I tried the hot dogs and they were actually very good and tasty. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the poutine. I didn’t really like the cheese curds—they were very hard—and the fries were quite mushy. If I come back, I would probably stick to the hot dogs or try some of the other menu items. I was also a bit disappointed with the customer service, as the person taking the order didn’t seem very friendly. Overall, the hot dogs were the highlight of my visit.

Passed by this restaurants several times, but now I finally got the opportunity to stop in and experience their amazing poutine. It was absolutely delicious!
poutine bof kinda cold :( and sauce weird smoked meat on point steamy good poutine
Awesome place! Lovely classic decor and friendly service. Got the poutine with smoked meat and it was delicious!
Overall, their staff is awesome, and the food is always solid. I would say that it’s a local classic for Poutine, it’s a must try if you’re here for the authentic Montreal experience. Most of my experiences have been great, if you’re getting the poutine trust me you only need a small unless you’re trying to feed a family or a small dinosaur. Also, some great Italian and Greek items on the menu..
Great diner.
Coffee was really good, and the Steak sub was delicious!
Very lively place with great authentic food and generous portions. It was quite busy on Saturday afternoon, but we were served very quickly.
The St. Henri burger was delicious! Will definitely have to come back again to try out other items but my friend had some smoked meat and enjoyed it as well.
Truly fantastic old school spot. Perfect. Poutine, pizzaghetti, and coconut pie were all fantastic. Go habs!
I’m a sucker for these old diners. A look at a way of making food that is being erased everywhere. I’m pretty certain some of the cooks have been making the food for decades. And that’s a compliment. Huge portions. True Greek canadiana. Insane gravy. And look at the steak. You can’t get one cooked as well for this price anywhere. $32. Love this spot.
Love the ambience. Think of it as 50s family-style diner. My friends love eating here and it was my first time coming here. Prices are reasonable and portion wise, pretty good. The chop-chop poutine wasn't too salty and the smoked meat was good. Carrot cake isn't too sweet, moist, but for those who are allergic to nuts, beware as they have walnuts! What I ordered was small chop-chop poutine ($12.75 CAD approx) + carrot cake ($6.75 CAD approx) + coke ($3.75 CAD approx). Highly recommend RSVP in advanced if coming in a bigger group, but recommend this place for family-style brunches and diners.
Amazing service and good food, classic Montreal dîner
Came for the poutine. It was good. The cheese really stood out. Ive had better poutines ive had worst. Its right in the middle
This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The best poutine in the city! Lovely atmosphere, affordable, generous hours, and truly the whole menu is wonderful! I also recommend the pizzaghetti!! Love you Greenspot!!!
Had a satisfying experience here from beginning to end. Ordering was easy, the team working there was polite and cheerful, and the food was prepared very well. The atmosphere felt cozy and enjoyable. I’d happily visit again sometime soon.
I have been here many times and always get great service and good food. The atmosphere is the best version of a classic diner. The prices continue to be great value, despite everything. It can’t be easy to maintain such consistency over so many decades and somehow, Greenspot is always a pleasure to visit.
Please bring back toast and peanut butter. it was the only nutritious affordable thing on the menu - Homeless man down the street with no phone
You will never be disappointed when you drop in here for a bite to eat. There's a reason they have been open for so many years and are still always packing people in. Had a lasagne today and it was excellent as usual, it was also huge. Well worth the visit. 😃
My wife and I stopped by on a Monday a few minutes before 11:00 and just missed the breakfast menu that ended at 11:00. Missing the breakfast menu my wife still ordered an Omlete that even from my side of the table looked very underwelming, as she dug in she lost her appetite and only ate less that 1/2 of her omlette simply because it tasted less than ordinary. Her plate came with french fries that were barely warm to the touch. I on the other hand indulged on a 10" steak & smoked meat sub. Unfortunately there was so much oily dressing thats all I tasted, no taste to the steak and absolutely no taste to what little smoked meat was in my sandwich. It was so bad it was necessary to disect my sandwich and remove the top 1/2 of the bread wich was drenched in oil. I also ordered a side of french fries and simular to my wifes fries mine were also just warm to the touch. On a brighter note our waitress was very nice and eagarly topped up our coffee's, her colleque host was also very friendly. Unfortunately I dont know how this establishment has recieved so many positive recommendations, we will not be back! And honestly, the overhaul condition and appearance of this place is old and has charm, however it doesnt mean the restaurant has to appear dirty, take a look at the filth of those old music selectors at each booth. Other than staff, this place needs an overhaul!
Loved the food, loved the service, loved the ambiance.
Greenspot is the purest definition of Casse-Croute. This place has been in existence since 1947 and I don’t see it slowing down one bit. It’s ultimate comfort food and you won’t leave disappointed. Greenspot is a Montreal institution and I hope it’s around for my little guy to enjoy as much as I did.
Food was fantastic and the staff are all Amazing with kids. Highly recommend!
Always enjoy going for a good meal here. A great place if you're hungry and looking for comfort. Everything is always very satisfying! (This time I just got a slice of cake, but I enjoy the savoury food too haha.)
My beautiful cousins took me to taste the foods of Montreal The Gyro was really good best I had in a long time my husband had putain which was good too, parking isn’t that great and the menu is in French, but when in Rome right, had a great time
