Took forever to bring the food, probably 45 mins to an hour. They were apologetic and brought each of us a little doughnut which was nice. I asked them to pack my food and they took my plate and never brought it back. I left 15% tip which i guess for North American standards is not good after a mediocre service at best. She expected more i guess and didn’t even say thanks and showed attitude as if she is not happy with the tip amount.

Nice indian-fusion restaurant. Good vibes in the restaurant, nice space with seating, not too crowded. Food was quite good, and priced well. Spent ~$35 each with appetizers as well.
"Don't forget to tip next time" <- from takeout. Just raise the price?
I dont understand how this place doesn't have 5 stars. The best in Montreal. I've had Indian food in many countries and this was right up there with the best. Waitstaff were attentive and it's a classy atmosphere--not too high-brow, though. Reasonable and good portions. My husband and I had drinks, appetizers, and w entrees and it was still just under $200. And this is downtown! I'm always excited to go back.
One of my all time favourite indian restaurants! The food is authentic, great quality and so delicious.
Great cocktails good food
Went to 409 last week. Order the samosas and Butter Chicken they are amazing! Found the lamb korma average (needs to be spicier). But all portion sizes were good and the food was inexpensive for a restaurant in downtown Montreal. Will definitely return.
It is an average Indian-fusion restaurant. The food is a bit bland and a bit too sugary but I guess that is very common in this country. Not authentic. But that is not a bad thing necessarily. If you give specific instructons then that will be respected. The service was good and friendly. And the atmosphere in the restaurant was chill and elegant. I have experienced dine-in as well as home delivery.
Wanted to love the place given the other reviews I’ve read but the food was mediocre. The chicken tikka masala did not have the traditional chicken tikka and the sauce was quite bland- very tomato soup-y. The naan was decent but not like authentic naan, quite bready. We had grilled vegetables and paneer for starters…there were around 2-3 pieces of paneer with a whole load of inedible carrots (extremely tough), but the grilled bell peppers and mushrooms were ok. I’d look for another spot if you want authentic Indian food but the atmosphere were nice enough to enjoy with friends/family.
Great food great ambience
Loved the lamb Roganjosh
Really high, gourmet, best Indian food I have ever had - and yes I've been to London. Very inexpensive for Old Port area - at first I thought the menu prices for some kind of "tapas" or other gouging tricks, but then I realized no, that's for a main, and a truly filling one as well! Really nice, pro service who seemed to know just when to interrupt and when to leave you alone. A beautiful space too! Our new favorite spot in the Old Port!
