I've been buying bagels by the dozen for years from this place. I live 2 hours away in Eastern Ontario. The young lad who works there gave me a business card so I can call ahead of time for my orders and I wouldn't have to wait 30 min to get it. First time, I called the young fellow the day before and the next day, they had forgotten my order, so again I had to wait. The second time, I called the day before and when I got there, it wasn't ready and I had to wait again. The third time, a lady took my order the same morning and when I got there it was ready... Amazing. Today, I spoke to the young lad who was very rude in taking the order. Five hours later when I arrived, only half of the order of 6 dozens was ready. They asked me to wait, I refused and took those that were ready and left. Bagels are good, but the father needs to set his son straight because this is a business and you don't treat regular customers that way. Poor disorganized service. I even offered to give them my credit card number in case they didn't trust me, but they refused. Three strikes you're out....

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. First, we’d like to sincerely apologize for what happened with your order today. We genuinely did not anticipate the morning rush, and unfortunately that resulted in only part of your order being ready when you arrived. That was our mistake, and we take full responsibility for it. That said, we also feel it’s important to provide some context. Over the years, we’ve built what we believed was a great relationship with you. The “young lad” you mentioned has always done his best to take care of you—sharing conversations with you every visit, giving you complimentary bagels on many of your orders, and trying to make your trips from Eastern Ontario worthwhile. We know that because we’ve seen it firsthand. There were also several occasions where you arrived significantly earlier than the pickup time you had given us. Despite that, we still did everything we could to have your order ready as quickly as possible. We never viewed that as an issue because we appreciated your business. Regarding this morning’s phone call, you reached us very early. If our employee sounded tired, we sincerely apologize if it came across as rude—that was never the intention. He prides himself on treating customers with respect, and if that’s how the conversation made you feel, he genuinely apologizes. What hurts the most isn’t the criticism—we welcome feedback because it helps us improve. It’s seeing a one-star review after years of what we thought was a positive relationship built on trust and appreciation from both sides. We truly value you as a customer and would much rather have a conversation than end things this way. If you’re willing, please give us a call. We’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly, clear up any misunderstandings, and hopefully earn back your trust.

Cute bagel place in Marché de l'ouest. Their breakfast sandwich is good! I like that you can call in advance to order and pick up. Lacks a little spice, but good overall 🥯

Anytime that we are in Montreal, we pick up a couple of bags of bagels. Well, my wife decided to bring home bagels from here instead of our usual spot (you know the one) and I have to say...these are superior and will be our regular stop. They are a little chewier and a little more depth of flavor. THIS is how I remember bagels from when I was a kid living there.
