Ordered take out. Food was great and happy to find authentic Xinjiang style lamb. Small note regarding ordering the big chicken plate for take-out. Even well wrapped, the sauce would over flow, and the paper bag wouldn't hold it. I recommend putting half the sauce in a separate container.
What guests say about Le Taklamakan
Taklamakan receives very positive reviews for its tasty Uyghur cuisine, often described as authentic, with generous dishes like noodles, chicken, dumplings, and lamb skewers. The service is generally considered warm and friendly, and many customers also like the simple, peaceful atmosphere. One review does mention a bad experience related to closing time, so it’s best to check before going late in the evening.

Restaurant roulette brought me here, the great taste will bring me back. While I have no benchmark to judge the cuisine from this culture, it felt that the meal we enjoyed was felt true and uncompromised: lamb skewers were earthy, dry noodles fragrant and warmly spicy. Looking forward to explore the other menu offerings.
Very good spot for Uyghur cuisine. Super nice staff and great food! A family meal/meal sharing environment that is at a great price for the portion and quality given.
Le Taklamakan is hands-down my favourite restaurant in LaSalle, and every visit reminds me why. We ordered the chopped noodles, the big chicken plate, lamb kebabs, and dumplings - and everything was outstanding. The chopped noodles had that perfect chewy texture, the big chicken plate was generous and packed with flavour, the lamb kebabs were beautifully seasoned, and the dumplings were simply delicious. Uyghur cuisine doesn't get enough attention in Montreal, and Le Taklamakan is doing it justice. What makes the experience even better is the staff - genuinely warm and welcoming every single time. You feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. If you haven't been, do yourself a favour and go. This place is a gem.
Amazing place , friendly staff and wonderful food . Try the home made cheeze cake at the end. So delicious.
They had a sign that said they closed at 9 pm, but we arrived at 8 pm. They told us to leave, and said closed.
Their pilaf is the best in town and their handmade noodles are amazing. Highly recommend it.
If you want home cooked meal. This is the place. Delicious food . Good service. Friendly owner.
Good food, all the food is good. U can close ur eyes and point to something and u wont be disappointed.
Our first time to experience Uyghur cuisine . It was a splendid surprise. Small restaurant. Great service. Delicious food. We shared Samsa (stuffed with lamb), which was good but slightly dry, a dip option would have preferred. Then we got this chicken dish with noodles, potatoes and bell peppers. It was so good, and slightly spicy (if you are tolerant). It was a huge dish, perfect for sharing. I definitely recommend this lovely place.
I never eat inside and take-out food is incredibly great!
Absolutely one of the best Uyghur food in Montreal ,the best of the best! The flavors are incredible and deeply authentic. The staff, especially Adil, are super friendly and gave us perfect recommendations. We ate until we could barely move everything was so delicious! We didn't have room to try it all, so we'll definitely be back soon.
