Maybe not the type of place that everyone would enjoy but we loved it. We were visiting some friends from Blainville and they planned an evening at Jardin. We arrived in the Terrebonne neighbourhood just about the same time that people were arriving to attend the local theatre for the evening performance which made parking a bit of an issue. Once parked, we made our way to what had undoubtedly been someone's home on Rue Saint-Marie. Inside we found a casual, relaxed environment that had a busy vibe. Our table was perched on the upstairs stairway landing, with a low ceiling and tight seating, but quite comfortable. Our server, Antony, was attentive but not pushy. The food started with a cheese fondue with each of us having our own dipping options and fondue forks with amazing flavours and a relaxed approach to the meal. When we had finished that part of the evening, the broth fondue entrée was tabled. Each couple had their own pot and each person had their own plate of vegetable and protein options. We had chicken, shrimp, scallops along with carrots, broccoli and several other vegetable options to cook in the hot broth. Its the kind of meal that allows you to relax, take your time, converse and enjoy your food. Cost with wine and coffee, tax and tip included, was $150.00 per person.
