My partner and I dined at Foxy for our anniversary and unfortunately left feeling disappointed by the experience, especially because we had enjoyed dining here in the past. The food itself was very good, but the service and seating significantly affected our evening. Our table felt extremely cramped and was positioned so closely to the surrounding tables that it was difficult to have a private conversation or comfortably enjoy the meal. It felt like we had been squeezed into a corner to maximize seating. But what was most disappointing was the service. Our server seemed rushed and largely uninterested in interacting with us from the start. We were given very little guidance or explanation throughout the meal, weren’t checked on much, and overall felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. It was especially noticeable because the surrounding tables appeared to receive much warmer and more attentive service. We understand restaurants can be busy, and we are usually very understanding diners, but this was meant to be a special evening for us and the experience left us feeling overlooked.

All the food choices were delicious! I especially enjoyed the gnocchi and the steak. Definitely not a place you visit often if you’re on a budget, but such a great experience and absolutely worth it for a special occasion.
The staff is so sweet and treated me like family. The food is incredible and the bar and service is so good. The homemade feta is absolutely to die for, but there wasn’t a single thing on the menu that I didn’t love. The owner is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and is one of the best sommeliers as well!
We had an amazing experience at foxy yesterday! The staff is really nice we just let them decided for our entire dinner they made us try all the classic and every single thing was a 10/10 the wine they served us was a perfect pairing even with the variety of food we had. I absolutely recommend this place thanks again to the team you made our experience memorable!
Food was really good! Nice restaurant. Nice presentation. Only think is that the tables are way too close to eachother!
We had a fantastic dinner at Foxy. The wait staff was so lovely and knowledgeable about the menu, including information for one of our guests with a gluten intolerance. The steak was out of this world.
5/5 meal. Genuinely impressed. Every dish was spot on but the beef tartar and steak was the standout. Excellent wine pairings. Would definitely come back
Overall I had a great experience. We enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was good also.
Really good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. I enjoyed it a lot.
Great ambience with the wood burning cook fire. We had a great waiter who was attentive to our needs. It was wonderful to meet the Chef and express our appreciation for the exceptional meal. The cocktails were inventive and delicious.
The beef tartar was probably the best dish I had, but a bit too salty. The main dish which was the fish had almost raw potatoes. Just not what I expected for the price.
It become one of my favorites in Montreal! Don’t think, just try and thank me.
The taste was delicious but the portions are ridiculous!!! True highway robbery. You pay 18$ for on carrot cut in 6, and 28$ for two mushroom heads. Be aware that everything you see on this menu is equivalent to 4 very small bites. Even the gnocchi that was supposed to be sharable wouldn’t be enough for a child. I don’t mind paying for expensive dinners yet this one had 0 quantitative value to it.
I usually never do this, but my experience there was terrible. I came by myself on a busy Saturday night to have a spot at the bar and the sitting they gave me was horrible. Constantly being hit from behind of the servers and guests as I was sitted on an island in a high foot traffic within a tight corridor. I think this place is meant to reserve in advance and i’d like to give a second chance since the ambiance overall was great.
So delicious and flavourful. Good experience to eat once
Very good service and food. Oysters mignonette was 10/10
You just know the food will be excellent if there's an Argentinian grill displayed in the center of the restaurant. Everything was so original and enjoyable to devour.
I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants all around the world. A lot of them are generally tasting menus. Which I do believe foxy may offer. However, we chose the Comptoir chef seating. Which means we got to sit at the counter and watch the chefs in action it was such an amazing experience. When you first walked into the restaurant, you can smell the wood because they cook everything over wood and it is such an amazing smell. It sets you up for a great experience right from the beginning. We sat at the counter as I mentioned. At first, I was thinking while this counter is awfully tiny. How is this going to work. But I do find that the servers staggered the food and placed everything precariously in a way that made it all work. So yes, it’s a small space but it worked just fine. We ordered a bunch of items to share between the group. We started with the Scallop Crudo and the feta and pita. I personally loved the scallops more than the pita, but my coworkers loved the pita better. Then we moved on to The Little gem salad and the Capelletti pasta. Both were fantastic. Last we had maitake mushrooms and cod. The mushrooms were a meter event for me! I’ve obsessed with mushrooms, and this was absolutely incredible. The server came by and asked if we wanted dessert. We decided to have oysters and carrots as our dessert. Lol we saw the chefs making them and they just looked so incredible that we couldn’t resist. This is going to sound really strange, but those carrots were really one of the highlights for me. I can’t explain it. They were just so incredibly flavorful and it was something I will think about for a long time. The only negative for me is that I didn’t really love the wine selection that the server suggested. However, wine is such a personal preference that it’s not really his fault. It just it wasn’t for me. Major shout out to Jenna. She was manning the oven closest to us. And she was doing everything with a smile. She was explaining the process to us. She was doing such an incredible job. She made the experience even more fun. I will 100% come back here when I am back in Montreal.
I had a wonderful experience at foxy. The food was incredible. Every single dish was full of flavour and it’s clear that they put a lot of thought into the menu. Service was incredible, every time a new plate came to our table the server explained what was in it. The atmosphere is also incredible, they have an open air kitchen where you can see the cooks working.
