Wonderful dining experience in Old Town Montreal! No sign on the building or door - you just have to know it’s there. Outstanding service, menu, wine selections, and ambiance. The clear winner out of many excellent dinners we enjoyed during a week long visit to Quebec City and Montreal.

Chef's menu was excellent. Diverse and delicious. Service was excellent as well. The entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly. A must. Was a great place for my lovely wife to take me to celebrate my birthday. We loved the great music as well. This was not our first visit and won't be our last. It is pricey but from my standpoint worth the experience.

Great service. We were a pain in the ass and the servers were great. They laughed and enjoyed our ridiculousness. They're even happy to serve you if one of your compaitriates can't speak French worth a shit (and will join you in laughing at them). Had a great time and would definitely go back again.

We stopped by Garde Manger last Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and loved every bit of it. My husband couldn't stop raving about the lobster poutine, and I had the fish tacos which were just as good. The exposed brick and dim lighting gave the whole place a cool, relaxed vibe even though it was pretty busy. Our server was patient with all our questions about the menu and made sure we didn't wait too long between courses, which we appreciated after a long morning of walking around Old Montreal.

Stopped by Garde Manger around 9pm on a whim after wandering through Old Montreal and it was the right call. The lobster poutine is as rich and stupidly good as everyone says, the brick walls and low lighting make the whole room feel like a speakeasy without trying too hard. Our server knew the menu cold and talked us through the specials without any of the usual script-reading vibe. Tight tables and a long wait if you show up without a reservation, but the food more than makes up for it.

Such a vibe. As a solo dinner, some experiences are wildly better than others. Nicolas (maître d') made sure I had the best seat at the bar and consistently set the mood with a great play list throughout the evening. Calvin, the bartender, consistently checked in with great pairings for the meal. The food? Outstanding. While everything was great, my favorites were the chefs own hot sauce on oysters, the octopus, the corn appetizer and the birthday surprise enhanced with a curated music experience. Thanks for the evening, team.

Amazing spot for date night. We sat at the bar and had the most intimate and genuine experience. All of the staff were very hospital and knowledgeable of the menu. The food and cocktails are incredible. The coffee cake was to DIE for! Well worth the price for this kind of top shelf dining experience.

This was recommended by one of the local, the restaurant is located at old town of Montreal, we all first time in this town , we ordered as what the server recommend, wait for 20 mins the first dish comes out all of us complaining toooooo salty, seems like this is the way to get more drinks from guests, every dish is too much salt, very high sodium. Anyone has high blood pressure or prefer healthy food, don't recommend

Stopped by for a late breakfast on Sunday and ended up ordering the maple glazed pork belly, which was easily one of the best brunch dishes I've had in Montreal. The dining room has this cozy exposed-brick vibe that made it easy to linger over coffee for an extra hour without feeling rushed. Our server was genuinely knowledgeable about the menu and walked us through a few local cheese pairings without being pushy about it. Got there around 10:30 and there was a short wait, so if you're coming on a weekend morning it's worth getting there right at opening.

Brought my pup along on Saturday afternoon and they let us grab a spot on the patio without any fuss, water bowl included. The duck rillettes were incredible and honestly worth the trip alone. Our server was patient while I juggled a leash and a menu, checking in without hovering the whole time. Great vibe overall, loud and lively but still relaxed enough that my dog just napped under the table the whole meal.

I was underwhelmed unfortunately. Had I not been a frequent guest at the older version of Garde Manger, I probably would have been happy with everything. The previous menu was much better and had more choice. My husband and I used to travel to Montreal twice a year to eat here. After our visit this past weekend, we won’t be back. There is nothing exceptional about it anymore. Also, it’s too smokey. It was always like that but the food and service made up for it. We actually ended up leaving after our appetizers. R.I.P. Garde Manger 😢

450$ for 2 people... In the beginning the seafood sharing platter seemed great but as we progressed with the 175$ tasting menu, the choice of dishes and value for money kept disappointing. Appetizing: a giant dish of tomatoes, 2 ridiculous shells covered in panko that tasted like falafels, meat tartar was ok but nothing extra. Mains: 2 tiny pieces of steak with onion rings... 2 tiny pieces of fish. And a corn soup. Seriously?Dessert was ok but not wow. I've been to other great restaurants, Michelin or non starred restaurants and I can tell where quality meets expectations: I would never come back to Garde Manger again as it was a painful experience for my pocket and my tasting buds. This place was a complete ripoff.

Our group of four opted for the third tier tasting menu ($235/pp) which varied from excellent (seafood platter) to mediocre (lobster pogo, swordfish, duck). Our less than stellar experience was partly our fault as this was the tail end of a weekend marked by multiple Michelin stars. The tasting menu is very generous and was way too much. We will opt for à la carte next time.

I came here back on August 8th I promised I would write a review but didn't get a chance until now. 1st, the service was impeccable from Nicholas, Jihan and Nappa. Everyone was super friendly and resourceful. All their recommendations were great. They treated us like family. We had the tomatoe salad, oysters and octopus. Each was flavourful and delicious. Our drinks were also great. I loved that my remaining beer was put on ice to stay cold for my refill, what a wonderful touch. An absolute wonderful time and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and great service.

Lovely restaurant, with a warm and inviting vibe. Excellent wine selection and delicious food. Had the tier 2 chef’s menu and it did not disappoint. Oysters, amazing seafood dips, crispy fish skin served to perfection and yummy deserts. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. Great music too!
