I recently visited Lampfall Restaurant at 6851 Avenue Victoria in Montréal to try something new, as their menu features West African dishes. I originally wanted the lamb with rice, but it wasn’t available, so I ordered the beef with brown rice instead—what I believe they call thiep viande. I didn’t expect the dish to come with such a large portion of rice, so I ended up ordering an extra side of brown rice unnecessarily. The seasoning was fine and the food was okay overall, but there wasn’t anything particularly unique about the flavor. For the price, it felt a bit expensive considering the dish was mostly rice with only a modest amount of beef. That said, with the rising cost of ingredients these days, it’s understandable. If you ask whether I’d try it again, probably not. On the positive side, there is public street parking nearby, which is convenient. Though, I suggest that you can try their other menu.
