Breakfast options in this town are mostly chains, and since this is the one of the few names I recognized from Montreal, I traveled a bit outside the center to find this spot. It’s a chill, spacious setup that serves actual plated breakfasts, not just grab and go carbs. I went with the Western Omelette and a Chocolate Pain Suisse. Despite being there right at opening, the pastry didn’t exactly taste fresh (maybe the sub-zero temps stiffened it up..?) Still acceptable, just not the warm morning stuff I was expecting. The omelette was standard. A little flat on the fluffiness factor, but the side dish was a nice upgrade. Instead of generic home fries, they serve pomme de terre dauphinoises (cheesy potato tart). It was my first time trying it, and I liked the oven-baked golden crust and its cheesy aroma.
