I hosted a corporate dinner at Gino’s last month and had a great experience! The lasagna is delicious and tastes like your grandmother’s family recipe. We tried three appetizers (focaccia, beef tartar, calamari) and all were great. I had issues with getting reimbursed by my company and the management at Gino’s was incredibly helpful, great customer service!
Reviews / Ratings for Gino’s Negroni & Lasagna
Great vibe. I've had better, but Lasagna was great. The bread (focaccia ?) was divine. Best I've had by a landslide. Drinks were not our style. We ordered 6 of them and were pretty underwhelmed. Friendly staff.
It’s the best lasagna in Montreal , highly recommended
Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. Our waitress, whom we believe was named Talia, appeared to consistently overlook our table while attending to others around us. We experienced an unusually long wait time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes just to receive our drinks and appetizers. As both of us work in the service industry, we understand how demanding and fast-paced restaurant environments can be. We also want to emphasize that we would not have minded the wait as much if other tables around us had been experiencing similar delays. However, it seemed that surrounding tables were being attended to in a timely manner, which made the situation particularly frustrating. The level of inattention and lack of communication we experienced felt excessive and discourteous. We had initially planned to stay for a full-course meal, but due to the situation, we ultimately decided to leave early.
Talia is amazing 🤩
An absolute robbery. $25 for a mini size lasagna. First and last time. This is a lack of respect to the customer.
I went to Gino's Sunday with a group of 6 people and everything was outstanding - from the cocktails to the desserts! Definitely worth a try the food is absolutely delicious and the service was also exceptional. So happy to have found this gem and looking forward to going back!
Our group of 4 remember when St. Laurent was rok’n with the hottest restaurants and clubs and we haven’t gone back since the city ruined it by the non stop construction. Well I kept on seeing this Gino’s pop up on my feed and since I love lasagna and Negronis I made the reservation. On entering, the place was hopping with the young crowd I once was when it was my generation turn on the Main. Our female server Lean had the perfect St. Laurent vibe sweet, attentive, knowledgeable with the right amount of tattoos. First my buddy and I ordered 2 classic Negroni’s my wife had the one with prosecco and one white wine and all were great but if your driving one Negroni is enough because yippee they are good. The food included entrees of salad( good for 4) that was delicious but the deep fried shrimp and zucchini was outstanding and the portion of both were nice to see in this time of shrinkflation and my buddy had the octopus another hit. So here comes the lasagna and I’m already 90% full but my brain was about to be put on hold because it was melt in your mouth great! Since it was my friends birthday and we were beyond stuffed we shared another hit with another melt in your mouth tiramisu. So in the end all I can say is St. Laurent is back and Gino’s is a great night out just come in hungry.
Good food, bad service, pretty slow and the waiter was not very attentive
Lasagna was excellent and service was great too. A was a bit surprised to see the food was served as is and wasn’t a full kitchen which makes sense because it is lasagna and needs to be cooked ahead. Drinks were decent, however the Negroni was disappointing especially since it’s in the name.
Their lasagna is amazingly delicious and they also accept walk ins !
Best lasagna I’ve ever had, with good service. Not too loud which is very much appreciated too
Best dinner in the city! Food was fresh and delicious. Service was great, special shoutout to Joelle and Steven for taking such great care of us. Great spot, don’t miss out on it.
Great location - delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and attentive and friendly staff
I absolutely loved my experience here! The ambiance was perfect for a date night. We stopped by while visiting from Toronto, and as vegetarians, we were really impressed with the options. We started with the mozzarella di bufala fritta as an appetizer, followed by the eggplant lasagna for our mains. We also tried their special negroni, which had just the right kick. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with great vibes.
The food and service gets better each time I visit, I definitely recommend Gino's to anyone looking for amazing Italian comfort food!
Honestly such a nice place! the food and drinks are incredible with such a reasonable price, but the staff is really the highlight here. They are so nice and caring. highly recommend if you wanna have a good time! they even have GF lasagna and vegan options which is such a plus if you have a group with restrictions
I ordered the gluten‑free lasagna and was not expecting it to be that good… super rich. It’s actually hard to find a gluten‑free option that tastes this good so I was really impressed. The staff was also incredibly helpful and accommodating when I mentioned my back issues.
I couldn't be happier to find a vegan lasagna in Montreal! I thoroughly enjoyed it with a negroni. Service was great too, very friendly atmosphere. I'll be coming back soon for sure!
What can I say…it’s a place that zeroes in on 2 things: Negroni and Lasagna. As a lover of both (and an Italian) there were some expectations. Negroni: I mean it’s a Negroni. Nothing special here. They are pre-made and on tap. Perhaps that affects how good they are? All I know is I make a better Negroni at home. Lasagna: as an Italian, I was quite disappointed. It tasted great, but had….an inconsistent consistency. Crunchy bits were dried out and overcooked. The slice could have also been larger for $20. Total for 2 drinks, 2 slices of lasagna (with tax and tip): $93. Not worth it, sorry.
Had an amazing night at Gino’s yesterday with four friends for a birthday. The staff was freaking amazing and even surprised us with a dessert and a candle. The tartare and octopus were incredible. Can’t wait to go back!
Fantastic service and amazing food. A great spot!
got pushed to leave before our 2 hours were up which kinda just diminished our experience. Hostess and server need to communicate better. Server explained a reservation was going to come and we would need to leave soon, she asked if it was okay for us to pay now, but that we had some time left so no rush. that’s totally fine, we understand. I specifically asked her if we should get going at that moment, she said no, you still have maybe 10 minutes. Barely a minute after this interaction the hostess comes asking us to leave because the next reservation arrived…I truly appreciate when restaurants honor reservations, but some better communication is required as that just felt inconsistent because we were told we still had some time. And indeed, when we left I saw it had not been 2 hours since our reservation time (6:45pm and it was 8:37pm) .Just unfortunate. Had ordered a desert and a latte, by the time my latte came, my friend was pretty much done with her desert. Thought they had forgotten it since it took so long compared to my friends desert. Kind of bad timing. Also not the best to leave your clients waiting 10 minutes for a latte if you need the table soon. Now for the food, lasagnas were good. With a generous amount of parmesan, the burrata was also very good but I found the biscotti/burrata ratio a bit odd. One lil bread more would go a long way here and is not very expensive to add.
Vibes 10/10. We stopped in for a drink and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. If you love Campari, this is your spot, they have so many different kinds of Negronis to try. The lasagna was fantastic too!
Tasty lasagna (as the name implies) - salad is also great
