We had the most amazing meal and experience at La Spada yesterday! The service (shoutout to Chloé and Lio) was 5 stars and the food was divine. Great atmosphere, easily in my top 3 restaurants in Montreal!

It was my first time trying this restaurant after hearing so much hype, and overall I really enjoyed the food. The only downside for me was that the pappardelle with duck ragu was a bit saltier than I would’ve liked, but everything else I tried was delicious.

From start to finish my experience for the first time at La Spada was top tier. The ambiance was exactly what you want in a restaurant. It was trendy, high energy, welcoming, buzzing but not uncomfortably loud. Great location with valet parking on a corner. The service was impeccable Highly knowledgeable wait staff. Friendly, attractive, smiling, and full of recommendations on what to drink and eat. Now the food… AMAZING!!! I started with the Caesar, which if you judge a restaurant based on this salad like me, then you’d heavily approve Then the carbonara which was delicious, creamy and rich in all the right ways And shared a delicious med rare lobsters that was truly Devine! Will I come back? I want to live in the janitors closet and do the dishes everyday for free meals! 🤣 Definitely one of my favourite Italian restaurants 🙌🏼👌🏼🙏🏼🫶🏼❤️

Tonight's meal at La Spada was a 100/10 experience! We attended the Snowdon Deli x La Spada collab dinner, and weren't disappointed. Between the delicious food, the delectable pickle martini, the perfect wine pairings, the beautiful decor, the kind staff (thanks for not judging us for accidentally breaking a glass!), and the impeccable service, I know we'll be back again soon 🤤

I have been eating here for quite a while, since the opening and haven’t been disappointed. Love the fact that everything can be shared family style. Free pouring of wine at the table, cold refreshing cocktails. The owner Scott pops into tables to see how everyone is doing. The music isn’t too loud and the servers are smiling. Love starting off with some house made bread, moving to a Caesar salad, and then a couple of mains. I’ve done the specials before and they are indeed special. Hot and full of flavour. Love the valet parking on the weekend. Thanks for bringing some life and love to Notre Dame! Always love going back.

The good: the focaccia and rigatoni alla vodka were very good. They also have a coat check, and the atmosphere was inviting. The bad: it took close to 10 minutes for my friend’s main dish to come out. We had to send 3 reminders to staff about the missing food before somebody went to the kitchen to check. As a result, our dishes were no longer hot. A complimentary dessert to share would have been lovely and eased our disappointment, but instead we got a half-hearted apology.

The atmosphere is approachable but high end without the ridiculous prices. Our server Lucia and bartender Chanelle made our night, they even introduced us to the owner, Scott. The food was amazing, and the service matched it.

I had an amazing experience here a few months ago and so came back. We had pasta last time - this time we had the pollo parmigiana and the lamb. This was an error, as they were really disappointing - quite bland, and expensive. I’d probably come again, but only for the pasta. The worst bit is having to stand in the middle of the (small) restaurant waiting for your coats… it’s awkward as you feel you’re on top of people eating.

Food was yum, although charging 4$ for a small dish of oil and vinegar is criminal. Service was kind if not a little slow. Interior is very nicely designed, coat check which I love. Would go again and try different things.

Man, I’ve been looking forward to finally checking out La Spada for a year now. I don’t get out to eat nearly as often as I’d like these days, so when we walked in, it hit different right away. Coatcheck, tablecloths, proper dim lighting that actually feels cozy instead of stuffy, attentive service without being over-the-top—hospitality done right. The decor’s fun and playful in this relaxed, homey way that’s elegant but totally unpretentious. And the playlist? Classic hits with a modern spin—think Boney M flowing into funky “Stayin’ Alive” covers. It kept the vibe light and enjoyable the whole night. We started with the green salad, and honestly, it blew me away. So light and fluffy, way beyond what I expected from a simple salad. They really nailed it. Then the fritto misto—crispy as hell from the first bite to the last, perfectly seasoned. No weak links there. The homemade charcuterie and focaccia was an absolute highlight for me: the cotechino sausage and coppa (two ways) were spot-on, rich and flavorful without being heavy. We also got the side of mushrooms in garlic cream sauce, which was killer—super creamy and garlicky. Only thing I wished for was some extra focaccia or bread to mop up every last drop of that sauce. Next time, I’m definitely asking. For mains, it’s all about that comforting Italian soul: we went with the braised duck ragù over pappardelle and the pork shoulder with polenta and gremolata. Knowing all the pastas are made in-house just makes it better. The flavors were so balanced—everything married perfectly, no dish felt one-note. Portions are seriously generous too, which makes sharing easy and fun. Desserts sealed the deal. They’ve got a pastry chef on site (which is rarer than it should be), and nothing fell short. The tiramisu was huge and classic, there was this playful take on Ferrero Rocher that was indulgent and playful in the best way, and then the cherry mascarpone cake—man, that one was my personal favorite. It left such a good, memorable finish to the whole evening. The experience was genuinely wonderful from start to finish. A huge thank you to Scott for creating such a special spot, to the chef and the pastry team for the incredible food, and to the entire service staff for making the night feel so welcoming and effortless. If you’re in Montréal and craving real, thoughtful Italian without the pretension, La Spada delivers. We left happy, full, and already talking about when we’re going back. Highly recommend.

Splendid experience as usual, super attentive servers and outstanding pasta and drinks. We were disappointed that the exquisite squash ravioli was no longer on the winter menu but the vodka rosé rigatoni made up for it. The dessert of the moment was also incredible; like a soft shell chewy pistachio volcano with a cake-stuffed meringue centre. We will be back very soon xo

Beautiful restaurant with attentive service. The food is delicious, from flavorful pastas to perfectly cooked chicken Parmesan. The Brussels sprouts are a must-try and the cocktails, especially the margaritas, are excellent. A wonderful spot for a fun and memorable night out.
