Worst service ever. Got our drinks and our server server came back. Had to ask for the bill at the front of the restaurant. Plenty of other bars to spend your money at.

The poutine was excellent. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating for our group size. Pitchers of Molson were great.

I visited this bar recently and overall the service itself was fine. However, when I paid, the payment machine prompts were in French and I didn’t fully understand them, so I accidentally completed the transaction without leaving a tip. Afterward, the server came back and asked if something was wrong with the service. I said everything was good, but then he asked why I hadn’t left a tip and continued insisting on it, which made the situation very uncomfortable and awkward for me. I eventually gave a tip just to avoid further discomfort. I believe tipping should always be optional and customers should never feel pressured into it.

Meh... typical tourist place, overpriced. Beer was sour and old. Service was average at best. Food was not great. Not to clean or comfortable either. There are so many better places nearby.

When I visit cities and walk around like a tourist, I love stopping into pubs for a beer to sit, reset, and reorient myself. Montréal didn’t really deliver on that—not many pub style places were opened, or everything was closed or hidden behind Québec’s national emblem: the construction cone 😄 So thank god for Pub John Michael’s 🍻 Exactly what I needed. Cold pint, no hassle, and a warm, welcoming vibe right when I needed it most. The Philly cheesesteak was a bit bready, but still delicious, and the fries were crispy and satisfying. Service was friendly and efficient—quick, attentive, and no fuss. Inside has that great pub feel with plenty of seating and TVs, but still relaxed enough to just sit back and recharge. Price-wise, about $58 all-in (Philly, beer, and tip) felt steep—but hey, inflation hits us all these days. Clutch stop when everything else seemed closed. Would absolutely come back.

Leaving this review mostly for the sweet waitress working who accommodated our last-minute table of 9 for a bachelorette party, as well as the rest of the tables in the restaurant. The drinks and food were great, and the playlist was also banging! Great experience overall

John Michael’s Pub was amazing! We’re here on a winter pilgrimage with our youth group and had some free time to grab lunch and explore the area. We stumbled upon this local gem and couldn’t have been happier. Our server, Guillermo (Guillaume in French — forgive me if I misspelled it!), was absolutely wonderful. His service was impeccable—kind, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious 😋 We ordered the fish and chips, a burger, and a chicken sandwich—everything was excellent. I also enjoyed a local IPA, and my husband had an alcohol-free beer. Thank you for such a great experience. We all truly enjoyed it and definitely recommend stopping by! — Iralis ❤️
