I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. We found hair and plastic in our food, which is already unacceptable at any restaurant, let alone a breakfast place. When we pointed out the plastic, our server argued with us, insisting it was “a piece of egg” — despite the fact that it was clearly plastic and was inside the waffle. Being gaslit over something so obvious was frustrating and unprofessional. One of our dishes was a breakfast poutine that was completely drowned in sauce — not “generous,” but an ungodly amount, to the point where it was basically soup and inedible. To make matters worse, the price of maple syrup on the bill did not match the price listed on the menu. When questioned, there was no proper explanation or accountability. After our server came back for the second time to tell us that his manager could not come speak to us, he also told us that his shift was finished and he left without helping us any further, but he did offer us more potatoes as compensation (when most of us did not eat the potatoes because they were undercooked). We asked to speak to the manager, but our server told us he was “too busy managing things.” This was hard to believe considering the restaurant was empty, and we could clearly see him on his phone the entire time. When we spoke to another employee, we were told that the manager could only deal with “accidents,” which makes no sense given the situation. Between the food safety issues, incorrect pricing, dismissive staff, and lack of management accountability, this was one of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve had. I will not be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before eating here. My bill was 30$ for 2 eggs and half a waffle.
