Jatoba is our favorite restaurant in Montreal. The food is impeccable, the service is excellent and the space is beautiful. Every bite is perfection!
Reviews / Ratings for Jatoba
Dining here was ultimately about the food, which was undeniably excellent (The bluefish tuna sushi is out of this world, we had to order it twice). Each dish was refined, well-executed, and arrived promptly, reflecting the level you expect from a high-end establishment. The bill for 2 people, 2 drinks each and a few plates of sushi came up to $380. That said, the overall experience didn’t feel particularly memorable. The service was polite but somewhat average, lacking the attentiveness or warmth that elevates a great meal into something truly special. A small detail that stood out: I ordered a cortado and was served an espresso with milk on the side, which missed the mark for a restaurant of this caliber. Would I return? Yes…maybe—for the food alone. As a person who traveled around the world and ate at quite a few expensive seafood places, including Singapore and Spain, I would rate Jatoba 6.9/10 overall
Amazing food, ambience and vibe. The staff were extremely polite and friendly as well. Highly recommend trying to crispy rice cake sushi! It was out of this world. :)
Not what it used to be
Our favorite place in town. Service is always excellent. Quality of the food is extremely good. Nice décor and total attention to details. I was there to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and a beautiful personal card from chef Olivier was there at my table congratulating us. You cannot find this excellent customer service somewhere else.
Always very perfect!
I got the nigiri sampler, it was absolutely incredible. For how good it was and how much food great prices.
Beautiful venue, quick service during lunch, tasty food, pleasant service
High quality ingredients, good culinary execution, ok service, beautiful location. We had an enjoyable dinner and tried a decent selection of menu items. The personal favorite: the lemongrass and coconut soup; and the gyoza. The service was not flawless, as we had to order our drinks twice, and we were served food but some silverware was missing. Pricewise: it’s on the very high end (overpriced, in my opinion). All in all, I’d come back
Always an amazing experience from start to finish. Phenomenal quality, presentation and service from Marie-Suzanne & Pierre. Will be back!
Great food, service and ambiance. Everything was great - highly recommend
We celebrated my girlfriend’s 40th birthday last night and had an unforgettable supper at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel genuinely welcome, setting a relaxed and celebratory tone for the evening. Our waiter was attentive, courteous, and friendly throughout the meal, always checking in at just the right moments and acknowledging that it was a special occasion for us.What truly elevated the experience was when Chef Olivier personally came to our table to say hello and present a few of the dishes himself. This thoughtful gesture made us feel incredibly honored, and my girlfriend felt extra special, as if the whole team was celebrating with us. The combination of warm hospitality, professional service, and that personal touch from the chef turned a simple night out into a beautiful memory that we will cherish for a long time. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place for anyone looking to celebrate an important milestone or simply enjoy a memorable evening. A heartfelt thank you to Chef Olivier and the entire staff for making this celebration so memorable and for treating us with such care and kindness. Your attention to detail and genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful for the experience you created for us.
Excellent food and service and atmosphere. A bit pricy
Went there to have a celebratory lunch for 10 years as a couple: food was top notch (quantity too!), service was great (advice on the menu + pairing, filling water glasses proactively, ensuring everything was to our taste) + staff was very agreeable (smiling, polite, available but not hovering) Place was quite busy even though we had a reservation at 1pm so I guess it says a lot about Jatoba's reputation but we could have a private conversation (sitting at the bar) and no one hitting elbows with so sitting comfortably Will definitely go again
