I’m a sucker for these old diners. A look at a way of making food that is being erased everywhere. I’m pretty certain some of the cooks have been making the food for decades. And that’s a compliment. Huge portions. True Greek canadiana. Insane gravy. And look at the steak. You can’t get one cooked as well for this price anywhere. $32. Love this spot.

Love the ambience. Think of it as 50s family-style diner. My friends love eating here and it was my first time coming here. Prices are reasonable and portion wise, pretty good. The chop-chop poutine wasn't too salty and the smoked meat was good. Carrot cake isn't too sweet, moist, but for those who are allergic to nuts, beware as they have walnuts! What I ordered was small chop-chop poutine ($12.75 CAD approx) + carrot cake ($6.75 CAD approx) + coke ($3.75 CAD approx). Highly recommend RSVP in advanced if coming in a bigger group, but recommend this place for family-style brunches and diners.

Had a satisfying experience here from beginning to end. Ordering was easy, the team working there was polite and cheerful, and the food was prepared very well. The atmosphere felt cozy and enjoyable. I’d happily visit again sometime soon.

I have been here many times and always get great service and good food. The atmosphere is the best version of a classic diner. The prices continue to be great value, despite everything. It can’t be easy to maintain such consistency over so many decades and somehow, Greenspot is always a pleasure to visit.

You will never be disappointed when you drop in here for a bite to eat. There's a reason they have been open for so many years and are still always packing people in. Had a lasagne today and it was excellent as usual, it was also huge. Well worth the visit. 😃

My wife and I stopped by on a Monday a few minutes before 11:00 and just missed the breakfast menu that ended at 11:00. Missing the breakfast menu my wife still ordered an Omlete that even from my side of the table looked very underwelming, as she dug in she lost her appetite and only ate less that 1/2 of her omlette simply because it tasted less than ordinary. Her plate came with french fries that were barely warm to the touch. I on the other hand indulged on a 10" steak & smoked meat sub. Unfortunately there was so much oily dressing thats all I tasted, no taste to the steak and absolutely no taste to what little smoked meat was in my sandwich. It was so bad it was necessary to disect my sandwich and remove the top 1/2 of the bread wich was drenched in oil. I also ordered a side of french fries and simular to my wifes fries mine were also just warm to the touch. On a brighter note our waitress was very nice and eagarly topped up our coffee's, her colleque host was also very friendly. Unfortunately I dont know how this establishment has recieved so many positive recommendations, we will not be back! And honestly, the overhaul condition and appearance of this place is old and has charm, however it doesnt mean the restaurant has to appear dirty, take a look at the filth of those old music selectors at each booth. Other than staff, this place needs an overhaul!

Greenspot is the purest definition of Casse-Croute. This place has been in existence since 1947 and I don’t see it slowing down one bit. It’s ultimate comfort food and you won’t leave disappointed. Greenspot is a Montreal institution and I hope it’s around for my little guy to enjoy as much as I did.

Historic and charming diner with your typical fare: poutines (a whole menu of different ones), burgers, souvlaki, pizza, etc. Service is always great!

They have served someone came behind me. Finally I decided to leave. Hope to receive an apology then I will modify the review. After the review the waitress has notice. The next day the service perfectly good service. I come back almost 2-3 times weekly

Precambrian poutine. I've lived in Montreal long enough to be misty over several now-long-gone places. So it's hard to be critical of a place that has weathered all of the changes and still feels like it's 1990. Unapologetic, unhealthy, unpretentious, ... And, appreciated for staying true to a working recipe. Carlos& Pepe's comes to mind as an example of a formerly perfect Montreal grub stop that tried to reinvent itself with catastrophic results. Green spot didn't try, and plows ahead, a living fossil in a sea of poke bowls and boba tea. Never change, Green spot!

As a longtime Southwest resident, this has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. It may not be "trendy/instagrammable" (to be fair, it's an old school style of restaurant) but you can always count on Green Spot to get something comforting and fufilling at a decent price. Their poutine is great. And I highly recommend their "Special hotdog" (Fries inside the hotdog)
