I definitely have to come back. I forgot the name of what I ordered but it was pork panné on top of a bowl of rice and curry sauce. Delicious. Initially I went for the salmon bowl but my friend ordered and she loved it too. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Also the miso soup it’s so good.

Small cozy restaurant and is exactly what you expect as it feels like the quality and effort is extended to a small number of customers instead of mass produced. Not sure what the sauce is but it is sizzling and delicious! the appetizer was very fresh and tasty as well

We tried the udon au curry with rose & hire katsu, as well as the rose katsu plate. Both dishes were very good and full of flavour. The service was also excellent—friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Hidden gem in chinatown!!! Amazing service from the waitress, the food portion has me full and the quality was amazing !! Really recommend this place. The water wasn’t really nice but thats just a minute detail, still loved the place and would come back !

Amazind hidden gem in Chinatown. I had the menchi katsu which are breaded pork meatball cutlets and not only do they taste amazing, they're on top of a sauce with crushed avocado and it elevates the whole entrée. My main dish was the rosu and hire katsu curry don and, if it wasn't for how full it made me, I probably would have ordered another one. I'm definitely trying the udon next time I come here. Incredibly tasty food at an actually affordable price? Montreal needs more places like Hoshi.

Good food hidden in Montreal china town. Got the sea food curry lunch meal. Tempura was crispy and really good!! The curry was a bit salty for me

A place worth stopping by. Everything was great, starting from a complimentary cream soup and ending with fantastic katsu plates. Also the service was perfect. Strongly recommend!

A year ago the food was perfect. I had nothing to say and enjoyed their generous portions. I went a week ago and the portions got smaller and the price went up. The taste changed a bit : not as "umami" . Maybe it was a unlucky day . But disappointed enough I dont want to come back .

We don’t come from Montreal so we were looking around for some good places to eat. We had a hard time finding a restaurant to our taste, but we ended up eating at this restaurant. BEST DECISION EVER!! We were welcomed by the kindest waitress, June, and the food was amazing! The music is fun and gives you energy and the whole experience was great. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our experience at Hoshi. The katsu was absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a flavorful and perfectly seasoned sauce. The portions are generous, and everything was beautifully presented. The service was warm, friendly, efficient, and very fast. The restaurant is small and cozy, with a lovely atmosphere, but that’s also part of its charm. A true little gem in Chinatown! ❤️

BYOR bring your own rice. All good except rice quality. Made a suggestion before but even worse this time. I think they should understand what rice quality means to a Japanese restaurant.

Well made, nice quality pork katsu with curry & rice. Service staff were really nice & attentive. They were out of the menu item I wanted, but to be fair I went in a very busy weekend. Interesting spot in Chinatown.

I had a very disappointing experience. I waited a long time for my order, and every time I asked about it, I was told it would be ready in a few minutes, but the wait kept getting longer. The communication and service were frustrating. I hope the restaurant improves its organization and respects customers’ time.
