By far, the best restaurant in Tremblant! The ambiance is great and the service was spot on. The filet mignon was quite tender and succulent and the ribs had an amazing flavour, and the tuna tartare was outstanding. Highly recommended!!

During our dinner, our server and other staff repeatedly interrupted us, creating a stressful and poorly coordinated service. When we paid, the server closely watched the tipping screen and questioned why we selected a 10% tip. Tipping is not mandatory, and no customer should ever be pressured or interrogated about it. The situation became unacceptable when she said to us:“Is that how you do it in your country?” This was a xenophobic and discriminatory remark that made us feel disrespected and singled out based on perceived origin. We live in Toronto and should never have been spoken to this way. When we raised this with the manager, instead of properly addressing the discrimination, we were told that 15% is “the minimum” in Québec, which is incorrect and dismissive of what had just happened.

Thank you for taking the time to write and for sharing how you perceived your experience. As said during our email exchange where you requested a refund that I was not able to accomodate, I take all complaints seriously, particularly when they involve how a guest felt during their visit. That said, I must be very clear on a few important points. Regarding the number of table visits, I understand how this could have felt excessive or disruptive. During busy services, especially in tourism-heavy periods, multiple team members may check in with the intention of being attentive — but I acknowledge that attentiveness can cross into feeling intrusive, and this feedback has also been taken seriously. La Petite Cachée is a small, independent restaurant that lives off tourism and welcomes guests from all over Québec, Ontario, Canada, and abroad every single day. Our team is culturally diverse, multilingual, and deeply inclusive. Xenophobia or discrimination of any kind is fundamentally opposed to our values, our lived reality, and the way we operate. Any suggestion that a comment was made based on perceived origin is taken seriously—but it does not reflect who we are. What you interpreted as xenophobia was, based on my review of the situation, an attempt to understand a tipping choice that was below the local standard. While tipping is not legally mandatory, it is the primary way servers are paid in Québec, as it is in Ontario. A 15% tip is widely recognized and well known as the standard in both provinces. The word used was “standard,” not “minimum,” and it was never intended as judgment, pressure, or commentary on where you are from. Nor did she asked "is this how you do it in your country" - she asked where you were from out of genuine curiosity. That said, I agree that tipping should never become confrontational, and I regret if the interaction made you uncomfortable. This has been addressed internally to ensure clearer, calmer communication going forward. I hope this response clarifies our position and reassures you that respect, diversity, and professionalism are core to our restaurant. Communication is how we move forward. I wish you a safe return to Toronto and all the best.

We made a reservation two months in advance for a Friday night to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The place still has that cool, chalet-style vibe and the service was genuinely great. The wine list is impressive, especially the local selections. Unfortunately, the food fell short this time. The risotto was mushy, the tomahawk was undercooked twice—even after clearly requesting medium both times—and the sauce was missing. The scallops were elastic and lacked flavor. On the positive side, the corn and onion soup were outstanding. Our server was incredibly kind and took the tomahawk off the bill, which we appreciated. This was our second visit, and compared to last year, the quality has dropped significantly. We were so satisfied before, so I might give them another chance next year, but I’d likely explore other options first.

Excellent restaurant, very good food, clean, log building look, with a nice wood smell inside, plank flooring (no carpeting). Highly recommended.
