Jenni Tea is truly a hidden gem in the Ottawa–Gatineau area! The moment you walk in, you feel how cozy and welcoming the place is. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down, relax, and enjoy a peaceful break. The teas are of very high quality, carefully prepared, and full of authentic flavor. You can really taste the difference in freshness and attention to detail. If you’re a matcha lover, I highly recommend trying the blue matcha it’s a unique and beautiful twist that’s both smooth and refreshing . What really stood out as well is the staff. The employees are incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely care about their customers. They take concerns seriously and make sure everyone feels heard and valued, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful place I would highly recommend in the region for anyone looking for quality tea and a warm atmosphere.

Honestly this place is such a hidden gem in Gatineau Hull, food & drinks are amazing a little bit pricey but worth the price I’ve participated to their Saturday Bento Cake workshop (that is bilingual) with a friend of mine and honestly we’ve had a blast not to mention how nice the staff is & the workshop host was lovely really!!

First off, I want to start by saying that the tea was good and it's such a cute place! My bad experience comes from the fact that I'm severely allergic to pistachios, and I didn't find this spot to be very allergy-friendly. My English-speaking friend booked the tea experience. When we arrived, I informed our waiter that I was allergic to nuts, especially to pistachios. They let us know that we should have told them in advance. I retraced my friend's steps making the reservation online as she had told me there was no spot for indicating dietary restrictions. I was able to find that the tea shop asks to inform them about food allergies 72 hours ahead, but it was "hidden" in their policy, on which we had to click and which was only available in French. It was not mentioned anywhere else, not even on the ticket. Therefore, there is no way my English-speaking friend could have been easily aware of this, but I am still good to accept the blame on that one. The staff was very friendly and still offered to try to accommodate my needs, by bringing me a separate plate and by offering me nut-free options. However, my nut-free options ended up being served on the same plate as the options containing pistachios, right next to them, which was a massive cross-contamination risk in my opinion. Furthermore, when they removed the pistachio macaron from the plate (which even ended up falling on my fork), they did it with the same gloves they used to manipulate the other macarons. There again, I deemed the cross-contamination risks to be too high, and I didn't end up eating anything. Therefore, I would recommend people with severe nut allergies avoid this place. I would also recommend the tea shop makes it easier for people to report allergies or dietary restrictions, as well as aquires knowledge about cross-contamination and improves their practices to deal with allergies to make them safe. I am only flagging this for safety reasons, as I would not like for this place to close down or get in trouble by inadvertently causing someone to have an allergic reaction. I like that there is a good option for tea in Hull, and I'm hoping to feel safe enough to eat there one day.

My wife and I came for high tea and left incredibly disappointed. At $41.60 a ticket we were served lukewarm tea and tuna sandwiches. The deserts were actually inedible with most everything tasting days old, dry and crumbling. My wife actually found a hair in her food. There was no ambiance to speak of and someones alarm kept going off through the speakers. While we didn't complain, the table behind us did and had their concerns dismissed. Also not bilingual for those who don't speak French!

Hello Owen Caza, Several elements mentioned do not reflect what occurred during your visit. Regarding the language, while we are located in Québec and naturally greet our guests in French, Jenni Tea is a fully bilingual establishment. Due to our proximity to Ottawa, a large portion of our clientele is English-speaking. In your case, you indicated that you were comfortable continuing the interaction in French, which is why our team proceeded accordingly. Throughout your visit, a member of our team checked in with you on multiple occasions to ensure everything was to your satisfaction. Each time, you confirmed that everything was fine. At no point were any concerns raised, which would have allowed us to address them immediately. Concerning the allegation of a hair in the food, we take hygiene and food safety extremely seriously. No such issue was brought to our attention during your visit. Situations like this are always handled promptly when reported. As for the food quality, all items served during our afternoon tea are prepared fresh daily. Describing them as “days old” does not reflect our standards or practices Regarding the noise mentioned, the sound you heard was most likely our business phone ringing, as we regularly receive reservation calls during service. We do our best to maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere at all times. We remain committed to providing a high-quality experience and would have appreciated the opportunity to address your concerns during your visit. Jenni Tea Team
