Reviews / Ratings for Kalbi BBQ
It was very busy (the room was full) but the food still came in a timely manner so it didn't even felt like it!
Today is Thursday, March 12, 2026, and I came to eat at this restaurant, "Kalbi BBQ," because I was told it was a good place to enjoy the food. Well… everything was fine until it was time to pay, and of course I paid for the food I had; but the waitress was very arrogant when she showed me the final bill because, in addition to that, she insisted I pay the tips. She demanded it with a dismissive tone of voice, and I didn't think it was fair treatment. Today was my first day here, and I had a terrible experience with that woman who claimed to be the manager. She is a woman of Asian descent, with short hair and a thin build. I am extremely upset about the experience I had in front of other diners who also witnessed it. Besides the fact that the prices are high compared to other restaurants in the same area with the same theme or service, they dare to demand a tip as if it were a crime not to pay it voluntarily. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager, but she claimed to be the manager; then I asked to speak to the owner, but she flatly refused. Simply put, TERRIBLE ATTITUDE.
Cool robot servers, but the tables a bit too tight for them to be easy to access the trays. Food is fine for the price, but I wish the LA kalbi (beef short ribs) was seasoned more, as the kalbi sauce is closer to a gojujiang mixed down than a traditional marinade. Either way, it's fine, and is what the locals probably expect from AYCE KBBQ.
We had a great experience at this all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. For about $100 for two adults and one child, the meal felt like very good value considering the variety and quality of food available. We tried several types of sushi, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The BBQ chicken was also a nice surprise—flavorful and a good option if you want something different between sushi dishes. The all-you-can-eat format makes the experience very satisfying because you can try many different items without worrying about ordering just one dish. Overall, it was a fun and filling dining experience in a lively Chinatown location, and it’s a great spot if you want plenty of variety and fresh sushi. 🍣🥢
Good to place to have korean barbecue and its not that expensive. Sea food and sushi are good. I had desert related to Caramel and that was v good❤️
Awesome place for having a Korean BBQ, I loved it.
Tasty ! Delicious ! Staff is awesome and really friendly. We appreciate a lot all the moment we had here thanks to everyone !
Food was good and everything but I didn’t like how they treated us as a large party. We were 9 friends enjoying the food and we had no problem with the mandatory tips and price. We just didn’t want to be rushed. We had booked a reservation but it didn’t indicate about a time limit. As soon as we enter the restaurant, the waiter starts speaking about a time limit and since we didn’t know they would be more lenient. Comes to the almost end of the 2 hour and they start berating us and bothering us about paying the bill early and leaving because there is another reservation.
WE WERE A GROUP OF 7 AND THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADDED A 15% TIP AND 15% TAX TO THE BILL. THAT WOULD BE FINE IF THE SERVICE MATCHED IT — BUT IT ABSOLUTELY DID NOT. THE SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY SLOW. AFTER ORDERING, WE WAITED AROUND 20 MINUTES JUST FOR SOMEONE TO COME BACK TO OUR TABLE. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. WE WERE GIVEN A 2-HOUR LIMIT, WHICH AGAIN WOULD BE UNDERSTANDABLE — BUT WHEN THERE WERE ABOUT 20 MINUTES LEFT, MY FRIEND ORDERED SUSHI AND IT NEVER ARRIVED. NO EXPLANATION. NO APOLOGY. NOTHING. IF YOU’RE GOING TO CHARGE A 30% AUTOMATIC GRATUITY, THE SERVICE SHOULD BE EXCELLENT. THIS WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR GROUP DINNERS.
We went on a Saturday night. It was $44 per adult and $29 per kid. Unfortunately, many items were unavailable or required an extra charge, especially in the dessert section. That said, the food overall was unimpressive for the price. The experience is quite basic, good for those who are new to Korean BBQ and don't know too well. For a similar price, places like Gyubee are way better in terms of quality and variety. Reservation is required if you don't have to wait over an hour. They charge 15% for groups of 5 people and more.
Always fun with friends ! Be prepare to eat alot of good food !
I went during their lunch hours, mostly ordered chicken and beef which were tasty but the beef was extremely thinly sliced but juicy atleast so order alot! They have alot of side dish and sushi options! A cute robot cat comes to give you the stuff you order You are limited to only 2 hours, so make sure you dont go over! Would've given a 5 stars if they haven't intentionally put a tip on my friend's bill. Regardless, the staff were quite nice and explained to us how everything works. During lunch hours on a weekday, it was 31.99$.
It was our first time trying this BBQ place, and my friends and I were really disappointed ☹️. There were six of us, and there was NO service. We arrived at around 4pm, the restaurant was NOT busy at that time. No water was served after we were seated; our friend had to go to the counter to ask for it. The food-delivery machine would stop and drop off food, and we had to carry it, choose our own plates, and put the empty dishes back ourselves. The sauce bottle on our table was also empty. We considered leaving a smaller tip since we didn’t receive any service, but a staff member told us that a 15% tip was mandatory and would automatically be added to the bill because we were a party of six. I mean… okay 🙄. This is the first place I’ve ever been to where you have to pay extra for lettuce at a $40+ Korean BBQ buffet. It makes no sense. Ice cream also costs extra. Unacceptable. I would NEVER step into this place a second time.
