We chose this restuarant based on a friend's recommendation. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service friendly and atmosphere was nice. We were visitors from California and staying in the old section but we just hopped on the bus (great system) and walked to the restaurant. We'd definitely would eat there again if we came back to Quebec.

We’ve been eating at Quebec’s finest all week. This was the best. The food was wonderful. We shared an exquisite escargot dish and we both had the salmon. Best I think I’ve ever had. Service was spot on and pleasant. Get out of the old city and try this one. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is amazing! The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. We tried the date and foie gras appetizer, truly a little bite of heaven! The salmon with curry sauce, deviled eggs, and carrot cake were all outstanding. The service was even more impressive. Our server was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. She took the time to walk us through the menu. She even graciously humored our attempts at speaking French. The combo of her genuinely friendly service and the exceptional quality of the cuisine made for a truly great experience.

Every time we go we are always so amazed at this restaurant. The food, the service, the decor, everything is absolute perfection. Perfect date night spot or to go outlet with friends: Highly recommand! The 3 layer carrot cake was a little taste of heaven.

Our experience at La Planque was a treat from beginning to end. Spectacular food, excellent Vesper martini, great selection of wines and fabulous staff among whom Édouard was standout!!

La Planque was an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The quality of the food was exceptional — thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish felt elevated without being pretentious. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the evening. They were also completely fluent in English, which made the experience seamless and comfortable. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance — upscale yet relaxed, lively but not overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can truly enjoy a great meal and conversation. Highly recommend if you’re in Quebec City — we’ll absolutely be back.

This is Quebec City’s finest restaurant. We’ve tried all the others. Not only is it better than those places you just checked out, it’s probably cheaper. It’s in an unassuming neighborhood, walking distance from nowhere, but the food is amazing. After my first bite of duck leg, I exclaimed, “this is what I always hoped duck could be!”

La Planque, what can I say? You absolutely blew me away on my last night in Quebec City. I sat at the bar and the bartender was outstanding, thoughtfully walking me through the menu and offering spot on suggestions for both food and wine pairings. Every single dish was thoughtful, distinctive, and genuinely delicious. Each stood confidently on its own while still feeling cohesive as a meal. The service was excellent with clear care and attention to detail throughout, and the atmosphere was lively and buzzing without feeling chaotic. Truly exceptional food and service from start to finish. You will be my very first stop the next time I am in Quebec City. All the best to your team.
