Food was yummy. Went on a Saturday Morning around 9 and did not have to wait to sit. Chai latte tasted like plain milk though.
Reviews / Ratings for L'Avenue Notre Dame
I’ve been going to L’Avenue for over 15 years—first at the Mont-Royal location and later at the Notre-Dame one. Over all these years, the food has always been excellent: consistently well prepared, generous plates, and usually very friendly staff. It’s one of the reasons my family and I have kept coming back regularly since the Notre-Dame location opened. However, I’ve had a disappointing experience with the same server two or three times now at the Notre-Dame location. For lack of a better way to describe it, she seems to saunter from table to table, rarely smiles, and does not come across as particularly friendly. During our last visit, she was actually rude to me. I always order a single pancake with strawberries and chocolate for our 6-year-old. This time, she brought the full version (three or four pancakes). When she came back to the table later, I mentioned that we had meant to order the one-pancake version. Her response was: “Ben il fallait me le dire,” which is not the level of customer service I’ve come to expect from your restaurant. It’s unfortunate, because we’ve been loyal customers for many years and genuinely enjoy the food and atmosphere. But experiences like this do make me think twice about returning. I would be happy to discuss this further with management if that would be helpful.
Very good experience, I had a friend reunion brunch, and it was the perfect place for that. Their got sauce is pretty good and matches super well with the egg and the hollandaise sauce. The matcha soy latte was good has well, I willl definitely go back!
Thought it was going to be better with all the rave reviews. Not sure why this place is so popular. The pancakes taste gummy. The potatoes taste like they were overcooked in the microwave. My dish was served cold.
Incredible brunch spot! Great food, service, and atmosphere. Large portions as well!
We had a late breakfast around 10:00/10:30 so no wait. I ordered the “Bob goes to Istanbul”, hubby got “Bob goes to Japan”; both were amazing. Great food, great service! If I lived anywhere near there I would be there quite often😆
Visited for a long weekend and the best food we had in Montreal was the breakfast here. We wish we would have visited the first day and kept going back. Skip the bagels, come here and you won’t regret it.
Long waiting with no reservation possibility, very small place to wait inside, prices are ok, food quality good, very cold inside and noisy, waitress not very professional
The food is not good, chicken was unseasoned, the omelettes were bland
Great breakfast place. Food delicious and good portion. Service always nice.
2026: the steak avocado toast was great. The side potatoes were alright, the sweet mayo was inedible though. Enjoyed my nocciata coffee. Staff was friendly and efficient. 2019: Overall a great breakfast place, but the lineups can be ridiculous. Pleasant service. Very cool washrooms. Millionaire bacon was alright but overrated. The carrot cake pancakes were great except for the cream cheese glazing which was subpar. Sausage was good.
Great service and I ordered the steak, that is a lot of food! And it was juicy and good quality meat!
