The best Korean-style Japanese tonkatsu restaurant!
Reviews / Ratings for Katsuya Montréal
The staff were friendly and the food was tasty The miso soup is refillable and honestly it was really flavourful I’ve been here 3 times already and I’ll definitely be coming back again Just a heads up: some of the katsu portions are big enough for two people and are perfect for sharing
Their fried chicken cutlets are all about thin skin, without that heavy, floury texture, making them incredibly refreshing. The chicken thigh skin is fried until it's paper-thin and crispy, and when you tear it open, the inside is bursting with juicy goodness. Paired with a touch of wasabi, it's simply divine! The fried pork cutlet is their signature dish. It's ridiculously thick. The breading is incredibly crispy, while the meat inside is as tender and juicy as melting snow. Every bite is a satisfying crunch, and the cheese filling inside is so stretchy and delicious—a must-order!
Freshly made katsu, perfectly crispy, great portions, what’s not to love. Had to rose katsu the sauce was rich and spicy really enjoyed it!
Amazing customer service, amazing food, and it came super quick, recommend it for anytime and anyone
The atmosphere was really nice. Since it was my first visit, I was a bit confused but the staff were friendly and explained everything well, which I really appreciated. The curry katsu and the japanese katsu were both crispy and delicious and they pair perfectly with the house lemonade. If you’re looking for a Japanese style katsu restaurant, I think this place would be my number one. It also seems like the only truly authentic Japanese katsu spot in Montreal.
The food was superb, and the location is very accessible—near Guy–Concordia Metro. We will definitely go back again. 😊
poor customer service especially that one female worker don’t go here😂
I had a really disappointing experience here. The staff were rude and unprofessional from the start. The girl serving us spoke with an attitude and didn’t even explain the dishes as she handed them out. She was also speaking loudly in a passive aggressive tone the whole time. At the end, the curly hair male staff asked for a tip despite the poor service. When I declined, the male worker said “미친” (which means “crazy” in Korean) right in front of me. That was extremely disrespectful and unacceptable. This was not my first bad experience here, the same staff member has had an attitude on multiple visits. I would not recommend this place if you expect basic courtesy and normal customer service.
