We popped in since we were staying at the Château Frontenac and it was fairly busy because of the upcoming St. Patrick’s day parade. The staff were very accommodating as we had a sleeping baby in a stroller and made it very easy for us to sit and grab a quick lunch. We menu is interesting enough. Very heavy, for the most part, but broad enough. My only disappointment was no children’s menu. Even just a small portion of salad with a sliced chicken breast would have worked well. But we were able to manage. Our food was fine. I had a chicken sandwich that was nicely prepared and had interesting flavors. My husband had a poutine bowl that he really enjoyed and I agree, the sauce was excellent. I wasn’t overly impressed with my cocktail but that’s fine. It was still barely noon :) We’d stop in here again if we were in the area and needed something quick. Particularly because the staff were so great.
Reviews / Ratings for Le Chic Shack
This is a nice burger place very close to the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.if you want a reasonably priced good tasting burger and fried instead of an overpriced full menu meal this is an excellent choice. We had the La chic burger and fries. The regula fry order m is plenty for two people. Their Boreale beer is excellent as well. We enjoyed the service and the meal thank you
Wonderful food, service, atmosphere!
Nice view of the Chateau
We stumbled Shack upon the Le Chic Shack accidentally and what a Win. We just finished driving from Nova Scotia and we’re starving and we’re doing a tour of old Quebec city found this wonderful place to eat which I would highly recommend for anyone, Two of us had the breakfast poutine, which was very filling and very tasteful and the other two had the Americano breakfast. The coffee was excellent and The fresh fruit Blueberries and strawberries, chopped up served With the breakfast Was a wonderful dessert and very fresh. Very accommodating staff even loaned us a charger for our phone, and the chef spoke English very well as well as the waitress. Can’t wait to come back again here someday.
First time trying poutine, and I quite enjoyed it! I got the “La Forestière” and a chocolate milkshake. Both were delicious, and the portion sizes were large (even the “small” was very filling). I would recommend to anyone wanting poutine, first time or many times, as they have a variety of flavors.
The best poutine ever with goat cheese, mushrooms 🍄 and herbs on top.... so creamyyyy... the portions were pretty big as well. the service was pretty fast and the environment was amazing as well...
Love the food and service every time that I am in town. The mushroom poutine is to die for. F.Y.I., if you want to try the hot sauce, the original is probably the one to go.
Le Chic Shack was a solid 10/10 experience. The Shack burger was incredibly juicy and full of flavor, and the bison burger was just as good. ❤️❤️❤️ Everything tasted fresh and well made. Definitely a must-try in Quebec City.
Went here with my son and we honestly had very tasty food + their GF buns are top-notch
5 Stars for the location, 3 Stars for the poutine. If you’re a foodie on a quest for the city's absolute best cheese curds, you might want to keep searching. However, if you want the best seat in the house, this is it. It is the perfect spot for a first-timer to sit down, grab a meal, and take in the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac—arguably the most beautiful landmark in Canada. It’s definitely worth the stop for that atmosphere alone! The food itself is a bit of a mixed bag: The Poutine: The fries are closer to a homemade breakfast potato style—still very tasty, but not your traditional homestyle fries do you expect to hive in Quebec city or the province or Quebec. If you're looking for that classic "greasy spoon" crunch, this isn't quite it. The Burgers: These were the surprise highlight! Absolutely delicious, juicy, and well-prepared. Final Verdict: Come for the iconic view of the Chateau, stay for a burger. and maybe try Poutine somewhere else unless you're really hungry and it's still better than any other poutine in Canada outside of Quebec.
Great restaurant
Mid food mid service premium prices
Had a great experience as a family at the chic shack. Super kind servers and really delicious food.
Delicious burgers, wonderful service & great atmosphere!! Absolutely recommend.
Went there due to an extremely positive review in an article on how to spend a 3-day vacation in Quebec City. It was an utterly disappointing experience with the food. We had the weirdest classic poutine, and below average burgers with poor choice of unappealing smelly cheese. Even the chocolate milkshake tasted bland and lacking the taste and color of chocolate. The fries were alright though, but that's about it.
To preface, I visited Québec with my French Canadian girlfriend and my Dutch friend who used to live in NB but now lives in the Netherlands. Stopped at this restaurant to potentially get lunch but first my friend needed to urgently, and quickly use the restroom. There was no one at the front desk so I told him to go and then we’d get seated together after. A male, dark haired, server came to seat us, we explained that we were waiting for a friend to be seated and then he went on to talk about how this was not a public restroom, and that there’s one across the street… clearly not understanding that we wanted to be seated, and that we were waiting for our friend. I understood the point of view and apologized, so did my friend. But this left a bad taste that lingered throughout our holiday in Québec. Clearly customer service is not this establishment’s forte. Merci beaucoup.
Great burgers and cold drinks with a nice outdoor patio for enjoying the beauty of Old Quebec City.
All the employees are friendly and the poutine is peak
My fellow Canadians, on behave of all our crying ancestors, I apologise. The American reviews are too strong. They should call it -2.0 poutine for the fact it wasn’t a poutine. I thought my bush was filthy, wait until you have the le braisée.
I absolutely fell in love with this branch! The location is stunning, especially with those massive glass windows offering a breathtaking view of the Fairmont. It’s mesmerizing to just sit there and take in the scenery. The experience was made even better by their Poutine—it was delicious and honestly one of the best local dishes I’ve tasted in Quebec. Highly recommended! In short, it was a piece of heaven and I was lucky to be served by two beautiful angels called Mélia and Sara
Rated as a high end poutinerie and diner. I got the braised beef poutine. Superb. Great service. And located right in the heart of old Quebec coose to the tourist attractions. Interior has a nice vintage vibe, and the staff are super friendly
Good food, even better service! Thank you to the kind, tall, blond gentleman who ensured that we had the best experience possible! Also, gluten-free options.
Great lunch there. Two of us had burgers and one had a salad. Staff were great!
Salted caramel maple whiskey milkshake was awesome. Bison burger was great, but I feel like it could have been better (the meat and the buns. Either make a smash burger or don't cook it so thoroughly. The fillings were perfect). I like that they make their own sodas although I didn't get to try them. My biggest issue is that the price is insane. Spent $50 for a burger and drink for 1 person, didn't even get fries
