Reviews / Ratings for Katsuya Montréal
Raw pork katsu, portion not very large for the money spent.
i ordered the curry loin kastu for take out and received a tiny cup of curry that was barely filled up halfway and also tasted off:/ very pricey for 2 gulps of curry 🤨
Best katsu in mtl!
Very very good 😊 so tasty 🤌
Katsuya has been on my "Want to go" list for years and on end of February, me and my friends decided to go give it a try it. I really loved their Japanese Katsuya chicken and karaage! Super crunchy and sweet-salty sauce balances the flavours. We ate during lunch period so it was nice and peaceful that we're able to have conversations, and service was quick. Prices is roughly $16-$22 depending on what you get. I recommend coming here with friends or a quick lunch/dinner, as it's fulfilling!
The udon was delicious, however the katsu is quite average. The service was lackluster and slow.
Best katsu I've had in Montreal. Light, tasty, generous portions. 5/5 ⭐ Service was great too. Fast, efficient, and to the point. I appreciate a place that doesn’t make staff do the awkward small talk thing!
My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good katsu and udon place in Montreal ever since we left Korea. We each had their udon katsu combo. The second we tried the udon we had such a wave of nostalgia. The price was reasonable and the food was amazing.
Came here for lunch today, and it was pretty delicious! Great crispy texture and juicy with a nice portion. The girl with glasses gave us also an excellent service! I’ll be coming back for sure!
Amazing food and service. Definitely a must try. I highly recommend the fish katsu!!
Big portions and delicious taste.
Excellent food quality. Honestly, nothing more you can ask for. It’s a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Very satisfied.
The place was good , with pretty flavour sauce . Everything around 20$
Ordered takeout, red carbonara katsu. I didn't expect to receive 2 katsu which is generous. Unfortunetly, they didn't taste like meat, only like oil. The carbonara sauce was pretty tasty and creamy. Not at all spicy if you eat spocy food now and then. The rice came in a small portion, which with the creamy carbonara sauce and the oily katsu made the dish very heavy. There are pickled radish and cabbage salad, which were yummy, to help but it couldn't counterattack the heaviness.
The portions are quite generous.
Was not busy when I was there, but the food was amazing!
Pretty good food and the quantity was great for the price. Only thing is that I ordered a homemade limonade and there was some dark crumbs in it, when i ask to replace it the second one had the same thing.. and the ice cream on the menu is the commercial ice cream like at the hospital, in small prepackaged cups…
100/10 so good. Massive takoyaki (I’m not exaggerating) and large portions for the $ I would definitely come back. Wonderful staff.
The best Korean-style Japanese tonkatsu restaurant!
The staff were friendly and the food was tasty The miso soup is refillable and honestly it was really flavourful I’ve been here 3 times already and I’ll definitely be coming back again Just a heads up: some of the katsu portions are big enough for two people and are perfect for sharing
Their fried chicken cutlets are all about thin skin, without that heavy, floury texture, making them incredibly refreshing. The chicken thigh skin is fried until it's paper-thin and crispy, and when you tear it open, the inside is bursting with juicy goodness. Paired with a touch of wasabi, it's simply divine! The fried pork cutlet is their signature dish. It's ridiculously thick. The breading is incredibly crispy, while the meat inside is as tender and juicy as melting snow. Every bite is a satisfying crunch, and the cheese filling inside is so stretchy and delicious—a must-order!
Freshly made katsu, perfectly crispy, great portions, what’s not to love. Had to rose katsu the sauce was rich and spicy really enjoyed it!
Amazing customer service, amazing food, and it came super quick, recommend it for anytime and anyone
The atmosphere was really nice. Since it was my first visit, I was a bit confused but the staff were friendly and explained everything well, which I really appreciated. The curry katsu and the japanese katsu were both crispy and delicious and they pair perfectly with the house lemonade. If you’re looking for a Japanese style katsu restaurant, I think this place would be my number one. It also seems like the only truly authentic Japanese katsu spot in Montreal.
