What guests say about Frite Alors! - St-Denis
Opinions are mixed, but many customers enjoy the poutines and fries, with some very positive comments about the taste, service, and local feel of the place. On the other hand, others point to very long waits, inconsistent service, and quality that can sometimes be disappointing, especially for takeout orders. Portions are also considered small by some, and parking can be difficult. If you’re looking for a convenient stop for poutine or burgers and don’t mind waiting, it may be worth a try.

Crispy fries, great gravy, huge portion sizes loved the options here. Staff was friendly locals dine here less touristy
This place absolutely sucks. Service is horrible. Servers completely inattentive. Burger embarrassingly small and burnt to crisp. Never asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. Never brought over a single glass of water. Ordered a gluten free bun and only 30 mins after ordering did a server come over to say they didn’t have them. It still took another 20 mins to come out. The gluten free meal, we were told would be in the house for the screw up. Still charged full price for it. Embarrassingly crap.
Took the kids here on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago and honestly it was one of those rare spots where everyone at the table was happy. The poutine was the real deal, thick gravy and squeaky curds, exactly what you want after a morning of running around the city. Staff were super friendly and patient with my two little ones who kept changing their minds about dipping sauces. We were in and out in under an hour without feeling rushed, which is basically the dream when you have kids in tow.
Great service. The hamburger was a bit dry.
Fries are amazing but portion are small for the price
Great spot for poutine. A range of fun options - so something for everyone!
17$ for a poutine that was supposed to have double the cheese, but almost no curds worth being called a curd was to be found….
Food wasn’t that good. Poutines are better in McDonald’s to be honest.
Nice place. Keeps the style.
Poutine was good, got it to go and felt like I did not get as much as I should have, if I ate in. Otherwise good
The space is quite spacious with plenty of seating. It wasn’t too loud, and the place has a very local, laid back feel. I went in the early afternoon on a weekday, so it wasn’t busy at all. It felt calm, quiet, and comfortable. The menu includes poutine, smash burgers, burgers, and a few side dishes. I ordered the sausage poutine. It was really good and came with a generous amount of sausage. The food arrived quickly, about 5 minutes after ordering. There was one male server working the floor. He was friendly, attentive, and very efficient. He moved constantly, stayed flexible, and paid attention to every table. Very professional overall. Definitely worth trying. I would come back if I am in the area again.
We visited from Alberta, wanted delicious poutine while in Montreal, and were not disappointed with our experience. In fact, my friend who had not yet experienced a poutine which she enjoyed, really enjoyed it! I was delighted that she finally could understand my enjoyment of poutine. Both the poutine and the side salad that we shared were delicious! Would highly recommend this place!
