The best brisket I’ve ever had! The meat is so incredibly tender it just melts in your mouth. It’s honestly hard to put into words how good it is! In Brazil, we don’t really have a tradition of eating brisket, so every time I come to Montreal, I make a point of stopping by Lattuca Barbecue. It’s an absolute must for me! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is outstanding, and John, the owner and chef, is such a genuinely friendly guy who’s always great to chat with. Everything about this place is amazing. If I could give it 10 stars, I absolutely would!

What a treat! Ribs, brisket and pork ribs - all delicious!!! I love the fact the waitress explains what is available and no menus. That is pretty cool. Also love the paper towels instead of napkins. John the owner is a very special guy - finds time to talk to everyone. This is the place to go for bbq. Will be back! Not only is she beautiful but Jade was also an outstanding server

Great spot if you're looking for authentic Southern-style barbecue. The beef ribs were probably some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is fantastic, relaxed, unpretentious, and feels like you just stepped into a barbecue joint in Austin, Texas. Even the rolled-up paper towels on the tables were a nice touch and added to the authenticity. Owner and staff were super friendly too. Highly recommended!

We were a group of 6. The food was excellent. We have really enjoyed the ribs ( to die for :) and beef brisket. Definitely we will be back.

This is a hidden gem of a bbq spot. Absolutely amazing. The owner John knows his bbq. Everything we had was delicious. Jade provided us with excellent service and all the staff was very friendly. The pulled pork and beef rib was a personal favorite and being from San Diego,CA I know good food. Would recommend this restaurant’s as a must have for anyone in the area, local or visiting.

Not really seeing why there's so much hype around this spot after having tried their shared platter. Ambiance is lackluster, food is not amazing, service is just OK, not good value...wouldn't recommend sadly. The decision to not have a menu is also a little confusing.

The owner is fantastic and really makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Jade took great care of us and was incredibly friendly and kind. If you want to enjoy great food, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended!

So Disappointed. Went here as a birthday treat. Sadly didn't get to eat. Went at 6.00pm on a Saturday, when they opened. Two waitresses inside. Chef / owner wasn't at the restaurant yet. Won't be long. Ordered drinks and they were delivered. Twenty minutes later, chef has arrived, what would you like to order. Went for a sharing platter. Choices of 3 from 5 available meats plus three sides (slaw, beans and mac'n'cheese). No fries on the menu. Chose brisket, beef rib (plus 8 per person) and pulled pork. 10 mins later our food arrives. Meat looks good ( but I don't think the single beef rib is worth an extra 16). Have a fork of the three meats, all taste good. Slaw ok. Beans cold. Mac'n'cheese cold. Ask waitress to heat the sides up. Was gone over ten minutes, serving other diners. During this time another couple left without eating (don't know why, perhaps they didn't fancy bbq meats). By now our meats were cold also. I eventually went to the bar and asked how much do I owe and was told by the chef "Nothing". Sadly we left, hungry and disappointed. Now, I know nothing about owning / running a restaurant but I would have thought that the top guy would be behind his cooking appliances an hour before opening time especially for low and slow bbq. Finally, the restaurant has a website but doesn't have a menu posted. I think with no menu available on-line there are probably many potential customers wondering what's available, does this food suit the rest of my group, etc. They then have to make a decision possibly going somewhere that does post their menu / specials / combi deals, etc.

was very excited to come here on our first night visiting montreal. made a reservation for 7:30 and we didn’t get our food until 8:45. when we were first sat the hostess brought us to a table right next to the bathroom stall door due to “needing to set up for a large reso”. although there were still 2-3 tables after the reso was sat. also received no menu so when we ordered we had no time to think about what to get while waiting for so long. pulled pork was questionable but the brisket and sides were very delicious. would have had a much better experience if the service was a little better.

This was the best food experience l've had in my visit to Montréal. The place is spacious and full of wooden tables. Brown paper towels at each table reminiscent of a BBO joint in Texas. It doesn't sound like much, but the fact they had high chairs for my son was a great touch. Jade was our server, She was very attentive and polite. This has been the total opposite of what we've received since being here. The food was sensational. Each tray comes with 3 sides. Mac, cole slaw, and baked beans. All 3 sides were delicious, and I hate coleslaw. The meat..The meat was fantastic. We paid the additional charges for a 4th meat, and we're very pleased with our decision. Pulled Pork, Brisket, Beef Rib. and smoked chicken were our choices. The salt and pepper base shined in everv bite. The meats themselves didn't need sauces, but their mild and spicy barbecue sauces elevated them through the roof. The pull pork +spicy BBQ Sauce + Mac bite was elite. On top of all this, the proprietor, |ohn, was delightful and shared a short story about his BBO background as well as a shot of Canadian whisky. This is a must go for future visits to Montréal

6:30pm reservation. server didn't come to table for a while. she seemed flustered. no menu, no prices. finally offered a drink. had to get up and ask for food. told 30 min. only three other tables. turning away customers. locked door. whats going on? food comes. brisket, while flavorful, was cold. ribs (2) taste nice, but also cold. chicken? one piece of bone in thigh (very small) also cold, beans too sweet and cold, mac dried and cold. Strange experience. something must have happened to the ovens, but for 45$, i thought the portions were too small. nice try, won't be back.

Extremely disappointing experience! We waited almost an hour (mind you the restaurant was empty) just to be served what was supposed to be a mixed meat platter with chicken, ribs, and brisket. Instead, what arrived at the table was mostly a handful of tiny, shredded/shard-like pieces of meat (apparantly was brisket) that looked like the leftovers from the bottom of the barrel. There was one small piece of chicken (about half a thigh), and the single piece of rib was incredibly dry. The brisket was basically just scraps. For $66, the portion and quality were honestly outrageous. The service was just as disappointing. Nobody seemed to care that we had been waiting or that we were even there. Obviously it was not intentional just no experience. We eventually had to go to the counter ourselves to pay because no one came to check on us. We even had to go to the register to refill our water cup. Nearly an hour of waiting for poor-quality food, minimal portions, and virtually no service. $66 for this experience is completely unacceptable. Would not recommend even if you want to throw your money away for a burned food!

Incredible experience at Lattuca tonight. Food was decadent. Meat was tender and juicy and the sides were the perfect complement. We sat at the bar and chatted with John the owner and award-winning Pitmaster. His stories and love for BBQ made the evening a 10 out of 10. Jade and Angelina's energy and smiles were the cherry on top. Highly recommend a visit to try one of their platters. The beef rib add on is a must. Make sure to reserve.

All the meat options that I’ve tried were always tasty & flavorful, very tender as well. Nice little spot, never too crowded. Although, the service the last time I went did take very long unfortunately.

I always make a point of eating at Lattuca when I come to Montreal - some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. Most notably the beef ribs which are excellent. Relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a nice night on the patio. Highly recommend!!! Chris from Toronto

To each their own but it wasn’t for me. Definetly not the best ribs in town imo. I don’t understand all these positive reviews but hey, there’s no accounting for taste.
