*update* Been here three separate occasions now! The best poutine, awesome fresh rotating menu, and an incredible owner who performed a fire show for us, front row at the fireplace! Will definitely be back!

Family loves going to Rustique, like a true step back in time for Laurentian cabin vibes, good times and friendly people. Ask about the trophies on the walls! This trip we had a reservation issue, but thanks to Ross the Boss, he took care, and has the family seated by the fire and was perfect. When in the area don’t hesitate, from quicker cocktail at the bar, to quaint table in resto (even live music, check for it) and big groups and kid friendly in the back.

What a fantastic gem to run across! We weren't there long but long enough for a great experience. Very cool room, great atmosphere. The owner super friendly - offered sample of their craft beer & wine. Didn't eat but menu super appealing!

Save your money. 11/10 would NEVER recommend. It is overpriced and the food is awful. Go somewhere else.

BEWARE!  Your reservation at this restaurant is meaningless!!!  I made my reservation 2 weeks prior to arrival.  It was confirmed with the restaurant.  When I arrived at the restaurant on time for my reservation the owner (white hair older gentleman with a beard), greeted me at the front door, looked around the floor of the dining room and saw that there were no available tables so tried to sit me in the bar height table next to the bar.  I advised him that my reservation was for a table in the Dining room and I did not want to sit at a bar height table with my family.  With zero customer service etiquette the owner rudely replied to me and said that the bar height table is a table so my reservation is technically still being honoured.  I replied that I was not interested in the bar height table as it was far removed from the Dining room.  He then hastily grabbed 2 spare dining room tables and sat me and my family right in front of the entrance door.  I had to wear my parka to eat dinner as the coming and going of patrons opening the door brought a cold chilly breeze every time.  After we ordered our food (burgers and a Caesar salad) it took 1.25 hours for our food to arrive on our table.  No apologies or updates, our Server only wanted to know if we wanted to order another round of alcoholic drinks.  The cherry on top for this disappointing experience at this restaurant was the fact that the food was bloody awful!  If your idea of a great night out is to eat at a restaurant that has a crusty and rude owner, reservations are ignored, and you wait forever for food that tastes awful then Le Rustique is your place.  If not, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Ouch — we’re sorry to read that your experience felt this way. We did honor your reservation promptly. When you arrived, we offered you either a table that was already set or the option to wait a few minutes while we prepared another table for you. The bar area and the table you are referring to are actually both part of the dining room. The high-top table we offered for immediate seating and the table you ultimately chose were only about 15 feet apart. Our dining room layout is mainly composed of tables for two, which we routinely combine to accommodate groups of four. In fact, we only have two tables that are not designed for two guests: the high-top table offered to you and one table for six. The table you were seated at was approximately 10 feet from the front door, similar to several other tables nearby. That evening we served more than 100 guests. Orders are sent to the kitchen and prepared sequentially, and during busy periods there can unfortunately be some waiting time. It was also a particularly busy Thursday during the U.S. holiday week (President’s Week). We’re sorry that our food did not meet your expectations. Fortunately, many of our other guests seem to have had a very different experience, as reflected in the majority of our reviews. Regarding the comment about the “old grumpy owner with the bread” — yes, that would be me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, though others often describe the experience quite differently. I am genuinely sorry that you did not enjoy your visit. My team and I work very hard to make each guest’s experience memorable for the right reasons, so reading feedback like this is always disappointing.

The best part of our whole trip was coming to Le Rustique! We came here for dinner our first night and had such an incredible dinner that we ended up coming back our last night to grab some drinks and take advantage of the pool table, AND to get another taste of their incredible “poor man’s pudding” dessert. The owner, “Ross the boss” is a gem and made our experience so lovely and welcoming! This place is truly a great find and I would give it 6 stars if I could! 10000/10!

Not a great experience for our family. Some food items were decent but mostly very underwhelming and overpriced for what you got. Our server was friendly but service was incredibly slow. We ate at so many great places during our trip to Canada but this restaurant was very disappointing. I don’t recommend.
