Genuinely one of the warmest and most friendly restaurants I've been to in Montreal. The food was authentic and of high quality. It's also a great value where you can try a bit of a few different things. Will for sure be back!

A little chaotic, but DELICIOUS. Service felt like going to someone's home. We came with a big group and though we had a reservation, they seemed to have no record of it, telling us to wait another ten minutes three times in a row. We eventually got a table and it ended up being worth the wait! Seating was a bit of a challenge, but they figured out some creative solutions for us (including bringing over a push cart when we ran out of table space). It was sweet, and everyone in our party seemed to enjoy the randomness of the situation. The restaurant owners and wait staff seemed a little stressed out by the size of our party since the place is very small and it was a busy night, but ultimately were really accommodating. They didn't ask if we wanted the prix fixe meal, just sort of assumed, but it was a delectable feast and in the end it was more than worth the price. It was kind of fun not knowing what delicious item would come out next. A truly memorable experience. Some of the best food I've ever had, honestly. They wouldn't let us leave without dessert, which was stuffed dates, and tea and fruit, which they brought on a big tray overflowing with grapes and clementines and strawberries and let us pick whatever we wanted. Everyone in our party were all happy and very full by the end of the meal and it kind of felt like going to your uncle and aunt's house, where they are slightly disorganized but very caring and extremely good cooks.

I called to ask if they were halal, and each time I asked, they would hang up on me. I thought it was an accident until they did it again. Very strange and unprofessional behaviour. If it's not halal, just say it's not...why hang up?

If a restaurant has a bad service then its definitely a big NO for me. They charge a fair amount for their plates and still they cant manage their restaurant properly or have a good service

I am not sure why they were not honest about mentioning if they have available seats for reservations or not! They caused a crowd in front of their door because people came at their reserved time and found no available seats and they had children and had to wait outside in the cold. Gladly, we simply just left the space. The space inside is really small and they should know well there limited capacity the shop can handle.

The macarona bechamel took me back home. The knafeh was fresh, so out of this world! The owners are also so hospitable and friendly, lovely place overall.

We were really shocked and disappointed! They told us that there were available reservations at 6:30 for two families during ramadan. When we went there at 6:30 , we found out not even a single empty chair available. And they told us people have just arrived and they asked us to wait outside in the cold for at least half an hour when we were on empty stomach. Not only that! They didnt even apologize to us or offer anything to this problem they caused us. I still dont understand why they tell people that they have available seats when they actually didnt. There were lots of families with children waiting outside in the cold whom were told the same thing.

Everything at Le Chef was amazing! Our group had the Ramadan buffet, everything tasted incredibly and it was like it was never ending we were so full. They go above and beyond to accommodate your party, they want you here! All the employees care about your needs and are incredibly hospitable.

Went in a large group and got the Ramadan buffet. Very cozy space but they will make space for you! Everything was so delicious and the staff was very hospitable. The amazing food just kept coming! Lovely family and homey atmosphere!
