A lovely shop right at YUL but that's the only positive aspect of this experience. Tried to purchase 2 dozen bagels on a Saturday morning. The server proceeded to mix fresh bagels from the oven with what looked like day old bagels from a bag taken from behind the counter. The employee asked me to wait at the cash as he was packing the bagels which I did but as I was waiting I noticed he was taking day old bagels and mixing them with fresh bagels. I confronted him to ask why he was mixing bagels from the oven and from a bag and he suddenly couldn't speak English or French. I walked away. This is such a poor reflection of Montreal that should be addressed especially when the airport bagels are 50% more expensive than those at shops in the city.
Reviews / Ratings for La Fabrique de Bagel de Montréal (YUL)
Montreal is renowned for its traditional hand-rolled bagels, which are characteristically thinner, slightly sweeter, and chewier than their New York–style counterparts. Within the city, the long-standing preference often centers around two iconic establishments: St-Viateur and Fairmount, both widely regarded as benchmarks of Montreal’s bagel culture.
Best bagel I’ve had in my life. I had to go back and tell them. Super kind experience too with Ismail and the guys.
The food was great! I got the steak seasoned bagel with jalapeño cream cheese and my boyfriend got one of their smoked meat sandwiches. Their chocolate croissant is also very good. Very delicious, wish we had this in Toronto. Very overpriced though. $40+ for 2 bagels and 2 iced lattes is insane. But I guess that’s just what it is at the airport. The staff need some training on mannerisms. There were 3 of them and one of them smiled, very poor customer service skills. The guy was very polite but the girls, not so much.
Disappointing experience. Our salmon and avocado bagels were dry, cold (even though we ordered them heated), and thinly filled. Given the price and the fact that they specialize in bagels, I expected higher quality. The chai latte also tasted like watered-down milk. On the plus side, the service was nice.
I had the prosciutto, Brie, and pear bagel and it was the bomb. It was very filling and was a great start to my day! Amazing quality, clean, and very nice customer service. I am satisfied, would come back and tell friends especially family.
Girl working (didn’t catch her name) definitely didn’t want to be there or serve us. Barely any bagels available for purchase. Bagels weren’t labelled and the worker couldn’t enunciate properly so we were left guessing what the options were. This place seems to have a trend of negative reviews lately. Owner might want to start investigating why and maybe provide staff a refresher on decent customer service standards. No smiles. No politeness. Won’t be back.
2 bagel sandwiches and 1 coffee for $44... ouch !
Sad, cold, awful and super expensive bagel
Had a baguel late at night, it looked good but the bread of the baguel was a bit rough, not stale but kinda. I had expectations of either a toasted bread or softer bread at that price point. I'd argue there's not enough content for the 15$ minimum price point.
Perhaps it’s usually more fresh but today morning 6am bagel and fruits tasted quite old. Coffee was good
