A friend who we were dining with recommended this very lovely, Michelin Guide-listed restaurant. The place had a really nice ambience, was very well presented, and the service was very friendly and efficient. The menu took a little explaining, but then we had such a great choice of wonderfully created dishes. Eventually, I settled on: - Lamb moussaka + mornay + eggplant + tomato coulis + chip -Trottole al limone + parmesan + mascarpone + tarragon + hazelnut - Baked Alaska + frozen parfait + italian meringue + blueberry The moussaka was rich and full of flavour, with shredded lamb. A great way to start. The trotolle pasta was deliciously cheesy, but fresh and lemony. The baked Alaska was very nicely done. What a great meal! Highly recommended. Reviews / Ratings for Le Clocher Penché
We were a party of four vacationing in Quebec. Our mocktails were tasty(did not miss the alcohol) and the flavors in our appetizers and entrees took us on a journey! Wait staff was attentive and charming. A 5 star experience!
Fantastic service and incredible food! I got the Lions Mane mushroom dish which was an immensely creative combination of flavor and texture. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. I’d recommend eating here before they inevitably get a Michelin Star and it becomes super popular.
Small but concise menu of good items, nice pairings, things naturally flow. Little more expensive then expected but a good lil spot for date night.
We have frequently dined at Le Clocher Penché over the last 10 years, sometimes several times in one year. The food experience has varied somewhat over time - as would happen in any dining establishment - but we have never had a regretful meal, something we cannot likewise claim regarding many well-known restaurants in town. The last several meals over at least two years have been consistently quite satisfying after a brief adjustment period associated with the change in kitchen leadership. Happily, the high standards established in years past remain intact. There are always good wine options and the staff is more than willing to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. So Le Clocher Penché remains one of our most reliable 'go to' places to dine. I will return soon!
Amazing food and great atmosphere
It was a great dinner, really interesting and delicious food, a helpful lovely server, pretty dining room just a bit loud.
Professional but friendly service, super dishes done with a creative touch which we did by sharing. Wines for all tastes, very fairly priced. Will be our first choice next time in Québec City.
The food was flavorful and satisfying.
Delicious food and excellent service! We had a wonderful time.
This little gem is a must! We found it by chance and decided to try it out as it was just down from where we were staying. Absolutely amazing in all spectators. Food, service, atmosphere, drinks and genuine great vibe.
wonderful
A different type of cuisine, fusion of French food with exotic flavors. Our server explained each item on the menu expletively and even suggested some entrees and mains, which turned out to be great
Everything here is more than perfect. From the gracious, kind service to the delicious food and the creativity, we enjoyed our evening!!!!
A wonderful experience. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was excellent—thoughtfully crafted with fresh and delicious ingredients. We had the oysters, moussaka and homemade pasta and all of them were superb. Great music, beautiful atmosphere, cozy and convivial. Highly recommend. Note that the expense per person includes two mains, one shared dessert (crème brûlée—excellent) 2 high-quality beers and a glass of pinot noir plus tip.
An absolutely perfect meal. All of the dishes were delicious and a great value, the service was impeccably attentive and kind, the restaurant is stylish and lively without being loud. An absolutely perfect start to our vacation in Quebec. (And everyone was very kind about our lack of French!)
Incredible experience from beginning to end. We received Le Clocher Penche as a recommendation by one of the servers at Mon Lapin in Montreal. Upon arrival, we had a welcoming and informative server who was kind enough to translate in English for us since our French wasn't very good. All of our dishes were delicious and same with the cocktails and local Quebecois wine I tried. Would love to come here again any time I visit Quebec City.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff! Look forward to going back.
Very creative menu. Great food and service.
Wonderful service and delicious food! The steak tartare and scallop ceviche were incredible, as was the guinea fowl. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious. Very nice dishes delicately made. Tuna pastrami and the bone marrow were amazing. Good mix of meat and non meat offerings. Service was good, maybe tiny little bit slow. Great wine selection.
wonderful experience. Service was attentive, the atmosphere was beautiful, warm, cozy and contemporary. Most importantly they earned their Michelin recommendation. The food was delicious, and the portions perfect. We had the moussaka and the lamb was tender and delicious, the soup, a creamy potato leek and bean was fantastic, and the fish of day, artic char was excellent. We will be back.
An absolute pleasure for the entire evening. Wonderful atmosphere, not too loud, a fine way to dine. The food was fabulous, every bite was a taste sensation and they were very helpful in assisting with a nice wine to pair with our meal. Would absolutely go again
Quite a delight of a meal. Service was excellent and food was quite delicious.
Very interesting modern restaurant, bright interior and great staff. It is a bit cramped in spots but keeps a cozy vibe. The food is excellent, I really enjoyed the scallop ceviche and Guinea fowl which had great balance and structure. Would definitely return!
