Tourist restaurant with a beautiful view and a location appreciated by many customers. I'll Be Short. I usually talk a lot. Food ? Great ! Tender and Tasty, all parts of it. Service ? Longer wait to get seated, but not because there weren't tables ready, just oddly slow to get to it on their side. And too LOOOOONG While for waiter to come and acknowledge/take our order. Table Service ? nice staff/people, but didn't bring water, glasses and left empty for long while. We asked if they have bread and butter, as we're hungry and be nice to get started with that.. (oddly, no appetizer options on the menu, just main course options). The bread arrived after the LOOOONG wait for the the food, and arrived just after (almost same time deal) our main courses. So bread w/dinner is fine but we wanted it before !! Waiter puts Veal steak in from of me and leaves.. I have to let it start to cool while I chase them to come back for fresh ground pepper. He didn't ask if I wanted any when he served it !! I don't believe they ever came back and asked/offered us more water ! Again, Food was tasty and Highly Recommend !! Service, not so much !!
Putting this place in context, a restaurant at a tourist trap, your expectations are low. It's not supposed to be eating at a fancy white table cloth restaurant. It is a convenient option at the top of the cable car landing spot overlooking the water below. The beef cheek and smash burger were very flavorful. Service was attentive and water was ice cold! Pricing was reasonable.
Great view to eat. However, the service was incredibly slow and lacking. The lemonade is advertised as homemade, but tasted exactly like premade concentrate. Food was okay. I would recommend eating elsewhere before or after visiting the Chutes Montmorency.
First things first. Service and atmosphere was good, enjoyed the sunshine and weather, and no complaints about our server. Food-wise, however, leaves much to be desired. What was served to me under the name of “fish and chips” was nothing short of a disgrace. The fish portion was shockingly small — a pitiful sliver that looked nothing like the generous, golden fillet shown in the photos. To make matters worse, it was cooked into oblivion: dry, rubbery, and utterly devoid of flavor. Instead of the crisp, flaky comfort food one expects, I was handed a sad, overcooked scrap that felt like chewing cardboard. The advertised images promised a hearty, satisfying dish, but what arrived was a bait-and-switch — a hollow imitation that left me feeling cheated. When you order fish and chips, you expect a proper portion, a balance of texture, and at least a hint of care in preparation. This was none of those things. For a dish that should be simple, reliable, and comforting, this was a complete failure. It wasn’t just disappointing — it was misleading, poorly executed, and frankly unacceptable. If this is the standard being served, then the establishment has no business showcasing glossy photos that bear no resemblance to reality.
Order Confit Poultry & my husband ordered Fish & Chips. Both were highly disappointing. My "confit poultry" was dry and honestly, are you sure this was confit-ed? Fish & Chips tasted decent. Fries were good, fish was slightly overdone but it was VERY SMALL. I didn't take a picture but don't be deceived by the other photos on Google. Draft Beer was ok, kinda nice.
The location and views are beautiful, but the food was disappointing. The portions were very small for the price, and the overall food quality was average, or even slightly below average. Unfortunately, the service was also quite poor and slow, which matched what many other reviewers have mentioned.
Great service and food! Get a spot with a good view. I enjoyed the latte (hot, of course) and chicken confit!
Bad experience, waited in line for 30min to get a table just for the host to tell us they were closed when our turn came. To make things worse she came up to the line of people waiting multiple times before that and could have told us sooner. Additionally the people seated were complaining that they were waiting a long time just to get water and to order. Expected more for such a popular place.
