Absolutely terrible experience: so many hidden fees and the service was extremely slow. They falsely advertised the amount of food in each dish on the screen which showed 3 big pieces of beef however I got 4 slivers of beef thin as paper. The “Chinese” buffet was a joke. Everything was extremely greasy to the Pad THAI(which is Thai not Chinese) to the soggy sausages that looked like fingers. Total was 110 dollars with tip included that’s they add automatically for 2 people(teens I might add). Food was mediocre at best and we had so much leftover food that they just threw out because they charge an outrageous price of 1:50 per sushi to take home. Never coming back here again.

Hello, We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience, a few points that you make raise some concern for us so please help us understand. As you are aware, we are an all you can eat, and we have no issues with the amount that you order. In no way do we advertise ourselves as a strictly Chinese buffet. Our menu even states that we are an Asian buffet and thus we include food from different Asian countries. Our policy, as with many other restaurants is an automatic service charge of 15% if you are a group of 6 or over. I’d like to know if there are any other hidden fees that were included as you mentioned there were many. In regards to the extra charge per piece of sushi, we indicate on a disclaimer that extra food will be charged In Order to minimize waste before you begin. The only way for you to proceed to order is if you accept. If you have any more concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are still a young restaurant and consider any feedback to be constructive and part of the learning process. Regards, Management

Our visit to Koyo turned out very dissapointing! Overpriced for the quality of food we received.. 100$ for two people was not worth it at all. The sushi was not the greatest, especially the dragon eye maki which is fried was cold! The pad thai tasted more like ginger than anything else and the chow mein noodles were very salty! As for dumplings, they had one choice and that was the peanut butter dumplings.. Service was ok, waiters were friendly! Atmosphere was ok as well but it was cold in there, i had to keep my jacket on! Unfortunately, left dissapointed and will not be returning! Best of luck!

Koyo Sushi was fantastic. The sushi was super fresh, beautifully prepared, and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. Every dish tasted like it was made with real care. Shoutout to our server Dre, who made the whole experience even better. Great recommendations, super friendly, and somehow always showed up right when we needed something — almost like sushi-serving magic. Amazing food, great service, and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Thanks Dre!

Deeply disappointing. Would not recommend. This was hands down one of the worst sushi experiences I’ve had. The food was unbelievably bland — no balance, no seasoning, no depth of flavor. Everything tasted flat and lifeless, like it was assembled with zero care or understanding of sushi. The fish was especially bad. It did not taste fresh at all, and the texture was off, which completely killed any chance of enjoying the meal. Sushi lives and dies by freshness, and this missed the mark entirely. For the price they charge, this place is honestly insulting. I kept waiting for something to redeem the experience, but every bite just made me regret ordering more. If you’re craving sushi, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Never coming back

Koyo has done more than just changing its name. Food is fresh and tasty, variety ir great and everyone is nice. I am big portion person so I don't think there's a place a prefer to eat sushi. But even if you're not someone that eats a lot I would give it try bringing friends or family.

I’m filing a formal complaint... against my own lack of self-control. I honestly came here just for a quick bite on Décarie, but Koyo Sushi clearly had other plans for me. I am currently writing this while suffering from a severe food coma, and I have zero regrets. Let’s talk about the Sashimi (see my photos if you don’t believe me). Usually, when you order salmon at mid-range spots, you get these sad, paper-thin slices that look like they’ve been on a diet. But here? Look at that orange color. That is high-definition fish. The slices were so thick they should honestly charge rent. The fat marbling was perfect—it literally just dissolved on my tongue. I almost ordered a second round, but I needed to save room for the rolls, which was a dangerous decision. The Rolls: I don’t know what kind of engineering degree the chef has, but the structural integrity of these rolls is impressive considering how much topping they piled on. The Spicy Crab & Tobiko one: It’s a mountain of crab meat. A literal mountain. The popping texture of the fish eggs mixed with the creamy crab? Unfairly good. The Crispy Onion one: This was the MVP. The crunch from the onions vs. the soft rice and spicy mayo... it’s a texture bomb. It’s messy, it’s saucy, and it’s exactly what sushi should be. None of that dry, boring stuff. The Vibe & Service: The place was buzzing, which is usually a good sign (never trust an empty sushi restaurant, right?). The staff were running around like ninjas making sure everyone got fed. They didn't hover over me, which I appreciate because I prefer to inhale my food in peace. Verdict: If you are on a diet, do not come here. You will fail. If you like eating generous portions of fresh fish until you can’t walk straight, this is your spot. I’m definitely coming back, but I might need to wear stretchier pants next time. 10/10 would recommend.

Dissapointed!! Not worth to spend your time and money! sometimes outright terrible food. We paid $100 for two people on a Sunday evening, which was completely unjustified. The buffet was extremely disappointing: French fries, rice, soups, noodles (absolutely awful and possibly spoiled), plus some vegetables and fruit. Nothing special, nothing worth the price. The place was dirty, and the atmosphere felt cheap and unpleasant. Some sushi and sashimi were so cold that my sensitive teeth were in shock - I ended up suffering from tooth pain for the rest of the evening after this visit. Do not waste your time or money here. Montreal has plenty of much better places at the same price point.

Too much variation and food choices and none were perfectly made, have all kind of Chinese food and dim sum... But none of quality The only good dish we really like are the beef skewers... A bit disappointed for the price. Exceptional service but below average food The sushi fish are kind fresh but tasteless

It was my first time, the restaurant was clean, the service was great, the food was fresh and really good, they have a nice variety 5⭐️ well deserved. The only thing is you most probably will have to wait for a parking space.

January 2026: Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice self-serve buffet, and hot food on the tablet was mostly good, but the sushi was all tasteless mush. The rolls with crab, shrimp, salmon, tuna all tasted the same. The Thai roll was the worst as it only tastes like syrup. 20 minute wait didn't really help either. Wish we could make reservations, especially since there is a time limit. August 2025: the sushi was good at this point, not sure what happened.
