok . Wide array of traditional dishes while adding a modern twist. Would go again, highly recommend!
Fantastic eatery. Every dish was amazing. My favorite was the bone marrow entree. Still thinking about it. Great service and vibes. Definitely going back.
Normally I really love Street Monkeys and always recommend it to friends when they visit Montreal, but the pre-set menu that is required for groups over 8 really didn’t showcase how good the food can be. I’m glad I requested the wasabi shrimp and I appreciate you accommodating for a pescatarian but I just wasn’t blown away by the food we were given and wish the portions were a little bigger for a group of 10. I think everyone got one single skewer and one chicken wing, and a couple bites of the wasabi shrimp. I understand having to do this for bigger groups but maybe having a menu that the host of the party can pre-select from could be something to consider. Service and wine A+!
Nice place, we went for my wife's anniversary, good service food and ambiance.
The Yuzu Snooze Yuzu loose gin cocktail was delicious—fresh and nicely tangy. We loved it. We shared three dishes between the two of us and it was more than enough. The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy, followed by the squid, which was perfectly tender and just as good. We then had the fried rice special with Hokkaido scallops—four large scallops served with a really tasty lemony sauce on the side. For dessert, we shared the dessert of the day: a tapioca pudding with pumpkin and chantilly on top (we asked for it without cinnamon). It was light, sweet, and a great way to end the meal. Service was efficient and friendly. And our waiter knew how to explain the menu and the ingredients perfectly.
Truly in a league of their own. Easily in my top 3 restaurants in the city. Fun to go to on a date, with friends, with family, or with coworkers. The food is of the highest quality and the service is impeccable. The owners are wonderful and very involved in the business which gives the restaurant a personal charm.
It was my second time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Staff is very knowledgeable and service is impeccable. The food is delicious and portions are very decent. We were a group of 5 and will definitely return.
Food was phenomenal, service was great, and cannot wait to come back!
Delicious, service was great.
Les Street Monkeys is one of our favourite places. The food is so off the wall fabulous. Such original food recipes. Always consistantly good ( A most important point ) The service is spot on to the point where your water glass is always full. The service people are so lovely and the patrons all smiley and happy enjoying their food. Must tries... Shrimp Ceviche, Pepper Squid, Fried Chicken... Well everything really... Lol
The service was exceptional- good advice, very patient, every plat described with detail. Very polite. Just regret that tasting menu didn’t include a small sweet ending.
