Recently discovered this place and I love it! Delicious food and drinks, great ambiance, and very friendly staff. Will go back for sure!

My experience at Le BBQ was disappointing. I want to be clear that the food was great, well presented and enjoyable. My issue was entirely with the service. I visited with three friends during lunch, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite this, our server, Zackarie, was often distracted, spending more time talking to two people at the bar than doing his job. We had to try multiple times to get his attention, even though he was only a short distance away. The situation got worse when it came time to pay. Two of us paid and tipped without any issues. When a third friend paid and left a smaller tip, Zackarie tried to pressure him to tip more. When my friend declined, Zackarie reacted by swearing in French (“tabarnak”). At that point, our fourth friend—who hadn’t paid yet—decided not to tip after witnessing that behavior. Zackarie then confronted both of them and even called out those of us who had already paid, attempting to make us feel guilty about our tips. I’ve never experienced this kind of behavior in a professional setting. I understand tipping culture since I work as a cook in a restaurant myself, but tips are earned through service—they are not a right. Because of the service alone, I would not return or recommend this restaurant despite the quality of the food.

Our server Zack made us feel welcome and gave great suggestions! Smoked wings, smoked ribs, smoked pulled pork on point. Burnt ends, cheddar jalapeno corn bread rolls and jerk chicken with rice and peas perfection . Warm cost atmosphere with ample micro brew and tasty cocktails.

Came here with a group and spent around $300 on a BBQ platter. Food was solid, no complaints there. Service was a different story. Our server was pouring water from what looked like a personal metal flask/water bottle instead of proper service ware, which already felt a bit off for a place like this. On top of that, I asked for ice twice and never got it. The worst part was the payment. I left a small tip, and the server immediately started questioning it in front of everyone. He kept pushing and even suggested what I “meant” to tip, which made things really uncomfortable. Then it escalated further. He started speaking aggressively in French and clearly swearing about us. At that point it just felt completely unprofessional and honestly disrespectful. I understand tipping is common, but pressuring customers over it and reacting like that is not acceptable. Definitely left a bad impression after what should have been a good time.

Regarding the water bottles: what you saw are insulated bottles we use to serve filtered cold water efficiently at the table. They are part of our service setup, not personal staff items — though we appreciate the comment, it gave us a smile 😊 For the ice, that is clearly an oversight on our end. I will follow up with the team to make sure we tighten that detail. Now, regarding the interaction around the tip — I want to sincerely apologize for how that situation made you feel. The way it escalated and the tone described do not reflect the level of professionalism and respect we expect, and I will personally address this with the team member involved. To provide some context (not as an excuse, but for transparency), our team operates in a tip-based system where gratuities are shared with both service and kitchen staff. In this particular case, a very minimal tip was left on a large bill (approximately $300+), which can sometimes lead a server to believe there may have been a mistake or that something was wrong with the experience. In those situations, some may try to clarify. That said, this must always be done with tact and respect. Creating discomfort or reacting emotionally is not acceptable, and on this, we clearly missed the mark. At BBQ Shop, we aim to deliver a warm, professional and memorable experience from start to finish. Feedback like yours is taken seriously and helps us improve. We also believe that the best outcomes come from mutual respect, and that situations like this are always easier to resolve in the moment so we can make things right immediately. Very good service, Matt Took his time to explain the menu for a first comer, he suggested a very good fruity drink the way I like them, then an incredible burger with spicy slaw and fries with a dip, great overall experience, would come back. And for reference I tried a lot of burgers, but this one was one of the best i've ever tried, you can tell the ingredients are all fresh, especially the meat.

EXCELLENT melt in your mouth meat and one of the best mac n cheese around. Everything they do is great. Small place with huge ambience. You can sit at the bar and watch them make cool cocktails, even some sports on the TV. Highly recommended.

Delicious food-Texas brisket plate, poutine, and mac and cheese, excellent and friendly service by our waiter for big group including three children. Very helpful with menu. Thank you for our American kids first taste of poutine! Such a great restaurant and dining experience for our Ottawa trip!

Loved the food but when I arrived, I realized it was a bit pricier than I initially expected. $$$ Because of that, we decided to split one meal between three people. I’ll be adding the receipt in the photos so you can see the breakdown. Overall, it came to about $34 per person, which included a third of the wings, the mac and cheese, and a full pitcher of sangria rosé, which was really good as well. The wings were a bit different than what you’re usually used to they come in their actual bird-wing form, which was unique and well done. The mac and cheese 🧀 was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I understand the higher price point, the food quality was excellent, and we were all full and satisfied by the end of the meal.
