Amazing food, try the goat/lamb.
Khyber Pass Restaurant is a cozy and authentic Afghan eatery in Montreal’s Plateau‑Mont‑Royal, known for its rich, flavorful dishes and warm atmosphere. The menu highlights aromatic classics like tender lamb kebabs, Kabuli Palaw, and hearty soups all served in generous portions that are perfect for sharing.
i visited this restaurant with my wife Saturday night without reservation no wait time i was seated in a cozy corner i travel alot all my life Australia America Canada i have tried all kinds of restaurant and food ..but Khyber pass Teka kabab was so tender full of flavor juicy and tender best kabab i have ever tried with fresh yummy salad and amazing 3 types of basmati rice . don't forget to try the Lentil soup . our waiter Mobin suggested lamb plate for my wife but i told him i don't like lamb then he recommended beef kebab ( Teka) highly recommended
Finally gave this restaurant a try! I’ve had homemade Afghan food before, but I don’t know the cuisine extensively. We tried the table d’hôte 1, which gives a very generous meal for 48. The lentil soup was so good, the filet mignon kebab incredibly tender and perfectly cooked, and the dessert (rose water pudding) was light and delicious. I took the Ashak as an entrée, but it tasted like overcooked ravioli lost in sauce with no punch. The food was good, but it could have been more flavourful! The service was peculiar. Our waiter was attentive and became better as the night progressed. He changed our table because the window had a cold draft. The host, however, had an apathetic face all night. He served us our desserts rudely, like tossing a dog bowl at us - not sure why. The ambiance was rustic, and I enjoyed that, but the place needs a little love. The tables are small and uncomfortable, with large plates overbearing them; the decor looked dusty, and the tables could use a small candle or something to make up for the spotlights on the ceiling. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to try Afghan food, but I’d be aware of the things mentioned above.
The food is good And the ambience is okay , ,restaurant is quite busy and don’t forget to book reservations We have ordered chicken kabab and khorma chalaw Chicken kabab is good and khorma chalaw is bit tangy and more tomato flavour but it was ok with rice Final verdict - you can try The one who is serving is always staring at us and they are very hurry in bringing bill While eating they are removing the plates that’s the only minus Apart from that everything is good
A very good place with absolutely delicious food. We have visited Khyber Pass several times already, and every single time everything was excellent — great taste, good quality, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended! 👍
