I have been to this restaurant several times before and after the change of the owner. The dishes I have ordered had always been hot and tasty. Restaurant itself is welcoming and has lot of place to seat. Whenever I go there, the tables are almost empty. Prices are reasonable and affordable. Kids are welcomed since they have few high chairs. I also ordered there twice for few big dishes for partys and all my guests liked their taste. Service is quick and chatting with the owner for my big orders are quick and easy. Since there is no many asian restaurant in Laval, Khmer Express is a convenient restaurant to go either to dine in, take out or order for partys. Only advice I would recommend to that place is to put some ambiance music to make it less calm, but overall, I would recommend that restaurant for people who wants to try asian dishes.

This place used to be in my opinion a 4.5 star restaurant Overall and a 5 star in service . The welcome was warm it felt like home . Food also warm and delicious. Since they've changed the owners it's really not the same . The new owners are not even from Cambodia. They added the word "Halal" to their menu feels more commercial. the feeling of a family owned business has completely dissapeared. Food is still flavorfull not as what it used to be. But one thing they should absolutely fix is the service. I came in to eat and the lady in the front was speaking in arabic on her phone while being on full blast speaker phone. She served me while doing so as well. Didn't bother putting her phone away. I really felt like a transaction not a client.

Hi Honest Reviews Canada, thanks for bringing this to the attention. Rest assured, Im Cambodian and my parents are both Cambodian. We hire and give works to anybody who wants to work even if they are not Cambodian. The cooks are cambodian too. Come on Sunday, you'll meet our Cambodian cashier. Sorry that the service given was not as good as your expectation. We have taken note and let the lady knows. This is not related to any race or ethnicity. We are not racists at all. Talked to the restaurant, probably the owner, by accident. It seems like a nice place to try out next time travelling to Laval. God blesses this place.

Awesome little place. I love their beef soup and their spring rolls. I went there a bit before closing time yet the owner was very accommodating to me and my son. You could tell she cares about her business and her customers.

Excellent and quick service! The cashier was very polite, took the time to explain every dish, made recommendations and was very patient. Place is clean, food is delicious and the portions are very generous.

I lived 4 months in Siem Reap and regularly ordered Lok Lak, that was my favourite meal. I have decided to try it out here. Funny enough but I find it unauthentic in a good way - beef here is better that I had in Cambodia ( don’t know if it is a way of cooking or simply because quality of beef is superior in Canada ). However what I liked more in Cambodia - they were very generous with Kampot’s pepper! Here I feel like lack of pepper. Overall liked the dish here, not the same I used to have in different places in Siem Reap, but still good enough.

Thanks a lot Bohdan ! My father Loc Lac recipe is a bit different also. It depends on the family heritage. Our beef is AAA quality and we buy it once or twice a week. We do not use kampot pepper but it is something we'll look into.
