That’s always my first place to go to once i crave fish with my family ofc and their service is more than perfect they’re always on time to take our orders and the food always comes on time unless it’s busy which is normal and many employees have told us it’s better to make a reservation ahead of time bcuz the weekends it gets rlly busy .

This place was one of the best seafood experience I've had. The quality of the dishes were fantastic. From start to finish, every dish was cooked to perfection. Only thing is that the table numbers are confusing and that most waiter/waitresses spend time finding the correct tables (not sure why the tables don't have a fixed number so it's easier to manage). I don't work there so they must have a reason. We all had a great time and great food.

Extremely disappointing experience at Le Canal. The young male employee we dealt with was incredibly rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. He told my mother to order first and promised us a table afterward. However, once we placed our order, he refused to seat us despite plenty of empty tables being available. To make matters worse, customers who arrived after us were given tables immediately. This is unacceptable customer service. We followed his instructions and were treated with complete disrespect while other customers were accommodated without any issue. Management seriously needs to address this employee’s behavior. A restaurant should make its customers feel welcome, not humiliated. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Le Canal.

Sorry for your experience however it’s always recommended that you reserve a table in the weekend. Customer who has reservation got seated first.

Seriously, it’s the kind of sauce that makes you want to dip absolutely everything in it and not waste a single drop! Love the bold flavours, the satisfying messiness of a good seafood feast, and the pure joy of eating with your hands. Sometimes the best meals aren’t the fanciest ones, but the ones that make you forget about everything else and just enjoy every bite! Definitely coming back for more! 🦀✨

Went there yesterday with two friends (three of us) — really satisfied overall, everything we ordered tasted great. The highlight is the tiger prawns, and we tried both preparations: Spicy tiger prawns: firm, snappy texture with a bold heat that doesn't overpower the shrimp — appetizing and addictive, the sauce is great with rice. Grilled tiger prawns: perfectly cooked, shells lightly charred while the meat stays juicy and tender, with a lovely smoky aroma. A must for anyone who loves the natural flavor of shrimp. Both styles are excellent in their own way — if you love shrimp, order both, you won't regret it. The three of us had a wonderful meal. This is a place I'd happily come back to. Highly recommended!

We have ordered from Le Canal for many years and always loved it. This time, we were disappointed with the fried calamari. They were too big, the batter did not stick and they were chewy. We hope this was a one time issue because this was not the way we had them in the past.

A reservation is highly recommended to get a table. You must order your food at the seafood counter and they weigh it and either grill or deep fry jt. The fired calamari was battered and deep fried and served with a cocktail and a tartar sauce. We also had giant black tiger shrimp fried in a spicy sauce and grilled sea bream. The shrimps were delicious and served with the shell on. The sea bream seemed a little dry and wasn't as delicate as you would expect of this type of fish. The salad was a basic iceberg lettuce salad with tomatoes cucumbers and red onions dressed with oil vinegar and some herbs. The rice was not very good at all. The restaurant is very busy and resembles a fast food restaurant. But the prices are very reasonable.

My wife discovered Le Canal on Boulevard Saint-Jean in Pierrefonds, and since I'm always up for trying a new seafood place, it didn't take much convincing. It turned out to be a great find. The restaurant is both a dining room and a fish market, and the concept is simple: you choose your seafood from the fresh display, it's priced by weight, and the kitchen prepares it for you. Grilled whole fish and shellfish are the focus, cooked with classic seasonings like olive oil, lemon and garlic that let the seafood speak for itself. The freshness is what really sets this place apart. It is very likely the freshest seafood I've had at a restaurant in Montreal, and you can taste it in every bite. Everything we ate was delicious, so come hungry. Ordering by weight also makes it easy to put together exactly the kind of meal you want to share around the table. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Given the quality and freshness of the seafood, I felt the value was very good. One thing to know before you go is that it gets very busy. I'd strongly recommend making a reservation, because without one you may not get a table. Even with the crowd, the food didn't take too long to arrive, which was impressive considering how full the dining room was. The table service itself is fairly basic. Staff bring your food, but there isn't much beyond that. Honestly, with how busy the place is, I understand it, and it didn't take away from the meal. You're really here for the seafood, and on that front Le Canal delivers. If you love seafood and appreciate freshness above all else, this is a spot worth seeking out. Book ahead, bring an appetite and enjoy some of the best seafood I've found in the city.
