great atmosphere to watch a game or have a meal and a drink...servers are friendly but not too attentive
What guests say about La Cage - Brasserie sportive
La Cage - sports brasserie in Montreal seems to be especially appreciated for its game-day atmosphere, its screens, and its convenience before a show or a game. Several reviews highlight excellent and attentive service from certain staff members, along with food considered good to very good. However, other customers report long waits, inconsistent service, and organizational issues on very busy evenings.

Heidie was the absolute best server ever !! She was super sweet and attentive. We were a big group on a night where there was a Habs game and even when the resto was super busy she made sure we had everything we needed.
I had Heidi as my server and she was the best!!! Great experience with her!
HEIDI IS THE BEST WAITRESS EVER!!!! WHAT A GIRL…. LOVE HER.
Great place, time limit on how long you can stay on game nights. Food is good worth the stop! #gohabsgo
Last night, I had a very disappointing dining experience at La Cage during game night. I fully understand that the restaurant was extremely busy and that the staff were under a lot of pressure. When we ordered our second round of food, the server assigned to our table did not bring us utensils right away. Considering how busy the restaurant was, we remained patient and understanding about the situation. However, what was completely unacceptable was the attitude and response from another server. We noticed that one server appeared significantly less busy than the rest of the staff and kept walking back and forth near our table. We politely asked him if he could simply bring us two sets of utensils. Instead of helping us, he coldly told us to “go ask your own server.” The reason it was difficult for us to communicate with the server assigned to our table was because his work section was clearly arranged very poorly. He was responsible for the entire bar area, including another section located approximately 10 meters away from us. He was constantly running around and visibly overwhelmed throughout the entire night. Meanwhile, the server who refused to help us was only responsible for the few nearby tables around us — excluding our table — and appeared much less busy. Honestly, this response was shocking and unacceptable. We were not asking for anything unreasonable, special treatment, or free items. We were simply asking for basic utensils so we could eat the food we had already ordered and paid for. Refusing such a simple request, while showing such a cold and dismissive attitude toward customers, is extremely unprofessional and reflects very poorly on your service standards. I would genuinely like to know if this is really the type of customer service La Cage considers acceptable. Are servers trained to refuse even the most basic customer assistance simply because a table is not assigned to them? If so, that is deeply concerning. Being busy is understandable. Poor organization on a game night may also happen. But showing a bad attitude and refusing a basic customer request is absolutely not acceptable. This interaction seriously damaged our dining experience and left us with a very negative impression of your restaurant.
We Had A server named Vicki, unreal at her job and made our night, great food and better service, we will be back as Vicki was exceptional
I had a bad experience there, my friends and I wanted to eat and stay to watch the habs game, it’s the habs who wouldn’t do the same and so, we went there and we clearly asked if we were able to stay for the game, they said yes. So we ordered our food however as soon as we were done eating our RUDE waitress told us we had to leave even after we told HER and the other people working there that we were going to stay to watch the game. This was a bad experience we had to watch the game in the freezing cold because of them and I can assure that I WILL NOT be eating there ever again.
We came early on purpose to get a spot for the habs game, we made sure to ask the hostess if we can stay to watch the game and she said yes. We got served by an arrogant waitress that seemed sincerely uninterested in her job. After we finished eating, she pressured us to leave since “we weren’t consuming anymore.” Even tho when we came in and once we were seated we were asked if we were gonna stay to watch the game. We said yes and they said all was good, but clearly this waitress had other plans. Im just sincerely disappointed in this service and I really do hope it improves. I would have no problem if they had told us that we couldn’t stay since the start but I just find it EXTREMELY unprofessional that they contradicted themselves.
Fantastic is what I can say about this place From the service, very friendly, the atmosphere very positive and the food, superb. Highly recommend to any one in the area
Very poor service extremely slow took more then 30min just to get a burger ridiculous
Very nice experience, I would definitely visit again! Dined here twice in two days :) poke and burgers are lit 🔥
I had the burger with Caesar salad. It was good. Nothing spectacular about the food, but the service was good. Nice place to get together with friends before going to a show (Florence + The Machine).
Jordan is a great host, really friendly and caring. Even though there was a fight that broke out between security and a client but they handled the situation very well and professionally.
La Cage Always delivered for wings and bar food, nice seasonal warm salad.
Not a place you go for great food but a great atmosphere to watch a game and have drinks.
Went before the Habs/Leafs game. Place was bumping. Awesome atmosphere. Food was incredible. Would recommend making a reservation on game day though.
Had a great time ! Food was fabulous, service was Excellent , special shout out to the hostess Charlotte . So professionnal and polite she made our experience even better . Thank you all .
I came in with money to spend and the first thing I was told was have table until seven. Next was put at a table attached to the bus station where every time they brought plates back, there was crashing and bumping. The food was blah, soulless and bland. Uninteresting and expensive, I mean crazy expensive for what it is.
Had a great time! The hostess Charlotte was especially helpful and kind! She got us a table right away on a super busy day!!
Food was okay as well as the service. My bill came to $60 and I only had a meal and a couple drinks. I don’t think it was worth the money. Cool atmosphere though with TVs everywhere and it being in the Bell Centre.
