The food is good but the price point is insane, especially their wine list. Service was poor, not at par with the food quality or the standard they pretend to offer, and we waited 45 minutes for the second dish! We ended spending almost 200CAD per person for their special reduced MTL à table menu and 2 glasses of wine per person. There are many other more interesting places in Montreal for this price. After the restaurant owner reply, I downgraded the review: this is a stupid and unprofessional reply that provides personal details and should not be authorised by Google. I thought it was mostly bad service and maybe a bad night, now I see it’s a major mismanagement situation.

Thank you for acknowledging the quality of our food. However, our MTLàTABLE menu is $90 per person. Wine, taxes and gratuities are additional. You also chose the optional cheese supplement at $18, which contributed to your final bill. The total you mention should therefore not be confused with the price of the menu itself. Your reservation was at 8:00 p.m., your order was placed at 8:11 p.m., and your bill was presented at 10:06 p.m. We consider this a very reasonable overall duration for a four-course dinner. While this does not dismiss your concern about the interval between courses, it provides important context about the pace of your evening. Our extensive wine list includes over 800 selections, including grands crus, some of which represent a substantial expense. For MTLàTABLE, however, we offered wines by the glass priced between $14 and $24. You selected the most expensive options from that range, which also contributed to your total. All prices were clearly indicated. We stand behind the quality of our cuisine and our pricing. We take service feedback seriously, but we firmly disagree with the suggestion that the standards we work to uphold are merely a pretence. As you point out, Montréal offers many other restaurants, and you will certainly have plenty of options for your next evening out that may better suit your expectations. Took my golden retriever there on a whim a couple weeks back and was pleasantly surprised they let us sit on the terrace with her without any fuss. The staff brought her a water bowl before we'd even ordered, which honestly won me over immediately. Had the duck confit and it was rich and perfectly done, easily one of the better meals I've had in the city lately. Great spot if you're strolling the neighborhood with a dog and want something more upscale than the usual patio pub food.

The service was extremely slow. We ordered the signature course, but we had to wait about 30 minutes between each dish. We arrived at 6:00 PM and didn't leave until 9:30 PM. While the food was amazing, the slow pace really ruined our overall experience tonight. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which I had mentioned when making the reservation. However, they did nothing for his birthday until the course was over. It was only after I brought it up again that they finally brought out a small dessert.

An excellent restaurant for those who enjoy the slow paced dinner of a good French restaurant offering very well thought out courses. Our food was excellent, although I thought the beef could be more tender. Their wine list is very deep and I hope that they will drop the page with the American wines. It is very nice to have such a gourmet restaurant right in Mile End. We have so much great food here, and an excellent French restaurant is an exceptional anchor. Bon appétit!

Stopped in on a Sunday morning with my camera bag after shooting some street photography in the Plateau, and La Chronique ended up being the perfect spot to wind down. The light coming through the windows was gorgeous and soft, which honestly made me wish I had kept my camera out. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict and it was absolutely worth every bite, really carefully put together. The staff were warm and unhurried, which you rarely find at brunch spots that are that good.

We had a perfect birthday dinner experience. Every dish was unique, with a wonderful balance of flavors and ingredients. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, and the wine pairings were excellent—they elevated every dish to another level. The service was attentive, warm, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the evening. A special mention for how well they accommodated our dietary needs. Two people in our group were gluten-free, and although we had already mentioned it when making the reservation, the staff were fully prepared and attentive from the moment we arrived. We truly appreciated the care and attention to detail.

Don't mind the negative reviews, they are the exception and you can expect they are related to the reviewers bad temper or entitlement level. Now to talk about the restaurant, the service was way up there, super friendly and accommodating. The food was also way up there, with a 6 course menu that defends itself very well against other well known names. The in-house sommelier was on his game and served us excellent wines with each of our plates. It will cost you a pretty penny to experience the multiple course menu with the wine pairing, but it will fall into the experience category, not the simple meal category. If you're willing to dish out several hundreds on an experience, it's worth your time.
