Booked a table here with my daughter and family who live locally. While the interior is welcoming with a large TV screen, the restaurant itself had food all over the carpet on the upper level that had not been picked up by staff and our seats (not the table) were dirty. The initial server was pleasant and helpful but the later server disappeared for long periods and returned late with our requests. Just one example: we asked for ketchup for the fries & She brought them - no joke - when we asked for our bill and the fries had been eaten. My biggest complaint though - by far - is the pricing and serving sizes. In my own example, I ordered the fish and chips. Instead of the fries, I asked for a garden salad, which consisted of nothing but lettuce without any kind of tomatoes or onions or anything else. I will say my fish tasted decent, but it was only one piece. That would be acceptable if the price was around $13 maybe $14, which it is at other establishments. But here it was $25! I felt absolutely taken. And in all our cases our table left feeling hungry. So in the end, although we had planned on staying all night, we opted to pay our bill ( which approached $200 without any desserts and only three drinks purchased) We left for the Boston Pizza across the way to finish watching our sporting event and had a far better experience & we finally got a plate of fair priced apps to fill our tummies. So unless you’re looking for absolute ambience, I highly recommend you take a pass on this restaurant until they lower their prices and perhaps provide some more training to their staff.
I used to go there every day 2 years ago ...then they got the worst employee in the world and I stopped going. Went back after 2 years and its now as amazing as it was 2 years ago. They have the best bartender in Quebec, Jade, and the food is amazing. My kids talked me into going back and I will certainly be back. Amazing food and service! 10 out 10 if 10 was possible
Shout out to our amazing server Jeremie! What a nice young man he is! Very attentive to our needs and show genuine interest in how we were and noticing my grandson was with me, said hi to him as well! He is perfectly fluent in both English and French. The food was so good I had the hamburger and fries did my mom and my grandson had chicken fingers and fries. It’s a little pricier to eat here however the food and the ambiance felt like it was worth the few dollars more.
Food is always so good! Awesome for an outing with friends!
Unfortunately I keep forgetting to not eat here. From the no more menus, to the arrogant servers, to the bone dry chicken breast they use for everything and the almost raw kids burgers they argue aren't raw..... There's almost no positives to the experience at all. Truly wish we had more choices on Plateau.
This is an update of a review I posted 5 years ago. That was made during the pandemic, a period of difficulty for everyone. At the time given the challenges, the service was exceptional. Today the situation is very different. The last two times we have ordered takeout have been extremely disappointing. The last time things were miss and during heavy snow, I had to return to pick up what was missing. This time we ordered a meal kit to make salmon tartar. Usually every is contained in individual boxes or paper bags. This time everything was just pitched in the bottom of the bag, the salmon which is meant to kept cold among hot food. On top of that the sauce that was meant to be mixed the salmon was missing along other sauces that had been ordered. Very disappointing.
I ordered takeout from them. I got burgers — the burgers were actually pretty good, but the fries were absolute trash. They stunk up the entire apartment, and you could tell they were a bit burnt and that the oil hadn’t been changed in ages. I ended up just tossing them — photo attached. And honestly, for 60 bucks for two burgers, you’d expect it to be done properly. Overall, the food is kind of hit or miss.
Stopped in for an impromptu early dinner with the kids — one of those “why not?” family moments — and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. I usually swing by this location later in the day for a drink when I’m working in the area, not so much for full meals, but I’ve always known they serve solid food. This visit confirmed it. The food is good, not gourmet, but definitely satisfying. The kids were all over their chicken strips — zero complaints, which says everything. I had the ribs, my wife went with the wings, and we all walked out full and happy. It’s not the best pub food we’ve ever had, but it’s dependable, well-portioned, and hits the spot. Service really stood out. Our waiter was fast, attentive, and great with the kids. He knew off-menu kid options, kept the popcorn bowl constantly topped up (parent win), and checked in just enough without hovering. The vibe was relaxed. No live game on at the time, so we caught reruns on the screens, and the background music was decent — easy atmosphere, no chaos, which is perfect with kids in tow. Unexpected highlight: the sangria. Genuinely excellent. I would’ve gone for a second pitcher if it wasn’t a Sunday night and I had to drive the crew home. Overall: reliable, family-friendly sports bar energy with good service and a few pleasant surprises. We’ll definitely keep it in the rotation when we’re in the area.
Beware, two of us fell ill after eating there this week. I'm only giving two stars because our server was so very wonderful and attentive. The food was terrible. I had room temperature mayo with my burnt fries which I think made me sick. My partner had cold steak with cold sauce and dry fries. It looked like the plates had been sitting out for hours before being served to us. The kitchen staff needs to be trained better on food handling safety and meal preparation as well as time management. If this was my business, I would just change my kitchen staff.
I was disappointed in my experience there. Got a spicy mango Marg... It was basically mango juice with jalapeno peppers in it. Very thick.. and then the waitress totally brought me the wrong order. So not great.
Another visit, 03/01/2026 Had a delicious pizza, PIDZZ SALAMINO CALABRESE, great combination of flavors and the crust was crispy, soft and chewy all at the same time, busy spot but service is always great. Crispy fish tacos at $5 each, not bad, not a lot of fish but very crispy! Service was great as usual and patio is always a good time.
