Reviews for Glaces Dolce Gelato are very mixed. Many customers enjoy the gelato and mention a creamy texture, a good selection of flavors, and sometimes friendly service. On the other hand, others mention bland or unremarkable flavors, prices they consider high, unclear pricing, and service that is often poor or unpleasant. In short, it may appeal if you are looking for natural, varied gelato, but the experience seems inconsistent.

Prices are NOT clearly posted. You have to go through with payment to see the price. This feels a little deceptive as a business practice. Their small size slushie was $6, as of June 2026. The slushie tasted good, but regardless, $6 feels outrageous for some ice and artificial flavouring - even in a tourist zone. Also, clear use of generative AI in promotional materials (menus, signs outside, etc). As such, the photos of the products were fake and over exaggerated, and did not reflect what the actual product looked like.
Large assortment of gelato flavours, which claim to be all made in house and 100% natural. All very appealing in colour. Price is higher than most gelato vendors in old Quebec (8$ for 2 scoops where most are 8$ for 3.) Portions are smaller than some ice cream vendors, as usual for a gelato place. The textures were very nice, being very smooth and creamy. The flavours were interesting with a few quite unique. I tried 2 flavours, Mango: this one was particularly creamy and smooth and very pleasant, though the mango flavour itself was not very strong and quite subtle, and I wonder...with 100% natural may deviate through the year with different batches of fruit. Mango is one of my favourite flavours...this one, at the time of my visit, I would have rated "acceptable", but I have certainly had better. I also tried "Citrus Sunrise", which started quite sweet but then changed to a bitter aftertaste. It was then I realized they likely included grapefruit in the mix. Some might very much like that...but it wasn't the choice I would make. Still I respect the unique blends they are working with. It was refreshing nonetheless, which is what I needed at the time after walking up and down the hill and around Quebec for several hours. I tried this to see if the extra cost was worth it, but there was certainly no wow factor to strongly distinguish it from the plethora of ice cream, sorbet and gelato vendors in old Quebec.
Good lord where to begin. I saw the donuts in the window and I love maple syrup flavored donuts. There were three different flavours of donuts and I asked the server which ones were maple (as they all looked similar). He just said “I don’t know.” I was expecting him to ask one of the three other employees who were behind the counter but he just… didn’t. But then he recommended the maple donut holes and said they were amazing. Great - so I ordered a small serving. He said it would take a 2-3 minutes to warm up the fryer. After coughing and wiping his nose with his bare hands and not washing them, 15 minutes later I got them. How would I describe them… think of the worst Timbits you’ve ever had, but hot, and double the price. I believe it was $8.25 before tax and tip for six. Ate three and threw out the rest. Save your calories and save your money.
The ice cream looks yummy, but they told us they didn't have any vega options unfortunately.
Maple syrup gelato was delicious. The other flavours we had, "salted caramel" (which barely tasted of anything) and white chocolate and almond, were bland. Overpriced for the quality.
