I ate the birria beef tacos and really enjoyed them. The tres leches cake was light and delicious! Sonia and the staff were super friendly and accommodating!

Bad experience- no guac or fish so limited options , poor service and bad attitude
food was good, vibe was good, bartender in the purple shirt was very good
This is a pleasant quick restaurant for amazing tacos. On suggestion I had the rum, lime and Mexican cola (made with sugar cane) and for my meal the Shrimp Tacos. Three tacos were more than enough for me. The shrimps were huge and one shrimp filled the taco. Cabbage, chipotle mayo and guacamole. Truly enjoyed them. Prices were reasonable.
This place is very busy and usually has a wait so prepare yourself. I was lucky enought that the wait was only a couple minutes. They do their best to seat people and gives bills to those who have been there a while. Drinks are great and a wild selections and tacos were also delicious.
Incredible food. I'm going back tomorrow to try the rest of their menu. See you
Overpriced and service is not good . Go to la toxica , more authentic and better quality & price
Wow! We came in for dinner, a little early around 5:30. A few seating options were available so we chose the centre table. The space quickly filled up with a line out the door, yet service was quick and kind. The jackfruit tacos were simple but delicious. All the options seem great so it was hard to pick. The medium chips and guac was a LOT of guac with a few chips so we saved some for the tacos. You can’t match the food and atmosphere at home, and definitely need to try La Capital.
Had a nice dinner here last weekend. The vibe of the place is really nice and the food was good. The conchinita pibil was REALLY SALTY - and we are salty food lovers. But I would say that we preferred the Birria. Otherwise they were pretty decent and prices were fair. Would go back here if I was in the neighbourhood and looking for a taco!
We came in expecting great tacos, but honestly, the highlight of our visit ended up being the service. Our waitress Sonia with an I ... was one of those rare people who makes you feel instantly welcome, genuine, attentive, and effortlessly kind. She didn’t just take our order; she elevated the whole experience with her energy, her compliments, and the way she connected with us. It felt personal, not routine, and that’s something you don’t come across every day. Great food brings people in, but service like hers is what makes you want to come back. Capital Tacos is lucky to have her—we definitely were.
Like what?!?!?!? Best food, best service, prices amazing and SONIA!!! SONIAAAA!!! She totally made our experience the happiest. Like love at first sight!!! Girl Crush ACTIVATED!!
All meat tacos were super dry except for the birrias bc you dunk it in a sauce. Had to ask for water and napkins 4 times. My high expectations were crushed
Bland and dry food. Expensive for the quality of the food, not worth it. Drinks are nice and service was good though.
Friday April 10 8:20 pm, we’re waiting in line to get in. The host comes in saying it’s 15-30min. There’s a couple behind us and one of them is a famous quebecois singer who’s also waiting to get in. As we get out they ask us how long we tell them what the host says. Immediately she asks if the bar is okay to them completely skipping us. When we complained she lies straight to our faces telling us they had a reservation when it’s clear they didn’t. Will never try again why give money to a place where they disrespect customers.
We were sat before three other tables. All those tables recieved water and menus and we didnt. We asked for menus and they said no problem and they still didnt bring them after five minutes but started taking orders of the other tables who sat after us. We ended up leaving after 15 minutes without even a menu.
Excellent taco restaurant with a local vibe. The taco interpretation is mix, but it works, even for someone from the southwest and very familiar with Mexican cuisine. They even have a full bar, the location is cool too. Great vibe, great food, seems like a local favorite, well worth the stop and would visit again
food was so good and the waitress was amazing. down side: if you’re really hungry you’ll probably have to take 2 plates ( portions are really small) so it does end up being a little expensive. drink was amazong
the BEST tacos in Montreal.
Amazing quality! handmade tortillas, authentic meals and specially imported items - plus best staff you could ask for 💃🏻
5s across the board! Wonderful buzz about the place; quick, efficient, friendly service. And my first Jarritos! Highly recommend for a fun bite out in Montreal.
Food was good, also good service, just a bit noisy (music, voices) but i ordered carnitas taco amd flavor was good, portion too for light supper
La Capital Tacos is a great spot if you’re craving authentic Mexican flavors. The tacos were absolutely delicious — super flavorful, well seasoned, and served on fresh tortillas with simple, quality toppings. The consommé on the side was a nice touch and added even more depth to the meal. We also tried a few sides and everything was on point, especially the balance of flavors and freshness. The place itself has a really nice vibe — clean, modern, and cozy without trying too hard. Service was friendly and efficient, and everything came out quickly. Overall, a solid spot that delivers on both quality and experience. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into tacos.
I went for the third time last night and the tacos are amazing every time! My favourite ones are the birria tacos :) My friend and I shared a Quesadilla too, it was delicious! Not only was the food great, but our waitress Sonia was really funny and a great vibe to end the day with! Thank you Sonia!! <3
Love coming here, delicious food.
Returned after 5+ years and was disappointed. The food quality seems to have gone downhill, and my friends all agreed. The birria tacos came without cheese, and the medium guacamole portion was small with no option for a large. Drinks were good, but with so many great Mexican spots in Montreal, this one didn’t stand out. Hopefully it was just an off night.
