The service is often described as attentive, professional, and warm, and the atmosphere is generally seen as beautiful, cozy, and pleasant. Great dining experience with a wonderful wait staff. Everything was absolutely delicious: high marks for the Maritake starter, the Morel appetizer and the fish of the day. The cod was perfectly cooked. Will be back again whenever we're in Quebec.
We had a meal to remember at Clocher Penche! From start to finish — tres bon!!!
Every waiter, waitress, and manager is courteous and friendly.
Excellent food with lots of taste. To my taste the Kato cocktail would benefit of 1 drop less of cucumber. Will certainly go back.
I really enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant! The food was amazing!
Everything was good from beginning to end. You have to try the maitake. Excellent service.
I stumbled upon this restaurant on a blog and made a reservation immediately. They’re not open for very long. They have Small plates that are very specialized. The cocktail I had, the Tokyo, was incredibly balanced and tasty. The food took a while to arrive but it was very good. We had the bread with butter, the foie gras (not my favorite but my parents liked it), and for main dishes we had the fish of the day, the pasta, and the lion’s mane mushroom. Each dish had an incredible amount of flavor. I enjoyed that the most
We had a lovely anniversary dinner here. The service was excellent and allowed us to take our time there. The cocktails were fabulous, food was unique and flavorful. The restaurant space was very quaint and cozy with a view of the kitchen.
Excellent 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽!!!!!!!!
Absolutely the best meal we had in Quebec and my favorite meal during our time in Montreal and Quebec City. We went for my mother’s birthday and every dish was memorable and well made. We got 4 drinks, the bread & compound butter, the fried maitake, the foie gras, a lemon pasta, the lobster and pork, and the cod. The baked Alaska was also fantastic for desert. Everything was delicious. Enjoyed it so much I even cleaned the plate of things I don’t typically like. Our reservation was at 9 and service was fantastic. The price was also shockingly affordable. We were joking that the price is the same as fast food back home. I’ve spent way more in Austin, Texas where the food was nowhere near as inspiring. We are talking about trying to remake some of the dishes when we get back to the states. Would come back again!
Delicious , accommodating and we will visit again !
Intimate resturant with friendly staffs. Food was delicious and prepared to perfection.
Absolutely loved our experience here. From the moment we walked in when the table was a bit delayed to the final dessert. Everything was performed to excellence. Our table of six enjoyed oysters, tartar, maitake, fois gras, faisselle, crème brûlée, and many more. Cocktails were fantastic and the wine selection super. Service was great, and we felt welcomed by the staff.
Wow! We found this place on Google and knew very little before arriving. We are very glad to have found it as the experience was outstanding. All of the dishes were utterly delicious, the wine (a local Quebec wine) was sensational and the service, especially from Mélanie, was exemplary. Mélanie was an expert in every aspect of every dish and made fantastic recommendations about both the food and wine. Our highlights were the beef tongue starter, the pork belly and lobster, the trottole plaster (a real dark horse) and the baked Alaska. We wish we were staying for longer so we could try everything else on the menu. Ridiculously good value for money - do not miss the opportunity!
Lion’s mane was out of this world. Cool spot, very friendly waitstaff.
Hands down one of the best dining experiences of our trip! The preparation and presentation of the food was very unique. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. When you arrive to a restaurant for a timed booking, have to wait a few minutes and are being offered a complimentary glass of bubbles for the “inconvenience”, you know that you will be in for a treat in how customer service is done well. Our waitress was on top of everything. Very busy but still incredibly helpful and lovely to chat to. It’s not a quick in and out, but for us that was the joy in the evening. Just sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, admire the work of the chefs in the open-plan kitchen and enjoy the outstanding food, cocktails and wine. SUPERB!
We had a wonderful dining experience at Le Clocher Penché during our visit to Quebec City. The restaurant has beautiful interior design and the customer service was warm and attentive throughout the evening. We ordered the fried mushrooms, bread with compound butter, lion’s mane mushroom dish, and the fish of the day, which was halibut. The staff was incredibly accommodating with my dietary restrictions and kindly substituted the nduja sauce with a salsa verde instead. The salsa verde was fresh, vibrant, full of texture, and paired perfectly with the fish. It ended up being one of my favourite dishes from the entire trip. We also really enjoyed the bread and compound butter along with the lion’s mane dish. The fried mushrooms were good, though we felt the batter absorbed a bit too much oil and could have benefited from more crunch to better highlight the flavour of the mushrooms themselves. For dessert, we tried both the baked Alaska and the salted crème brûlée. Although the presentation of the crème brûlée could have been a bit better, the flavour was excellent. The addition of sea salt gave it a unique twist that made it stand out from a traditional crème brûlée. Overall, this was a memorable meal with thoughtful service, creative dishes, and a beautiful atmosphere. We would gladly return on a future visit to Quebec City.
We didn’t love this place. The service was unbelievably slow, the food mediocre, and when we tipped under 15%, the waiter had the audacity to argue with us over it. 0/10 would not recommend.
Food wasn’t great.. service was very slow.. only to be met with a rude server who didn’t like that I left him a $10 tip despite his awful service..
good food and nice atmospehere. Had a lobster and pork: the pork was simply delicious and so tender that I would only recommend that dish!
Very good atmosphere and service. Terrific wine and oysters. There was a great geeen sauce with it that was special and the oysters were fresh and different from what I am used to. I was slightly disappointed with my main course - pork belly and lobster. It was slightly tasteless - fixed by addition of the green sauce but the pork belly was dry and the sauce did not correct that. Overall a good experience though.
Excellent dining experience! Food was different and delectable. Service was spot on.
Coming to Quebec City for the first time, I found Le Clocher Penche on Trip Advisor - which once again proved reliable. My friend and I had a wonderful meal in a comfortable environment with great staff. The steak tartare appetizer has to be called out - it is the best I have ever had anywhere! We both also enjoyed great cocktails and well chosen wines by the glass.
Excellent wait staff! Delicious food. Attention to detail and allergies.
