HOME🇲🇺 One of the major reasons why I live in Montréal. It is a point of pride for me for when my friends visit Montréal from anywhere in the world, to be able to say "I can take you to a place that serves authentic Mauritian food, exactly as it tastes at home when I was growing up". And everyone has ALWAYS loved it. It's a humble place, that doesn't pretend to be anything more than a place to eat good food at a great price point. FOOD One thing I've noticed over the years, the food always comes out PIPING hot. I will always recommend ordering some appetizers, it's silly not to, they're so cheap. Food is freshly made! Chef makes his own noodles. If you don't know what else to order, get the 1. Gato arouille x5 2. Mine bouille agneau. The bestttt. But everything is incredible. SERVICE Lately, the servers have been knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and good timing with checking in to see how everything is going. CHEF and HOST Mr Kissen is a blessing to the Mauritian community, not sure what we did to deserve you! When I bring guests, he always comes out to check personally if everything went well. He does his best to be a warm host. Always respectful. TIPS -If you've never had Mauritian food, be VERY very careful with the green chilli sauce, it'll hit you like a ton of bricks. Use sparingly. -I would say call ahead or message the page on Facebook just to ensure the restaurant can take guests, given it's a one-man operation.
