Bartender Chanelle made the night. Her service, her knowledge, her kindness was beyond exceptional. Food is excellent and overall we loved the place and will 100% be going back. But seriously… ask for Chanelle if/when you go. You’ll have the BEST experience.
Reviews / Ratings for La Spada
Excellent service from start to finish. We were genuinely taken care of the whole time by our waiter but also by the sommelière. The food was really good, and the overall Italian vibe of the restaurant felt like something out a movie. Perfect spot for birthday dinners, dates, or just a casual night out with friends. Would definitely go back!
My husband and I went to La Spada a couple of years ago when it first opened and liked it a lot, but hadnt been back since until this past weekend. It was such a great experience to revisit the restaurant- their food is even better than I remembered. We especially liked the pannacotta with olive oil and honeycomb (sooo good - sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy) and the octopus salad with potatoes (warm, a little smoky, octopus was perfectly cooked!). Their foccacia is also delicious and spongy. We thought that the crudo was a bit underseasoned, and personally I found the pasta to be a bit too fishy. But overall the food was great. The drinks were also really good: we ordered two spritzes at the start of the meal (I had the Spada spritz and my husband had the more herbaceous one) and we ended the dinner with two amaros, selected by the bartender, which we both enjoyed.
No misses but some food reigned supreme. The meatballs and zitti alla fungi were killer. Great vibe and decor. Service was attentive and restrained.
La Spada is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without feeling overdone. The food was excellent across the board. The carpaccio was beautifully prepared, the Caesar salad was one of the better ones I’ve had in Montreal, and every pasta dish at the table was outstanding. The wine list is also very well curated. Definitely a restaurant I’ll be returning to.
Wonderful evening spent at La Spada, servers were attentive and owner kind and generous. The food was delicious, from the soft focaccia to the fresh pasta. Our highlight was definitely the panacotta, which was out of this world 🤍
The espresso martinis and tiramisu were the only outstanding bites/sips of the night unfortunately… The restaurant is beautiful and they have a nice selection of wine but we were quite underwhelmed by the plates even though they came with a beautiful presentation. Nothing really stood out and for the price… we’ve had a lot better. We had to send back the pasta as the dish itself was hot and the pasta very cold, hard and not saucy. The service was very slow and sometimes a little rude.
The place is very nice and was recommended to me by a friend. I tried their duck pasta, and it was incredibly tasty🤤 The only small concern was the service -maybe because it was a busy Saturday night, there was a confusion with our orders. I’d probably recommend taking a little more time with each guest and their order to avoid this kind of confusion. But overall, the place is great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere and interior design are really nice!
Food was delicious. Service was fantastic and the ambience was so much fun. Great all around.

If you're in Montreal at any point, don't even THINK of missing a dinner at La Spada. One of the best spots I've visited for dinner and cocktails. The food is impeccable, the cocktails are insanely good, the vibes are perfect, and the dessert....order the Panna cotta — best dessert I've ever had!
What a vibe! Just left La Spada and had to share. The place was full, great music, buzzing atmosphere. The service was super professional yet unassuming. And the food…. Wow! Pictures don’t do it justice. The pasta is absolute perfection, excellent variety of sides, and the branzino was impeccable. Not to mention - they make an incredible tiramisu in house. Bravo!
Okay. Now you know how you go to a place and you decide to write a review because you, you know, you had a good time and it might be a nice thing to do… this is not that. This is a NECESSITY. This is a memento to the spiritual experience I just had while I ate their panna cotta. This is not an exaggeration. I genuinely was brought to tears and have been crying with laughter because of it. To put the experience into words: it’s what my dreams taste like. It was like coming home at the end of a long day and being held by a warm embrace and being told you are loved, like truly loved. I thought maybe it was a fluke bite maybe some strange miracle in the first taste but the next one was the same… and the next. This will go down in history for myself for the time I cried tears of joy from eating food. If that’s not something worth coming for then the atmosphere alone is your excuse. Your welcome.
Sadly didn’t live up to the hype. Could barely hear anything in the restaurant and the waitress was unable to project her voice. Our entire table had an issue hearing anything she said all night. He aperol spritz was completely flat - like it was just tap water and aperol… They ran out of pork chops after we ordered it and then decided to tell us this as the rest of the table was receiving their mains, thus causing two people to get their meals after the rest of the table so it all that has been served just got cold… the eggplant dish was tiny and was basically unseasoned, had to ask for salt to make it decent to eat. Asked for camomile tea and they kept bringing fruit tea. We flagged down three different people to ask for the right tea and they kept bringing fruit tea - all to learn at the end finally that they ran out of camomile tea and didn’t ever bother to tell us this, so we had to go through this hoopla wondering why everyone just kept bringing a tea we didn’t want. They offered us a free dessert to say sorry for the pork chop issue but we don’t eat dessert. So what’s the point. It was so strange and for their prices and the high expectations set, it did not meet the bar. Too bad as I wanted to love it
I love it!! I just had an amazing experience at La Spada, really good vibes & the drinks & food are delicious
One of those rare times when you wouldn’t change a thing. Maybe just the tiramisu. The staff were exceptionally polished and attentive, often anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. Service felt smooth and effortless throughout the evening. The dry-aged steak is absolutely perfect. The pappardelle with duck ragù is better than you could even imagine. The tiramisu was a tad dry, but it didn’t spoil the evening. Overall, a great experience
The best branzino I’ve ever had in my life. Tuna crudo was also excellent. Kale cesar salad was surprisingly 10/10. Trust me and get the fried artichokes. Service impeccable ! My new favourite spot
Warm, vibrant, and effortlessly elegant. The food feels honest and full of life, every dish balanced and memorable. Service is attentive without ever interrupting the moment. The kind of place where time slows down and you actually enjoy the evening.
This spot serves authentic Italian vibes from the food to the ambiance. Everything we had was excellent but the duck ragu pasta was the highlight. The Cacio e Pepe brussels sprouts were also a hit!
Had an amazing birthday dinner with great service from our waiter Frank. The food was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised by how lively this restaurant was!
Great Experience!
I had such a great experience at La Spada. The food was honestly amazing, everything we tried was super flavorful and really well done. The portions were also decent, enough to leave you satisfied without feeling over the top. What really made the night stand out though was the service. Our server, Frank, was incredible. He was funny, kind, and really knowledgeable about the menu. He made great recommendations and just had a super easygoing, relatable vibe that made the whole experience even better. Overall, amazing food and even better service. I’d definitely go back.
Louanna was an exceptional server and made the entire experience memorable. She was attentive without being overbearing, consistently checking in at the right moments and making sure everything was perfect. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her recommendations were spot on. What really stood out was her positive attitude she handled everything smoothly, even when it got busy, and always kept a smile on her face. It’s clear she genuinely cares about providing great service. I would absolutely come back again and hope to be served by Louanna. She truly elevated the whole dining experience.
